turtle blood?! is it healthy? omg I wonder how does it tastes x.x

susiowong 23rd December 2011 08:08 AM

I imagine it tastes like... blood.

... Which is not very pleasant imo.

Utena 23rd December 2011 12:13 PM

it's very different from human blood though, I tasted once without knowing it and it's only after that my friend told me what it was lol... not bad at all, but gosh I just can't drink that without seeing the image of a poor little cutie turtle ;____;

it is said to be a very healthy drink though..

Chibi-Chan 23rd December 2011 12:46 PM

turtle blood? x.x

Suteisi 23rd December 2011 12:50 PM

Didn't she drink turtle blood last year at this same time of the year ?

Apparently it's very good for your health... or something. XD

panda♥ 23rd December 2011 01:19 PM

iirc, most kind of animal blood you can drink is healthy. turtle blood is a delicacy in Japan. :O

Earth_maiden 23rd December 2011 02:02 PM

its probably healthier than eating cockroaches or worms like they do in other cultures... doesn't mean it doesn't make me squirm... :shakehead

YUKARI 23rd December 2011 02:03 PM

hmm I'll def try it next time in Japan :P

Chibi-Chan 23rd December 2011 03:20 PM

When I see people eating and drinking turtle blood or other things I'm glad I'm a vegetarian. XD I mean, when you are visiting someone and he or she offers you something to eat and you refuse to eat it, because you think it's icky from your cultural point of view, it would be impolite. For example, I was in France with my school some years ago. And in the region we visited it was tradition to eat a soup like people in the 16th century ate when their town was sieged. Everybody had to eat it, and it smelled and looked VERY icky. I was the only one who hadn't to eat it, 'cos I never eat meat. xD

Sorry for double post, but I thought it might be interesting:
I looked it up and found an article (only in German) which says that it's a trend in Japan to eat/drink turtels/turtleblood, because it contains a high amount of collagen - so it's a new anti-aging method. But scientists are sceptical, 'cos there is no proof that collagen you eat or drink has an effect on your skin.

Minttulatte 23rd December 2011 04:28 PM

Turtle blood again? Didn't she drink that last year, too? :)

And she looks beautiful without make-up too. I love to watch her pics where there's no photoshop or anything. She's beautiful without any of those imo :)

Mari-chan 23rd December 2011 08:09 PM

The turtle blood thing is really.... disgusting.
