^ have u listened to blossom?
it has the old ayu feel :)

Max_ZZZ 16th July 2010 05:00 PM

the real question: is this song catchy enough to get the japanese public to make it #1? lol

Mirrorcle Monster 16th July 2010 05:09 PM

I hope there´s other song (or two) with PVs in the single

SURREAL__RAINBOW 16th July 2010 05:16 PM

I dunno why but I have the feeling crossroad is gonna be a b-side like RED LINE.

Though I'm pretty sure I'm going to be wrong xD

gallowsCalibrator 16th July 2010 05:19 PM

^ But wasn't MOON the one that we got the announcement for and it was the main song of the single? So maybe it's the same with crossroad? Or maybe Ayu wants to shake things up a bit ;)

amorphose 16th July 2010 05:19 PM

I don't think MOON or blossom sounds particularly like Asfxx era at all... :S Am I missing something? I think both songs have a great feeling of nostalgia and maybe it's making people nostalgic of old-Ayu... but I don't hear similarities.

The only similarities I find between MOON / blossom and anything else in Ayu's discography is that blossom sounds a bit like fairyland in the bridge.

I'd be so happy if you were right. :P

Ranma Matsuri 16th July 2010 05:23 PM

But the chaku uta was supposed to be for the 49th single, it wouldn't make much sense to give the preview of the B-side off of the single. Though the song honestly sounds like a B-side, lol.

Maybe you're having a nostalgic feeling because these songs are the comeback projects of Ayu's composer Hoshino Yasuhiko. He is the one who composed Poker face and A Song for XX. That's what i think.

I thought the guy who did A Song is Born composed Crossroad and that was previously the only song he's done with Ayu?

And why did everyone want "old school" Ayu when most everyone hated the albums A Song for XX and LOVEppears? :innocent

Who's this everyone you speak of? lol I'd love some more awesome stuff like SIGNAL, YOU (which Crossroad really reminds me of at of all the ASFXX tracks), POWDER SNOW, Fly High, appears~ and the list goes on. lol :luv2 Old school Ayu :heart

Same here. :D

That's the question that's bugging me. Does the Japanese public even remember old school Ayu enough for the nostalgia factor to work here? Is the song itself really single material? We'll find out soon after these messages--- lol, jk.

freedreamer 16th July 2010 05:26 PM

I totally adore the idea of going back to an older style. How it may work, we never know but I really feel for that intention and the music

MOON and blossom dont have THAT osund because of the rock...songs in ASFXX didnt have such a powerful sound. I hope she does rerecord ASFXX the song itself omg..using that same background music

gallowsCalibrator 16th July 2010 05:58 PM

@Ranma Matsuri Lol, I was just under the impression that barely anyone liked ASFXX and LOVEppears because in all the polls with "favorite albums" as the title, I see like, 1 or 2 people voting for those (^^);; And many members' least favorite songs are from those albums... (^^);;

Ranma Matsuri 16th July 2010 06:08 PM

@Captain K: OIC. I was pretty surprised at all the hate for Duty I've seen here. I guess it's not too far fetched that LOVEppears and ASFXX receive the same attention. T.T

My favourite album is loveppears!!

Anyways, I think most Japanese people really really prefer A Song for XX and Loveppears to Rock'N'Roll Circus, and anything after I am...

But I think people outside Japan really prefer the newer material.

I think most people don't like her voice on those albums...Which when the songs were re-recorded for her 10th, it was pretty welcome. :)

I could be wrong though...I like the nostalgic style combined with her current voice.

Kanzaki 16th July 2010 09:59 PM

You guys are making me feel horrible for being dissapointed.
It's not like I'm screaming "Damnit woman, go old-school!" she does things now and then I'm impressed by, but to me she's just not making the epic music that she used to.

primavera♥ 16th July 2010 10:21 PM

I think its just the neverending cycle that when ayu makes a song a certain fan doesn't like sometimes some fans tend to blame on the fact that its not like the old style. But when there's a asong in the "old" style they doont like they complain that she shouldve been more expirimental
Of course ayu trying new things gets complaints anyway. Like NL hate. People may complain it just doesn't sound like "ayu"

Imo. She's just ayu. Each era of her music is different. "Old" ayu is several different things. One can't just put her into a box of what her music should sound like

Anyway, I like this preview. Its the type of song that goes at the end of something I thought at first. But not competely. Its in the middle. Like crossroads. :) songs like this, my all, red line, replace, etc are pefect for certain moods
Of course its just a preview. I want the full and lyrics to determine it

Shirlaay 16th July 2010 10:30 PM

omg, sounds like the old days ayu, i'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but i hope it turns out to be something more epic than the preview.

Picaflor 7/4 16th July 2010 10:39 PM

I really don't get the old feel from any of these songs. I really couldn't imagine going back to 1998 and expecting ayu to do something like this. It seems more new than old.

I agree. It's totally different.

I think the song MOON sounds the most like is TO BE and not any song from ASFXX.
