^Well, I hope i didn't sound like I was wanting a fight xD It's just that HS needed someone on its side u____ú :P

primavera♥ 22nd June 2010 08:55 PM

No its just peaceful dialogue (u could tell if I were arguing with u :P ) buti feel its going nowhere. :) and I'm on my phone and can't explain myself well. *fingers hurt*

amorphose 22nd June 2010 09:07 PM

There is not a single Hikki album I dislike, but HEART STATION is the one that felt the most underwhelming for me. I was so hyped for it, and when it came out I was like: =__=; It grew on me though and now I love it! It's a really great album~ I just don't want another one. HS's music is very "mellow" and I want something less mellow.

I'd love for something like Hikari and Passion (in terms of epicness) and I don't wanna sound like a Kingdom Hearts geek here, but those are such epic songs, in the literal sense of the word, no? I think it's because they were actually made to represent a story, you know? They just have that really classic, powerful sound~ I'd like a song like that.

Also, I hope to hear something that's like an ode to First Love (no Automatic Part III, please.) When I say that, I mean, I do wanna hear an R&B track, but not as forced as the R&B on TiTO. Maybe something like Movin' on without you meets traveling. Maybe listening to JASMINE a lot lately and being reminded of early Hikki with a modern J-R&B flare is the reason I'm feeling this way~

Oooh, and definitely something like SAKURA Drops. *o*; When I say that, I don't mean a carbon copy or anything, or even something that one could hear and be like "oh, this is similar to SAKURA Drops!" I just want something with that serene composition and Hikki's heavy vocals. Ughh.. :heart Pure love!!!

Sorry.. look at me going on a mini rant. :shakehead Can you tell I'm excited? xDD

We need to get this magazine now! I tweeted to U.Blog that we think it's from Smart Osaka. Hopefully he can get on it. x)

primavera♥ 22nd June 2010 09:20 PM

^the only track from first love to grace my fsvs list for hikki was Movin on without you. I love. The other tracks are meh. But if she can make something cool like jasmine. I would be happy (doesn't that sound backwards).

Ikr. Those songs tell a story. They're love. Especially for that

Still she doesn't have to be all one genrem er I mean old genres. She could try something new for variety to her disco

Nackar_91 22nd June 2010 09:36 PM

I guess it helps when Heart Station is the first album you hear. I hadn't heared Ultra Blue before that so I couldn't be dissappointed! XD.

CHE.R.RY 22nd June 2010 10:54 PM

The more I've taken a step back and really studied Hikki's discography...I've realized that ULTRA BLUE really is better than HEART STATION. HS was a masterpiece to me when it first came out, but after I gave it some time to sink and allow for the initial excitement to subside, I realized that UB was actually much stronger musically. Don't get me wrong, I love both albums a lot, but I just think UB was more diverse.

And for the older albums, they were good, but I like Hikki's electro sounding music a bit more. The R&B got a little monotonous after awhile. I just find her pop/electro sounding music to be more interesting to listen to.

Amorphose, can you remember the thread I made about buying all the Exodus singles?

Are you still willing to sell your copy of You Make Me Want To Be A Man? :)

Also rossbarney2003, are you willing to sell your CD+DVD promo-disc of YMMWTBAM?

Sorry for using the Hikki thread for this :P

Purple Neko 23rd June 2010 03:14 AM

If this new album thing is true I am going to FREAK OUT. And i dont even care what language its in lol! it could be in gibberish and i would still be excited! weeee~!

amorphose 23rd June 2010 03:28 AM

@Keiichi I'm willing to sell but I need to get my PayPal all straightened out. =_=; I haven't used it in ages... xD

About the magazine with the interview... It definitely wasn't the July issue of Smart. Here's scans of the whole thing:
http://www.zazhimi.com/shishangzazhi/smart-10-07.html

No mention of Utada. :(

Also, I don't think there's an Osaka specific version of this particular magazine. The only magazine I can think of that has different versions for different cities is Walker. I'm not even sure if that's a magazine or a newspaper. *sigh*

This is starting to look less true.

Hopefully the guy from last.fm can just take a pic and/or scan it or at least properly identify the magazine for us!

Purple Neko 23rd June 2010 03:31 AM

Boo. I want new stuff darn it! :(

amorphose 23rd June 2010 03:39 AM

Still, we'll just wait on Keiichi to get a response from that guy and hopefully we'll get a picture/scan or proper name. Looking at their correspondence, it totally doesn't look like the guy's lying at all!

Purple Neko 23rd June 2010 03:40 AM

I'm trying not to get my hopes up x3

Keiichi_JPU 23rd June 2010 09:52 AM

No, the guy is definitely not lying! on his last.fm profile I can see he is a big fan of Hikki, he's commenthing her stuff and listening to her music, etc.

I'm also waiting for him to scan something.. hope he will! :)

bluegie 23rd June 2010 11:05 AM

Oh well UB and HS comparison again.. But I guess there's nothing to talk about in hikki's world at this moment except the possibility of releasing a new (Japanese?) album.

Again I hope she'll do something different this time. After two albums with sync sounds I guess she's ready to go into another direction.

Well, I got into Utada when she released Colors, so... My fandom is 7 years old now, and I still prefer HS to UB, just cuz I find it more cohesive and polished... Even being a big Hikki fan, I can't help finding all of her pre-HS to not being cohesive... What is ok considering she still is very young for a musician :P

amorphose 23rd June 2010 05:24 PM

I agree, I think HS is definitely her most cohesive album. It's just not my favorite because the others just have more songs that I like. xD

No mention of Utada. :(

It's probably actually in the August issue, if I had to guess, because Japanese magazines come out considerably earlier than the month listed on them....

AyUta 23rd June 2010 05:58 PM

oooo, I hope he scans it soon!

I think First Love is actually the most cohesive album somehow, followed by HS. IMO Distance is still the worst album to date. I remember I listened to A BEST more than Distance when I got both albums.. :P.

primavera♥ 23rd June 2010 09:52 PM

^half the songs on First Love sound the same. its so easy to be cohesive (i dont mean theres no difference but theres not much variation on that album)

.. . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . .want confirmed info. but i believe it very well
