Yeah, like I know what you guys mean when you say that it might be asking her too much, but she obviously has an interest in both me and Jorge and isn't being shy about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled, but when I'm getting a million messages, from people asking me if I know her, etc. regardless of what I say, it's starting to become not worth it. The first couple of replies that I got were so great, but now I'm feeling more sad than anything for all of you, especially since I haven't been doing anything different. I even have people asking me to tell Ayu to reply to them.

I dunno, it'd just be nice if she was a bit more... discreet? lol

But it seems like all this started because I mentioned the DVD to her and she seemed extremely interested in that. Even though we gave her the book, I still think she has no idea how much we all love her here at AHS. My asking of her if she wanted to know about our activities was to not give away our plans for the DVD, but just to remind her that we're just as important as TA before it's too late. They already forced her to stop taking photos, and I noticed now she's replying less in English. I wouldn't be surprised if she totally stopped Twitter all together soon.

So I wanna use my "powers" for good and make her realize that WE'RE a part of TA too.

She is actually still posting photos.

She just won't ever post images of herself on her Twitpic. (which imo is reasonable)

I would say she's keeping it relatively 50/50 with English/Japanese tweets. She isn't doing it as much in general due to the concerts I think, though.

Really? I honestly think she does have an idea. It's not just AHS, but all over the world. Not everyone who is an Ayu fan is at AHS after all, haha. I don't think we have to keep shoving the fact that she has overseas fans in her face when it seems like she obviously knows about us thanks to Twitter and the fanbook. Isn't that enough? We don't need to keep informing her of what she's already seemingly aware of.

AngelSenshi 25th April 2010 01:38 AM

I really hope she continues to realize that foreign fans love her as much as Japanese fans do. I almost wish somebody could write her a big letter, telling her we're all thankful that she tried to be closer to us by doing this whole twitter thing, and writing to the people in English and all that. She's done a lot for us who are too far away, and I'll always love and appreciate her for that, because she at least tries, you know? Not a lot of artists would do that.

I feel bad that she's got to listen to selfish comments, I feel bad that she may feel like she's got to pick between different groups of fans... Even if she stopped twittering because of the pressure, I'll always be thankful that at least she tried.

truehappiness 25th April 2010 01:46 AM

Well, I was reading some old beatfreak things and I realized that Ayu probably really REALLY liked the book project, haha.

About from your letter:
I love letters. I love writing them, I love getting them. If somebody says something to you out loud, you figure, “Well, I’ll forget about it by tomorrow,” or maybe “They just got carried away.” But it’s different with letters. When you get a letter, you can guess that that person who wrote it looked it over after writing it, and that if there was anything that didn’t go along with how they were feeling at the time, they would have re-written it. And so it’s like, this letter is the real thing. And since you’ll always have the physical letter afterwards, it’s not like they can just write a bad letter. Letters are really important to me.
Around the time that I was thinking of writing this song, I just happened to be getting a whole bunch of letters from different people, and it made me think of how much I like letters again. I’d look over the spots where they had re-written something, and I’d think: “Oh, this was wrong, they really meant this”. This song came about because I wanted to write a letter while reading all of those letters. But if you use words like “watashi” or “anata”, it feels too much like a love letter, doesn’t it? Rather than that, I wanted to make it more of a light-hearted letter, so I tried out the word “boku” for the first time.

She looooooooooves letters apparently. She recently mentioned how a long letter from someone who got a lyric sheet in Japan motivated her. I wonder how she gets some of these letters though... hm. (Outside of the TA message system)

- a high school girl from TA got a lyrics sheet, and wrote her a letter through TA. they were saying something like how her reaction must be something like how woodstock talks (in dots)
- when she can't write lyrics, when she reads long letters from her fans, like the one she got from the high school girl, she feels motivated to write.
It's nice how Ayu still likes some of the things she liked in 1999, haha. -hides-

Amrai-chan 25th April 2010 01:47 AM

If the Japanese fans are feeling jealous of the English speaking fans or whatever I think that's sad. They should have more trust in Ayu that she hasn't abandoned them.

tasking 25th April 2010 01:48 AM

But correct me if I'm wrong: even though it says "A WORLD IS ONE," that book was compiled by all of us at AHS, no?

Ayu said herself the Twitter was to reply to all of us overseas fans, yet because of their complaining, we lose out to TA again. We instead get pictures of her food. Where is the justice in that? Yes, TA pays $65 a year/month/whatever, but we don't have an TA at ALL and it always seems like we're losing out to them.

So the fact that she succumbs to their complaining... maybe she does have an idea now, but it's still somewhat vague, considering.

We have a long ways to go.

Even before TeamAyu mentioned anything, she probably planned on never posting images of herself. You really need to stop being so angry at TeamAyu. She's a Japanese artist. Things like this are bound to happen. Just get over it, haha. Cherish what we do have rather than continue begging for more from her. What overseas fans have gotten to do with Ayu (speak with her, give her letters, etc.) is probably way more than most fans of Japanese artists could even dream of doing. Isn't that enough?

At heart, I don't think she's really changed. I mean she's grown up, and maybe some views of the past have changed, but the core elements that made her Ayu in 1998/1999, is still here in the Ayu of 2010.

I really do think they need to have more faith in her love for them.

well.. of course she's interested in the DVD she sure will love it ^^ but well she will get it someday soon (if I have luck this december)

We all know she is interested in some people, I'm still thrilled that she answered me by my name (Also gigi) and read my messages telling her to say hello to Jorge in Osaka! But well, not because of that we have to feel diferent... or just ask her more... I'll just keep tweeting her as always, I won't ask her more because she knows I was in London...

I don't know... XD

I'm a little tired XD

There was some non AHS entries in there too I'm sure. It was open for any fan.

I'm sure that she loves to tweet those she saw in London because it's like seeing a familiar face, you know? That's certainly a nice thing when you see and hear from sooo many people. But I don't think it's favouritism or anything like that; I'm sure she'd like to tweet as many people as possible, but with the number of tweets that go in there are only so many she can keep up with.

I'm sure she'll love the DVD; it's a shame I'm too shy to do anything for it, and I stupidly didn't do anything for the fanbook either. Though I'm not worried I guess; maybe someday, like I always say :)

aura~ if you ever send her a message through TA, please do tell her I'm very thankful for her trying so hard for foreign fans :)

aura~ 25th April 2010 02:06 AM

^yeah... well... it's obvious that some people tweet a lot and that when Ayu sees it she answers them... and a lot of people spam her like crazy too... luck? the moment? I don't know LOL

Yeah, luck, the moment, familiarity; they all factor in I guess. Like piles and piles and piles of comments come in, probably while she's using the computer for other reasons like writing lyrics, or writing TA blog entries, and when she just comes back the page is packed and she goes for something that catches her eye the quickest. She can't be blamed for that really.

I really do hope she'll know international fans are thankful. To Japanese fans, this twitter thing may seem like it came out of nowhere really. I do believe it was an international fan that took the initiative and asked max if Ayu was going to make a twitter. I really wish Ayu would know that we realize that she did this for us, to be closer to us once she realized that there are plenty of foreign fans out there that love her and her work so much. I really wouldn't like her to think her efforts went unnoticed, especially since Japanese TA members haven't been all that kind about the entire thing.

So thank you, thank you, if you tell her all this, since I certainly cant and as you said 140 characters is way too little to be able to express such things.

There are things to make Tweets longer.

But yeah mostly everybody is thankful I agree.

tasking 25th April 2010 03:05 AM

How? Besides replacing "are" with "r" and obvious things like that.

Amrai-chan 25th April 2010 03:19 AM

XL Tweet or a page that lists other tools to make your tweets longer.

AyUmIXx 25th April 2010 03:25 AM

woww i can't believe Japanese fans are some sort of childish here?
T____T
why we can't also love Ayu the same as they are??
hiksss..
to love an artist, is that so hurt?
isn't it a good thing that AYu is known world wide? omg~
i donno what those fans think..they think Ayu could only sign for them?
hmmm~~~~~

truehappiness 25th April 2010 03:54 AM

We should stop talking about the Japanese fans. It's basically the same thing as them talking about the overseas fans getting attention. It's not classy imo.

aura~ 25th April 2010 04:15 AM

I send her the looooooooooooong message through TA ^^ it's beautiful I think XDDD I hope she will read it LOL

AyUmIXx 25th April 2010 04:20 AM

i donno, the whole "stop taking to the foreign fans" thing is just not fair..
so we can't like/love ayu the same way they do?
we all buy the CDs/DVDs/everything too.. we pay more extra costs for the goods to delivered to us..
isn't it hard for us to get a little bit attention from Ayu? just a little bit, that's all~

and i don't mean ALL Japanese fans..but THOSE who ask ayu to stop T__T
it's saddening~~
