brb giving you the side eye and filing my nails boredly.

I never said she said that, but she does basically direct most of her attention to her gay fans. She talks a lot about and thanks her fans in general too so I don't really care either way anyway, especially since I don't really care for her as a person or what her "mission" is. I just don't really buy it.

She's super talented, and I really like most of her work, but that's it.

I can see how people would feel like she's excluding them, but really, she says she loves ALL her fans, that includes gays and straights. She doesn't constantly just mention her gay fans, she mentions all her little monsters when she wins things.

She has no need to say "THIS IS FOR GOD AND FOR THE STRAIGHTS" because, well, straight people don't need to fight for the same rights as gay people lol.

She's making a statement, not trying to alienate her fans. I wish people didn't see it that way because she's doing more good than harm you know?

Yeah, it's kinda like how you see, uh, "ethnic" celebrities sticking up for their own race in times of need, creating awareness and helping to build equality. Like, if I were a celebrity (as if) I would be using my voice to stand up for those who I feel are in need.

Who cares. Sorry. If the meat wasnt on her, it was going to be on someone's plate.

Besides, I know people have this whole thing about her stirring up controversy...but why don't you give her the benefit of the doubt...and say, maybe she did it as Art.

You know, when Georgia O Keefe painted large flowers all over the place, she was trying to get you to look at things a certain way. Then people came in and started saying she was going on painting about genitalia....

To me, I see it as more of a statement...it's just sad that in our world, it still has to be made.

About the gay rights thing...I'm sure Gaga wouldn't mind marrying a straight couple...but uh...that's not what the gesture is about lol

Better in someone's body and nourishing them, than on her body rotting. I don't think it's animal rights or making a statement, I think its Lady Gaga trying to get people to look at her. When I saw it I was just kinda like :rolleyes And what's wrong with people wanting to stand up for animal rights? Lady Gaga can stick up for gays, but they can't stick up for animals? It's sad that in our world animals get killed for no reason.

Oh, a remix of her new song is now out. Can be heard here.

Calico 16th September 2010 09:13 AM

I always hear this stuff standing up for gay rights...and wouldn't she want to? Isn't she bi herself? Not that it makes a difference, but I think people forget that.

I really just don't care about the meat dress anymore. Odds are it would've been wasted in another way anyway

Nothing wrong with it. Go ahead and voice your opinions all you like.

I personally, am just tired of it. Some people have just been taking it too far lately. A lot of these animal rights groups are just regarded as total jokes now. They're like religious zealots, except with animals.

I highly doubt that, Gaga had a group of hunters go out and kill a bunch of innocent wild animals, and then bring them back specifically to make the dress.

The designer most likely bought the meat from a meat company that breeds animals specifically for the purpose of consumption :/

In which, no offense, but I think the groups are fighting a losing battle if they want to have people stop eating meat altogether just so we don't have to kill any animals.

In any case, I don't think it's just to get people to look at her. People are already looking at her. How many nominations was she up for this time around?

She's just taking advantage of that fact.

I think it is a statement. I guess we just have to agree to disagree.

waterballoon 16th September 2010 09:53 AM

the thing is, if the dress was real meat wouldn't it... smell? I mean heck I doubt Gaga would be able to stand that raw smell of meat... @__@ and it's all so squishy... eww

emi♡ 16th September 2010 09:58 AM

I figured they probably coated it in something to preserve it lol and mask the smell...but you never know :laugh

waterballoon 16th September 2010 10:09 AM

^ lol I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga likes the smell :laugh

but i wonder what Cher thought while she hugged her...

"oh it's squishy! wonder if it's her boobs or... the meat. : /"

HELVENEUE 16th September 2010 10:52 AM

i'm so surprised by all the reactions to the meat dress. I wasn't even shocked when I saw her simply because I've seen raw meat used in(as) fashion before.

jbrat2219 16th September 2010 03:52 PM

I might seem like an ass for this but I'm less concerned for the animal rights as I am concerned for how much that meat probably smelled! And it's raw~ Ew ew ew ew! Couldn't she at least have fried it or something? Yuck!

U-GO-BOY 16th September 2010 05:54 PM

^ lol, next year VMA's Gaga's dressed up in chicken wings '_'

THAT'S MY EXACT CONCERN LMFAO!!

jbrat2219 16th September 2010 06:17 PM

Apparently she said he smelled nice, but I don't believe that for a minute! Gross! Gaga's antics don't really get to me anymore but the whole meat dress is just nasty! Her other dresses were GORGEOUS though. Especially that Armani one! :luv2

I think we all know that groups like PETA are annoying and crazy. They make animal rights seem like a joke, and all the people who care about animals, crazy.

You know what would be shocking statement from Gaga for me? Jeans and a t-shirt. I think that deep down she is one of the nicest celebs, from what I hear she does for all (:P) her fans, like sending them pizza (both meat and veggie, lol) when they were forced to wait for a while to see her for some sort of appearance. You really don't see someone like Britney doing stuff like that. But I think that sometimes she gets caught up trying to be epic. Her music does that all on it's own. I can appreciate her outfits as someone who hopes to make a career in high fashion and that sometimes she wants the controversy to create awareness, but I wouldn't mind her to do a live in her PJs or something. I guess the outfits and the craziness are just her and I can live with that and I will still support her just the same, I just would like to see jeans. :P

I JUST LOVE HER DRESS...i think is the most raw vegetarian message of all.
his dress is the reflection of our dominant carnivore sociaty

Polyrhythm 16th September 2010 11:08 PM

It would've been a great idea if it wasn't real meat....Like if maybe they made it out of a fabric that appears to look like meat....

It makes sense somehow, using real meat.

But the people here will go crazy here if I put my opinion about this meatdress. So yeah.

honestly, i don't think so, the message is violent because is real
she is talking about animal dignity, and show to the people the real human behave.

and we can't blame her for telling the truth.

I actually would love to hear your opinion. You never know, you may make someone see another side of the story and change their opinion.

xLuna&1LOVE 17th September 2010 06:39 AM

Well, okay then. I don't know if this is posted before. I don't even care.
Don't get me wrong, Lady Gaga is an awesome artist, but yeah. You know what's her problem?
I don't even believe there is an actual reason and 'hidden meaning' behind this stuff. Lady Gaga just love to shock people, just to get the attention again. Then, whenever they ask her for the reason why she wears clothes like that, then she's going to look for the best 'logical' reason, the best 'logical hidden meaning.'
It's all about the image. Nothing else. Those 'meanings' which I read here, are just some random imaginations, some random 'it could be this!' reasons.
Coz people are looking for conclusions. Everything's supposed to have a meaning lately.

That's my vision. Sorry for my english, and thank you for reading.

you can think what ever you want about her work (or other artists work)..because that's the wonderful thing about Art, you can create your own meaning, or just keep your eyes in the shape.

"Lady Gaga just love to shock people"

that is something that a lot of artist love to do, and is a real alternative way to make art.
like: Tarantino, Madonna, Clive Barker, Mc queen, stephen king....theses are great artist after all.
the art don't need to be so serius all the time.
