Apparently on the 30th, during the "24-hour Television" event, Nishikido started to feel poorly and was running a fever. It seems he was even put on a drip. On the 31st, during filming for his drama "Orthros no inu", he complained that he wasn't feeling well again and turned out was running a fever of 39 degree celcius. He was admitted to hospital where he was diagnosed with Type A influenza. Yamapi was admitted the next day with a temperature of 38.2. It hasn't yet been confirmed if the virus is swine flu.

Body temperatures of Yamashita Tomohisa (24) and Nishikido Ryo (24) of NEWS, who were diagnosed with influenza A and are recovering at home, have just about returned to normal, it was understood on 2nd September. A representative of their agency Johnny's Jimusho has said that, "It looks promising". However, their return to work has "yet to be decided". The next episode of TBS drama "Dog of Orthros" (Fridays 10pm) starring Nishikido, is scheduled to broadcast on the 4th but [Nishikido] still has scenes which have not yet been filmed; TBS will make a decision about 4th September's broadcast on the 3rd.
