Your opinion isn't wrong and neither is everyone else. It's O.K. to like and not like something. For me the 2CD is just creepy and awful. For you, you like them and that is O.K. I agree that people here complain about everything now but I don't I give honest critique and I can honestly say I think the 2CD is her worst cover ever even worse than SUNRISE / SUNSET, (miss)understood and Party Queen, she just looks down right creepy :no and it's not fair to say that none of us here are going anywhere high in our lives I am I am on my way to becoming a great artist someday and have an art gallery in Beverly Hills. I understand it is a pain dealing with everyone complaining about everything here but just ignore it and then AHS will be a better place.

Lets go back to the real deal: the covers.

Well, the bigger cover distracted me a lot. It's not hurting my eyes (yet) but it's definetely awkward to look at. But I don't think they are the worst. It only looks like the cover is not ready yet. Thankfully, we have AHS to take care of that. Thank you for all the good fancovers! Still, I am looking forward to the release; eventhough I am not going to buy it.

BLUE BIRD is like a legendary cover! I have posters of Ayu in my apartment and when I had an after-bar party once, everyone's favorite was the BLUE BIRD one.

That just means that her team isn't doing their job properly and that her taste has deteriorated.

Her taste has deteriorated for whatever you think is good taste and same for what you think is a proper job. I always find that an interesting opinion.

I still think ayu has looked worse in past covers including just the way her face looks so I never know what to say overall about how good her taste is or what her team does. These two covers seem fine to me besides the awkward head angle. But I've already gotten used to it, now that I'm not picking it apart when I look at it.

I never see what so many fans see. I always feel like I'm missing out on something lol.

Honestly...I mean, I like the covers...even the scary distorted head angle has grown on me...

but idk I think it's easy to see why they'd annoy people :shrug


And actually...idk as much as I love the background and pose of the cd dvd one...I kinda prefer the smile a lot more over stupid duck lips....but meh. Duck lips never bugged me THAT much.

Could it simply be that no one on Ayu's creative team can give her an honest opinion on how they think the final product looks? "Oh yes, Ayu, it looks fantastic!" I mean, wth. Does Ayu herself even approve her final products of things? :/

I can understand people not liking them, especially given that they are not 'typical Ayu', however, I do think that we are in a new era, style wise, considering the controversy of PQ.

Personally, I love the covers, though I like the 2CD+DVD one more. I'm not bothered by duck lips. Ayu has always done them better than most.

Actually, for a while I was fairly convinced that Ayu surrounds herself by yes-men.

But I figure, if that's how she decides to run things, oh well.

I don't think we have enough information though about all this stuff.

Even if surrounded by "yes-men", and even if she is the one who first conveys the idea of what she wants, I wonder whether or not she actually sits there as the artist airbrushes her skin, adjusts colors and adds all manner of special effects. Because if she doesn't, then that means that she is brought the product later, and chooses from a selection handed to her by her artists. And those artists should be doing a WAY BETTER JOB if that's the case.

It is a very bad sign when the average photoshop user on Tumblr or elsewhere can produce something better or make modifications that are a vast improvement.

You know I just don't know how people on her team, even herself, can't stop and take a look and say "we can do better." I mean, isn't Ayu a perfectionist?

*Sigh* she looked good in FIVE covers. Now she looks more airbrushed than a big mac in McDo's ad.

At least in the McDonald's ads the airbrushing makes the food look more appealing...

I don't think she's surrounded by yes-men and can't make an honest decision for herself. I think she genuinely liked the final product. She knows how to take a good picture with good direction. So I can't help but think this is what she was going for. It's obvious ayu's taste is different from our own.

I don't think you need to be a genius to notice she DIDN'T want a natural result... Not only because of the airbrushing, but also the colors... She probably wasn't going for a photo-like result on this.

And the only fan-made cover over here I actually liked (besides ExodusUK's and RayJonson's that are made of love <3), was the ones that just softened the colors... As the color seens to be different on the small version posted on her official webside (and as this larger one wasn't posted there), I believe it will like the same on the actual product.

Honestly, I feel like she was just going for the & feel.

It's like, natural as far as the make up/clothes, but so not natural lol Just like, I mean, & is "natural" but so not natural when it comes to everything else.

To me it's just & x this era Ayu.


I think she can make an honest decision for herself...and I do think she likes her final products. She is always hyping everything...but I still think she's surrounded by people who tell her yes, regardless if they agree or not. But that doesn't mean they don't have an opinion either. I dont think it matters all that much. I think she has a strong presence in what photos are chosen and she probably respects the art directors enough to use their best judgement when doing photoshopping/effects/text placement.
