Pah, Namie had her share of terrible performances too. Hamasaki has a ton of wonderful performances. Why in the world would anyone want you as a fan? Seriously, if I had to deal with someone as negative and cynical as you, I would slap them senseless.

Yeah, I'd love to see what artist reaches his ridiculous standards. Every singer has their good and bad performances. It's the real fan who sticks by them through thick and thin.

why in the first place i'm in this forum? cuz i'm her hard-core fan like the rest of u years ago..during 2002~2003

i used to also protect ayumi from all those ppl who say she's can't sing, her voice damn screechy, her voice hurts their ears...

but even since i get to know namie, boa, hikki (btw, my nick is named after hikki ..Utada Hikaru Single Clip Collection UH3+)..i slowly found out that what most of them said are true and other jpop singers actually CAN sing very well. I was totally impressed by namie for being able to dance + sing perfectly on tune unlike ayumi who can't even sing her own songs on key even if she was sitting emotionless...

u see, i was a frog in a well who only saw the beautiful sky of ayumi but after jumped out of the well, i saw skies with rainbows, clouds and birds which are much much better then ayumi's...

*wipe sweats* that will be all for today (it's been a while also ^_^) dun get me wrong cuz she still producing high quality which surprisingly i still like... i found fated damn boring when it first came out but now i'm been humming it all the time cuz it's struck in my head..it's a very beautiful song!!!

Yeah, no artist deserves such condescending crap such as this. BoA, Hikki, Namie? Please, they don't sing perfectly every time. I've heard a lot of cringe-worthy performances from all of them. You could say us Ayu fans are blinded but you're doing the exact same thing for your favorite singers, so I wouldn't say such hypocritical bs.

^^ ayu can't have the voice kuu has, and hikki has, or BoA has, or maybe Yuna Ito (I found out her voice is cool), but won't that be so nice coz every artist have their own unique voice? and especially their own ways and styles of singing ?

so there's no excuses for ayumi to be singing live that poorly cuz she's a singer... maybe popularities is the only thing that is keeping her up all these years?

Ayumi is not only a good singer (yes GOOD, have you seen AT2002 unpluged) although she doesn't sing prefectly her voice is beautiful and much better than on the studio recordings becouse it is not so sweet. What's more she writes ALL her lyrics and even compose music to her songs. Maybe she is not the best singer but she is an ARTIST and that is enough for me.

SHE'S NOT SINGING THAT BAD OK ! If she can't sing...NOT only you...but LOTS of us here will leave her soon ok...

I AGREE with Cys86...ayu has the 'X-factor' that makes me enjoy to see her everytime she does LIVE performances...maybe she doesn't sing that GOOD, but it's always better then CD...really...I've always prefered her LIVE then CD

but i'm just damn frustrated about some ayumi fans being so blinded as to constantly denying that she's sings perfectly well when ayumi is way off-key or out of tune ...and when she's obviously not sing live...ppl insisting she is...

she's a jpop artist...i appreciate her lyrics and like her music but as a singer, she can't just go up stage and give half-ass vocal. And it's only this time round (although it's the worse i seen), way back 2002 arena tour, she live vocal was already a big problem and instead of doing something... she just do the same thing all these years...

maybe i should accept ayumi as who she is, not what i want her to be..maybe i have too high expectations of her able to perform a top-notch live concert...maybe that why after i saw the CDL 07-08, it makes me boil inside...

UHPlus I understand your point, I'm not an Ayu Fanatic, and she dissapointed me many times since MY STORY period. Her singing is coused by the injury she expirianced during Dome Tour, she is talkining about it in NTV interview.

Come on, face it, the jpop singers are very commercialized (I hate it!) and Ayu has to do everything what avex tells her to do. (Remember A BEST) The only true Ayu is inside the lyrics. At least I think so.

very true..i think the reason why i still love namie after all these years cuz she been doing things that can't sell well and not to the public's liking...she did what she like and what she wants...

I know by posting this it would make everyone here hate me, but honestly her vocals were just OFF during Surreal and the last few songs before the encore. And it's quite obvious STEPyou is pre-recorded. In fact evolution also sound pre-recorded to me. The texture of the voice in Step you just sounds so different, if you compare it w Ladies Night. She might have pre-record it cos of the costume change after talkin' 2 myself and she would be breathless after all the running and changing to sing Step You properly.

Excuse me? I don't think she sings perfectly, I know her concert had pitch problems in some areas, but it wasn't god-awful as you seem to be implying. I even said it was fine. And lip-synching? Please, her voice would sound CD-quality if that was the case. STEP you definitely wasn't, I could hear her breathing and sounding out of breath throughout the song, and it's easier to pull off than a lot of others. Heck, I could sing it and keep it relatively near her tune for the most part. You need to put on some good earphones and crank the volume up. You can hear the difference.
