the full HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN album is already up for download here

Amazon Japan listed that the duration of the album's 48 mins :O

Beauty4123 10th July 2010 05:27 PM

just heard the album! HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN is such a great album! :cool my absolute favorite song is es.car, but i looove Driving Happy Life, Kiss Me, Shake My Heart, Please Stay With Me. and Cinnamon. but really, i guess i love the whole album overall :P YUI experimented with different sounds and i liked it!

i love all of YUI's albums, so even though i really loved I LOVED YESTERDAY, i won't compare it to this new album. at the end of the day, they're both great :D

KarenPang 10th July 2010 05:30 PM

I guess the hiatus worked for her because I detect quite a certain amount of maturity she displayed in HOLIDAYS IN THE SUN & also like what you said , she experiments more which's great <3

my younger sister & I are excited to get the album locally soon

After listened to full album, I kinda disappointed a bit.
I don't like the flow of this album, which is very up and down and so many sudden changes of mood, again and again. (From 'to Mother' to 'GLORIA')
From ballad to upbeat then slower song and then upbeat song again, I think that kind of flow didn't work for me.

Another thing, the album duration is no more than 50 minutes because the song mostly 3 minutes long, only 3 songs that has 4 minutes duration.
Too short for YUI, she can do better. Even though she experiments for every track on this album, still didn't satisfy my taste.

The album ended with Kiss me and it has fade out ending, which is a problem for me. I feel It's all too much is better if it's become the closing song.

The album is better when played shuffle I think, and my favorite track is es.car EPIC! :D

I think I LOVED YESTERDAY is better than this album.

I'm gonna download now, i can't wait

Just finished listening!
A very solid album! The single tracks are probably my favs but I like Please Stay with Me and Kiss Me and es.car as well!

LOL! 50 minutes is TOO SHORT? Have you looked at the average tracklist for your average album? That's my main problem with a lot of J-Pop records : They're too darn long with a lot pointless filler and songs that sound exactly the same. I'm glad she trimmed it down to a more sensible length.

x-megumi-x 11th July 2010 11:37 AM

Just listened to the new album. It's not as good as CAN'T BUY MY LOVE or FROM ME TO YOU but I like it much better than I LOVED YESTERDAY.
My favorite tracks are es.car, I do it, Please Stay With Me and of course the singles (It's all too much & again <3)

Umm...under 50 minutes!? That's quite short of standards - it seems that YUI is more sprint-style kind (some four minutes or less in songs), in contrast to Ayu, Kobukuro and such that they have songs that go to five minutes, maybe even more (such as Ayu's new "MOON" song that takes up five minutes and some 45 seconds), so what's the thing with YUI? A different style there? :no

Nackar_91 11th July 2010 12:54 PM

You take Ayumi and Kobukuro as examples? Writers of some of the most long-stretched songs ever with intros of over 2 minutes and God knows what? Not exactly the right choice XD.

45-50 minutes is a pretty normal length for an album. It might not be long but I definitely wouldn't call it short.

y_nathz 11th July 2010 03:18 PM

This is a pretty ok album for me, and uhh.. 45-50 minutes is enough I think, like for example Miyavi's Pops album was only around 43 minutes and it's still a good album
That's just my opinion though~

NintendoHTF1242 11th July 2010 03:19 PM

I hope you all realize that all of YUI's albums are under 50 minutes lol.

LOL Buce

anyway people do change musically as people grows older

I don't see anything wrong with it . You can't expect YUI to come up with the same stuff now which's the same as what she released initally when she debuted isn't it ?

if that so then it shows she didn't grow musically in any single bit

I call it short because I'm not used to it, because the average duration for every albums I've listened so far is never below 50 minutes, but your comments makes me feel so guilty and stupid for posting it here, thanks for your compliment anyway. :(

Aw, you don't have to feel stupid XD. Maybe you do only listen to artists with longer album, I was just pointing out that in general most pop/rock albums are around the 50 ^^

mellody 11th July 2010 10:20 PM

Ahaha, yeah, sorry for the previous post, after do some research, what you said is actually true, but I listened to every albums which has more than 50 minutes duration, that's why this album feel so short for me.

Thanks guys~ :D
