Parody was actually one of the album songs that got easily hooked up to in Distance. I didn't like Dorama and Sunglasses at all when I first listened to the album.

But probably you're correct. I would not recommend this song causal listener. To me, it's still a below-averaged hikki song in her entire discography. In fact Distance is my least favourite album. It's just a rip off from First Love with some tweak and twist.

I think the album songs weaken the overall quality. I think before Toshiba released Distance, they tried to say Eternally was the "First Love" in the second album (of course not saying the melody would be similar to the latter song). If they didn't hint that, I would probably love the song more. Once I got the album and listened the track, I was quite disappointed. And the period of skipping tracks 4 - 6 began...

I became a fan with ULTRA BLUE and still think those are gerat works - yet i feel DEEP RIVER is something very exceptional and artistic. I love Distance too but it took me a while...as for first love...at least it got automatic.

Right? lol
Actually along with Automatic, I like First Love, Never Let Go and Movin' on without you, but it all sound really dated (even though I don't hold stuff against dated hikki), but First Love is mostly boring listening for me. Her best tracks and music came afterwards.

Boring? Really?

Yes, at the time I didn't like its musical style so much. It felt kinda slow and wierd. It changed a years afterwards though.

Now I'm really wondering where this rumor came from

I see what you mean, I love that song but I skip every time it plays.
Still a good song though.

Ahhh, really? DISTANCE is my favorite albums of hers, I like it so much!

I just skip HEART STATION, it's the only album I don't really like

She had a tumor removed, but no mention of cancer. Trust and believe she would not have been up as quickly as she was if she was going through Ovarian Cancer, considering the rate of survival is pretty depressing.

Andrenekoi 10th July 2015 03:57 AM

Sorry, tumor, not cancer... Still, a lot of people may believe she had her ovaries removed back them...

Gotcha. Thankfully in her case it was benign. I don't think she had an ovary moved, usually that's done if the cyst is contorted around it. It sucks.

She mentioned she had a bad experience on the medicine they gave her. It's pretty awful stuff to be on.

New single this year (hopefully)!!!
Album may be delayed until next year if Utada gets lazy...

orangeakira 10th July 2015 07:13 PM

I have a weird feeling we're only going to get one single for this album. She's required by contract to release one more album by the end of this year right? (at least that's what I've seen people say on here). So assuming we're getting the album in December (January/February at worst), it's already July and she's not ready to release any singles yet. That only leaves 4-5 months for her to start releasing singles before the album comes out, assuming we're going to get any. Actually I feel like if she doesn't release the Evangelion song as a single, then we're just not going to get any.

Zahara 10th July 2015 08:24 PM

I think she signed a new contract at the time of her hiatus?

"On November 8, 2010, EMI Japan announced on its Web site that the company had made a new global recording deal with Utada, also stating that all of her future works regardless of language would be released under one name: Hikaru Utada"

The link is dead though. Thanks Wikipedia!

"Universal Music Japan revealed through media outlet Weekly Bunshun that Utada only has one album left before her contract with the label ends (which is allegedly her original contract with the then-EMI Music Japan) and that her comeback in the music industry is currently in discussion"

So confused!

ayumisrael 10th July 2015 08:29 PM

So... she basically makes an album because she has to release it due to the contract and then she might be gone for good again?

melissalove 10th July 2015 08:50 PM

^ oh boy here we go again :(

Zahara 10th July 2015 08:58 PM

I honestly haven't a clue, but she did say her hiatus would last 2-5 years...and we're coming to the end of year 5 soon.

Anyone ever realize how weird the photoshoot for This Is The One was?

https://jpopcdcovers.wordpress.com/2...is-is-the-one/

It's like the photography told her to just start dancing without any music and they just started taking pictures sporadically. I don't think this photo shoot had any real direction.

Delicious n Bold 11th July 2015 10:08 PM

She looked so tired in that photoshoot. But tired from what?
