For me, Ayu write feel the love because she wanted to do such kind of music after she was attending to the korean *stuff* festival (can't remember the good name). It makes her want to create that kind of music.

& People, let's complainers complain & let's dance together all night :bshake:vbhappy

personally i think the composing part, the melody is very nice, the thing that bugs me is the megh arangement. It could have been a great piece of work.

I think for the most part people who ahve been fans for more than 3 years are harder to be impressed with the work a singer releases. I too, noticed, that new stuff gets my attention for at the most a month then i just get borred, or go back to the stuff i love lol

Nobody else that I can remember is doing upbeat 90's jpop right now... A lot of people are doing EDM, but they are mostly copying the USA trends, and because of that, they are sounding very western.

I'm sorry, (not sorry), but I LOVE this song~

I think it was the Ultra Music one where she met Armin?

I have no idea what she's saying, haha.

Seems as though some articles hinted at this EDM/dance music release.

i'm just saying. not saying everyone is like that, but sayin that majority might be.

Hm...tbh I'm SUPER skeptical about the track with VERBAL though...like...it doesn't seem like ayu.

I think it'll be great, though it was something she should have considered back in 2005-06 during height of the m-flo loves era.

VERBAL is super creative linguistically (the way he manipulates several languages in a single track is just phenomenal), and the m-flo duo as a whole is pretty good about staying true to the style of their fellow artist as opposed to converting them to their style. =)

truehappiness 29th October 2013 02:25 AM

Maybe she refused back during the "loves..." era?

I believe it'll be good. Ayu tracks for the dancefloor? Sign me up!

I do like VERBAL...sometimes. It's usually hit or miss for me. I've heard songs with Namie, Sowelu, Crystal Kay, Nicki Minaj, Miliyah, and Thelma Aoyama, and I've only liked a few. I just wonder if this song is gonna sound like really hip-pop or what.

Did we get a description of Merry Go Round besides that it will feature him?

truehappiness 29th October 2013 02:48 AM

Merry-go-round is a 'prime dance floor' track, whatever that means. Whatever it is, it'll probably be heavier than Feel the love, which is an 'uplifting tune' which fits very well. I think it'll be closer to Sparkle than You & Me.

Also mesmeresque@Tumblr translated the lyrics of the short version so far...

It sounds like she wrote this as a way to deal with her relationship with Maro/Mannie (kind of) and her current(?) relationship with that Caucasian guy.

Quote:

feel the love…
you and me…
night ‘n’ day…

feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night

when I turn down the next corner
I’m gonna let out the biggest smile and laugh
worry shakes me deep inside
and it feels like my spirit is about to break, but

I’m gonna follow the wild beat of my heart
why can’t that be most important right now?
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
feel the love, feel the love - we can dance all night
you and me, you and me - we can feel the love tonight
you and me, you and me - we can feel the love tonight

I don’t say “told you so” or anything
but I often hear things like
"isn’t it time you developed better judgment"
really now, what is ‘proper love’ anyway

is there anybody out there who isn’t straying from it?
there still exists memory to save the past, so

Pieces_of_SEVEN 29th October 2013 02:49 AM

^awesome, thanks for that! Now, just wish we could get a HQ cover of the A BEST LIVE DVD/Blu ray...

gogirlanime 29th October 2013 11:21 AM

I dunno how I feel about this, it sounds like a remix version. That said, since I love her remixes I don't mind this song, but it sounds like a remix and I feel this yearning to hear the "original" but I'm not going to complain it's a new release in godly-forever. This is the best she's done since the release of "again" because the "LOVE again" album-only tracks in my opinion were the worst in her career (just my opinion sorry... I NEVER listen to them) so it's nice to see some new upbeat and techno-y songs from Ayu again. This redeems You&Me because I hated that song too.

pimenta 29th October 2013 11:25 AM

I think people are overthinking about this song. I don't think Ayu was trying to do her best nor release a masterpiece (if she was, she wouldn't have worked with DJ Hello Kitty to start with), I think she just trying to have fun. She got this silly and catchy melody, then got the opportunity to work with DJ Hello Kitty, and I guess she just thought it would be a fun experience, and it was, we have a silly yet very catchy pop song that is not at all hard to get into. You just have to forget all this idealism about wanting Hamasaki Ayumi to only release masterpieces, and listen to this song more open minded and without thinking too much about it. Why can't she have a little fun? She's not a built robot designed to be the empress of pop who shall only release epicness even after 15 years... Sometimes I think people idealize Ayu's image way too much >_<

I suggest listening to them more. They are growers and don't really catch attention at first listen except maybe Bye-bye darling.

This :yes

rainbow_smile 29th October 2013 09:52 PM

I think every Ayu album has at least one "not masterpiece", so I don't anything bad in releasing songs like this once in a while as a single, especially considering that Japanese public seems to like this type of songs.

Maraschino 30th October 2013 06:35 AM

Actually, it is over my expectations.
I love the arrangement, it saves the dumb melody!
