lol, I don't think that Terminal can be counted into this equation for numerous reasons.

Why? We've always counted Daybreak, Oricon has always counted Daybreak

Because it doesn't show the true sales/state of how she is doing in general, like Daybreak didn't. Maybe it got 2 but she still outsold that single many times after it was released. Even Up to 2006 (talking about Daybreak).

She is still no misono.

This single doesn't show her true state either, because she has more fans than the ones that buy this release, more people go to her concerts than buying her CDs

For example if just "a lot of her fans" would have bought "What is forever love / NOW&4EVA" it would have sold 59,000 just for the people going to her concert last day

ayumisrael 13th February 2015 05:32 PM

There are always more fans or people who will go to concerts than that are buying releases. Otherwise artists couldn't tour much.

ayu covers 35,000 in 2 shows.

Kinda sad that she used to sell millions so easy. well at least she's still selling pretty good.

Delirium-Zer0 23rd February 2015 03:54 PM

Meh, sales are down for everybody. Back in the 90s it was nothing remarkable to reach six-figure sales numbers, and million sellers were all over the charts.

If you don't take into account how far down EVERYONE's sales have dipped, Ayu's numbers look disastrous, but Ayu is still performing admirably even if she's not a pop culture phenomenon anymore.

Makes me think that in the 90s if you had a hit or two you could become an instant rich person lol.
