Im suprised with the older lady saying its just how westerners are. Doesnt she usally say mean things about ayu, but this kind of seems like it was sort of a defence.

^ There was an article on Oricon, where avex representatives stated that they decided to separate, but havent applied for divorce, and they might reconcile. It was posted earlier in this thread, but I don't have time to find it.

She says they had already finished applying for divorce before she announced "we'll go our seperate ways" a few days ago.
