According to Soshified, "The ringtone and music video for the Japanese version of ”Oh!” featuring updated visuals is scheduled for release on September 14th."

I had a feeling it was going to be "Oh!" As the release date kept approaching and we had no information about the title track, I sarcastically kept thinking to myself, "They better be releasing a Japanese version of "Oh!" although I didn't actually believe they'd do it, especially since it's appearing on their 5th Japanese single after the release of their first Japanese album and it's repackage. Although I'm not surprised it's being released (many of us questioned why it wasn't released before as it was a favorite amongst their Japanese fans) I'm baffled as to why they waited so long. At this point in their Japanese career, I think many of us were expecting to get new original songs as title tracks moving forward (or at the least, a remake of a more recent song from their Korean discography) rather than a remake of a song released prior to "Run Devil Run" which was already released on their first Japanese album as well. Although I'm looking forward to hearing it in Japanese as it's one of my favorite songs from them, the timing of the release feels a bit off and in a way, I would have preferred a new song for a title track instead.

Yes! Oh! was my first Girls' Generation song and I loved it and the music video! :D Here's to hoping the Japanese version will be just as good.

As I expected, it is Oh! afterall
Oh! well let's see how it turns out, I love the song in Korean but I can't imagine the song in Japanese with those "Oppax2" line...

adantatu2 10th September 2012 06:25 AM

To be honest i prefer a japanese version of Oh! as title track than a slow and typical ballad (ALL MY LOVE.....).

But i think this is going to be their last remake, i don't think they could make japanese versions of their first songs (Into the new world, Girl's Generation, etc) or any album tracks (but if they make a japanese version of TRICK as single, i'll be in heaven)

sorry for my bad english :p

YESYESYES

THANK GOD.

I have wanted another cute concept from them for a long time. It used to be their signature but they've been spamming us with sexy concepts for quite some time now and it's getting boring.

I know it's not really a new cute concept/song but I'll take what I can get! I just hope it translates well and isn't all choppy like Gee was.

I wonder if it was a last minute change and maybe that's why it took so long for them to release the information. I'm pretty sure they said something like "2 brand new Japanese songs" on the TV news when they first announced the single.. Why say "Japanese" if it wasn't implied that it wouldn't be a remake? Why wait so long? Why not include the MV on the DVD as well? (well they did it already for Mr Taxi so I guess it's not really a new strategie or something)

I personally don't really care, we were going to get it anyways, if it wasn't as a single, it would have been in the new album. Better keep all the new songs for the album I guess :P At least it's a remake, and there's a b-side this time around!

I'm curious to see the covers now.. And I guess there won't be photocards either with this one..

ahtka-chan 10th September 2012 03:55 PM

Oh?

I thought they'd forget that song in the depths of SM's basement and never use it again but... oh well...

Oh! Music video

Kouyou 14th September 2012 12:15 AM

Hyoyeon looks so flawless! :luv2 I'm so glad she actually gets attention in this video, unlike with ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU. Not as good as the Korean version for me, but still really good. Thanks for posting!

bluegie 14th September 2012 01:50 AM

The song itself is not as energetic as the Korean version, but they are prettier in this pv (well most of them :P).

emi♡ 14th September 2012 01:56 AM

Yeah, I really like how they all look in the PV...but the japanese sucks and...yeah, not as energetic...makes it seem kinda draggy.

But yey for looking good.

adantatu2 14th September 2012 02:20 AM

I love this video !!! That's the reason i want Oh! as single, to be honest i really don't like the video for the korean version, but this is really good

love in music 14th September 2012 03:22 AM

It's so cheap. -Sigh-

CoriKaru 14th September 2012 03:29 AM

*unh*unh*unh*unh*oooomf*sleep*

That was me orgasming.

This song is what did it for me and this version just refreshes it and I like it.

Like Hyoyeon's look.
Yuri jumping at the end 'cause she's the "lucky star."
Sooyoung still looks like Michael Jackson.

Still they kept one of the Korean Lines in the song.

Thank you for posting the music video! I really appreciate that they tailored the video to be more age appropriate for them as I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't reflect their older age and more matured looks. Watching this video made me realize how much their looks have changed since the release of the Korean version, although it was only released two years ago (they were cute in the Korean video but look like young, college aged girls in this version). Overall, I really like both the song and the video although it was probably a given since the Korean version is one of my favorite songs from them, lol. Although Hyoyeon was under utilized in the "All My Love For You" music video, she had some redemption in this video as she really stood out and looked absolutely gorgeous!

AyuGAME 14th September 2012 05:27 AM

They looks cute and pretty...
but i think they are in the limit on this cutesy thing...their looks and style is on the limit with cutesy theme.
After The Boys and Paparazzi, and now Oh! with cheer leaders outfit and baseball kinda thing outfit...not really suit them anymore...
their image is changing a lot...

Love HyoYeon part...she looks sooo beautiful.

terra 14th September 2012 07:02 AM

It's unexpected for me but I love the PV :laugh though I prefer the colorful outfits from the original Oh!, but the Japanese version showed their cute yet mature style.

I couldn't help but notice the awkward solo shoot of the members XD and Sica with that humongous megaphone

I wonder what the album would be like, PAPPARAZZI, Oh! and ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU. I hope they pull another awesomeness like their debut Japan album :yes

bluegie 14th September 2012 07:36 AM

That megaphone is actually quite useless in the video. It should have been presented earlier, instead of just sticking it out for that part. And yeah, I found some solo shots are awkward too, especially Sooyoung's head shot after sica's megaphone part. I thought they would show Yuri's shot, but instead they showed Sooyoung with no reason at all... It's just weird..
