ahh... njanjayrp... A BEST 2 had a higher first day sales actually.. both versions' indexes were over 80K (that is, 80000 x 1.7 = 136000). I think lots of you have messed up with oricon's new system and the old system...

And no, I think NL's first day sale is pretty decent. I think the main concern is that the boy band is getting close in term of sales.. No big deal, as I think avex will do something :P.

Next level's sales are not bad :D They'll surely go up with the USB sales. Don't worry.

And people... There's no need to say you'll hate Tohoshinki if they get 1st place. I'm really happy for them, I mean, really!!. I love both Tohoshinki and Ayu, and I think Tohoshinki REALLY deserves 2nd place, or even 1st. They have been doing so much promotion of The Secret Code and, apart from that, in my opinion it's a good album. I knew they were going to be hard competition, they are very popular in Japan these days. :)

I think they would only care if Ayu still had a number 1 streak they would do something. But since she doesn't, I doubt they care who gets first since they are both from Avex. And we should be rooting for a completely fair competition here. :)

Here is something more worrying though: Trick 1st day: 1 - Koda Kumi - 60,299 (x1.7) = 102,508

Koda's first day sales were actually HIGHER for Trick. And Trick ended up selling pretty crappily and with less versions.

why are so many people pessimistic about the sales??
she had worse first day figures, plus there are 4 versions, it has to sell good.
tomorrow usb sales will be included, i do believe that will boost her sales :)

other than that, what counts is the music. ayu's concerts are still sold out, she still is the queen of jpop. you people act as if she debuted at #20 in the charts. :/

It's just that TRICK hasn't sold 400k yet so like I'm wondering if Ayu will have the same fate :o Well at least she has another #1 album :yes unless DREAMS COME TRUE suddenly gets a spike in sales...:weep

How do you guys know the USB wasn't counted in the first day sales? Was there like a statement released that said the USB sales aren't going to be counted until the second day? Or are you guys just hoping that the USB sales will be counted in tomorrows sales?

also for me its not about TVXQ taking number one from ayu. i don't care - she's already lost her streak. I just hate TVXQ and don't even want them to be that high. they don't deserve it tbh!

It wasn't higher from the simple reason that kumi's index wasn't 1.7. :)
The estimated sales with x1.7 were 258,211 but the official first week sales were 253,346.
That shows that NL sold a bit at least more than TRICK's first day.
NL might sell less but it depends on the drops.

Ah I don't know whats with me today :( And damn you Oricon! my brain is messed up xD I am not really worried about DBSK as their sales drop faster than Ayu's :) Hopefully it'll be ok, but I am sure AVEX won't let DBSK sell more than her.

@SunShineSlayer - Yeah I kinda noticed Ku had a higher first day :( All we can hope for now is that Ayu's sales will stay above 70k tomorrow.

I'm quite statisfied with the sales and I love the album, which is the most important thing for me anyways. I think people need to stop comparing Ayu with boybands like ARASHI and TVXQ. Honestly, I think it's stupid to be comparing a solo artist with groups. What other Japanese female solo artist do you know that has been around for more than a decade and can still sell hundreds of thousands of albums? Some people need to get over themselves. :rolleyes :dead2
