Out of the two singles I've listen to, I really digged the AS Red single more than AS Blue single. "In the Night Sky" is probably the best song of them all cause it sounds like something I'll listen to at the beach sippin on some pina colada. "Hollywood" was pretty descent. The downpoint is whers's the "sexy concept" at? lol. Its probably just going to be MV from watching the teaser.

As for AS Blue, the songs are a little too cutesy for me. I'm just not digging it.

Oh my freaking gosh. My favorite songs are In The Night Sky and Lady. I think both groups absolutely OWNED. They did soooo well, and I am so happy.

Pledis responds to accusations of AS BLUE copying Fin.K.L.

After School’s new sub-unit AS Blue is caught in a controversy that allege they copied old school K-pop girl group, Fin.K.L.

AS Blue released their new song “Wonder Boy” on July 20th, and the song quickly garnered accusations of how it was too similar to Fin.K.L.’s 1999 hit song, “Forever Love“. Not only does the song have a similar concept, but the last line which states “Promise me” can also be found in Fin.K.L.’s work as well.

Pledis Entertainment explained,

It is true that we set Fin.K.L’s ‘Forever Love’ as the concept, since it had a huge ripple effect in the ’90s. However, we were only paying to the innocence and bubbly feel of ‘Forever Love’. We did not intend to cause a controversy over plagiarism.

‘Forever Love’ was able to receive much love because it had easy lyrics to sing along to and a fun melody. We wanted to recreate that positive effect through ‘Wonder Boy’.

‘Wonder Boy’ is a pop song that can be joyfully listened to, and is easy to sing along to. If you watch a performance, you will see that AS Blue has a own charm totally different from Fin.K.L’s.“

Unfortunately for AS Blue, their connection to Fin.K.L. isn’t the only controversy they have to face. The girls really sought to exude a sense of innocence in their image, but netizens were thrown off by how they donned white garter belts in the music video.

Many people are expressing that garter belts, often considered to be a sexy, if not racy fashion item, are inappropriate for AS Blue’s innocent and cute concept.

Omfg, seriously? Making a big deal out a concept, the words "promise me", and garter belts? Some people are just stupid. There's no reason for netizens to freak out. I liked the garter belts. Lol.

the little pinky promise move lizzy does at the "promise me" part is the same move ok juhyun does in forever love too. that one part was really famous, kinda the way sohee's "omona" in tell me was. it was the first thing i thought of when i watched the wonder boy MV but to me it was obvious that they were paying homage or whatever you want to call it, and not plagiarizing anything. i'm pretty sure the article was just written based on 4 or 5 troll comments like most "netizen opinion" articles lol

the garter belts look super cute to me

a short, two minute segment on After School aired on Mexican TV yesterday:

adantatu2 22nd July 2011 05:37 AM

^i love that tv show, they show 90 seconds of some random kpop group or artist every wednesday. When i saw them, i was really excited, but he said wrong info about them.
In the comments of the video, a fan said that the Pledis leader saw the video, and he wants to know what the tv show said! I can imagine After School in Latin american countries, it's a dream, but who knows !
sorry for any mistake with my english, i hope you can understand what im triying to say, lol XD

AyUta 23rd July 2011 04:48 AM

omg all the girls are looking so gorgeous :luv2 In The Night Sky is growing on me a lot!

freedreamer 23rd July 2011 11:55 AM

WHY DID THEY LOWER THE KEY FOR A.S. BLUE'S PERFORMANCE?!?!?!? AND THE SONG IS EDITED BEYOND RECOGNITION! WHERE'S E-YOUNG'S PARTS?!

and RED's performance was quite awkward..the song REALLY DOESNT SUIT omg...

why m i feeling so letdown :(

AyuHamasaki01 23rd July 2011 06:02 PM

were those comeback performances pre recorded?

I still don't see how RED's song fits the sexy concept. The dance was nice though. I wish Jungah did more adlibbing.
I wanted to see more E-Young too~~

drewbilation 23rd July 2011 06:33 PM

^ yeah, they were. A.S. Red apparently performed in front of some fans, but A.S. Blue prerecorded their performance without an audience.
