The meme looks better and fits more the tour theme than the actual covers lmfao

wednesday 4th March 2019 04:05 AM

I don't think that the covers are bad per se... they are more of a homage to the typical R&B albums of the time. And at that time they could be pretty ugly and cheesy. The 80s and 90s had some pretty bad looks :laugh

Corvina 4th March 2019 06:10 AM

Yeah, and the triangle and the half-hidden neon colours binds it together with AND Tour and also W FACE Tour (which already had a 80's theme, though in another direction).
If you look at the concepts of the albums and tours you can see that Kuu and her team pretty much see the years 2017 and 2018 as one big cycle.
Though I also think it's a pity that the "looking back in the past, but also forward into the future"-mix of the DNA album and tour is not really visible in the covers.

That Kuu and her team are usually planning way ahead is really visible in stuff like that.
And we know from her FC blog, that she and her team already roughly planned new starting now till 2021.

Idk if you guys noticed, but the tours being 80's themed for two double albums, which are dealing with Kuu and her development and her identity, can't be a coincidence - she was born in the early 80's after all.

I just send them a mail about the video release, I hope they'll answer it soon because I really want it.

I just saw that some people are commenting at Kuu's instagram about this issue, so maybe someone of her staff or she herself read the comments.

They apologize for the delay, but don't mention why.

KLJames 7th March 2019 06:47 PM

Koda Kumi × UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN limited edition collaboration goods

https://i.postimg.cc/1RCJw7DK/news-t...ge-1070741.jpg

For now , prices are not stated , only the goods' designs have been released

https://rhythmzone.net/koda/news/detail.php?id=1070741

The Parka probably will be the most expensive item out of the lot and it's so nice that Rhythm Zone + Universal Studios sign a deal together in the creation of these goods as they're really cute

Kinda make sense as this year's the 50th anniversary of Sesame Street . I personally like the design of the acrylic key chain the most

And I like Elmo too so that helps ;D

Diva_br 8th March 2019 09:40 PM

I want the keychain *_* and one T-shirt, the design is sooooo cute :heart

Party_King 9th March 2019 12:02 AM

OMG i really hate the goods… same Level as ayu x Smiley last year haha :D

Corvina 9th March 2019 09:31 AM

The countdown is finished!
They revealed a game to play to finish what the tour has started!

News on the official site:
https://rhythmzone.net/koda/news/detail.php?id=1070714

Goods and game site:
https://shop.mu-mo.net/st/special/koda2018/

It's 3 stages and if you clear every stage there will be limited bonus items you can get(for every stage).
Shipping out is planned for mid May for the bonus items of stage 2 and 3 (production after order).
The bonus items of stage 3 are items with a special illustration - details not revealed.

It's cute, cause they made a story out of it:
Clear all 3 stages and save Kloop!
After Kuu and Kloop parted ways with the DNA fighters and tried to return back to realtiy from the VR world, a tragedy happened...
Someone initiated a cyber attack and Kloop got infected with a virus.
The hijacked Kloop turned into Mad Kloop.
With the bond of Kuu AND her fans as power, can you rescue Kloop?

Here's the time frame for playing:
【93→39 PROJECT】STAGE 1
開催期間:2019年3月9日(土)18:00~2019年3月31日(日)18:00

【93→39 PROJECT】STAGE 2
開催期間:2019年3月9日(土)18:00~2019年6月30日(日)18:00

【93→39 PROJECT】STAGE 3
受注期間:2019年3月9日(土)18:00~2019年3月15日(金)18:00

Interesting fact of the title of the project:
If you translate the puns the title is made of it bascially says "Kumi thanks you"-Project (as well as being a play with the dates).
The cinema goods are now available for purchase on the mu-mo site.

EDIT:
Just started playing the 1st stage and it's a game where you answer questions about Kuu and her career!
So you can only play it if you can understand Japanese.
But it's short - I'm done and the bonus of stage 1 is 39% off from the goods (also the "old" DNA tour goods, including sold out ones, and even goes back till the Artist).
The limited bonus items are the bonus for stage 2 and 3.

Spoiler:

I've played through it。Some of the questions are really obnoxious - like "what was the colour of the penlight of the Kingdom Tour 2008", lol. (it was green btw.) The questions for stage 3 are really hard, like "what was the name of the collaboration shop that was open for only one day on November 23 2005?". How should I know, just became a fan about a year later and couldn't talk any Japanese. :laugh
Or "What was the name of the Takoyaki sweets available at the exhibition for her 15th Anniversary in 2015?" - that I know, cause I was there - 倖田焼.
The bonus goods for stage 2 are Gachas 2.5 - the gachas part 2 as keychains instead of stands.
The bonus goods of stage 3 are e.g. iPhone cases in the form of a shirt and another round of keychains.

The modelpress interview is up now!
https://mdpr.jp/interview/detail/1825978

It's a long one- if I find some time I gonna try to summarize next week.

------------------------------------------------------------

The special-greeting-screenings are today.

The team of Aeon Cinema welcomed Kuu with personal messages.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...923/rpBxed.png

And she's teasing laughing a special guest here.

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...923/YevXW7.png

What or better who to expect? :laugh

EDIT:
And damn, the Gachas are alread sold out online.
That was fast.
But it's already noted by her team on the goods site they plan to restock 03/18.

Corvina 9th March 2019 03:25 PM

Pics and article about the screenings today:

https://mdpr.jp/cinema/detail/1826514

The special guests were some of her dancers (OOBA、AKO、SHOWKO、minami)!

https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/8...923/8e9hMM.jpg

The cinema screenings are done with a special editing for large screens and 5.1 dolby surround sound.
Kuu got the idea of doing it when she had the screening of AND Tour at a cinema for her fans.

According to fans who went to the special screenings today, Kuu also said there's going to be an announcement in April!

I'm ok that you isn't included, it's been performed many times before. Sucks that kokoro kara i love you is not there, as we only have one live performance of it but I'm glad that Winter Bell is included and not once but twice. I love that song.

Hopefully, that's enough copies sold to warrant us more Driving Hit's albums in the future. 9 has really grown on me after a few plays. Someday (litefeet Remix), Koi no Tsubomi (Adolfo De La Torre Casmartino Remix) & kokoro kara i love u (MATZ Remix) are my top 3 favourite remixes.

you was included in the footage for the FC live video ticket and they made it available for everyone to buy afterwards.
Winter Bell on the other hand wasn't included there.
Probably the reason it's not on the release, but Winter Bell is.

Kokoro kara was regularly switched with Aenaku, so it's just bad luck we didn't get it for the release or the CDL.
Would have loved to have it on the release, too.
But it was included in the footage of some dates of the live video ticket as well.

Some interesting points:
- YKBX,who did the Dance In The Rain PV and VR stuff, also did all the mapping and programming and consulting for Kuu for the LEDs at DNA Tour.
- She thinks that there are not many artists doing grand Las Vegas like shows in Japan, so she sees it as close of being like an import of entertainment from her part. She keeps having her antennas out to bring various stuff she's inspired from together to Japan and keeps doing stuff you hardly can see elsewhere in Japan (like doing the stunts of the shows herself or doing the VR Dance In The Rain in 2013).
-High power shows get harder every year, but she wanna keep doing them as long as she can. DNA Tour has a lot of dancing and even though she likes learning choreographies the least, she thinks practice is the key. Somethig small can turn into something gorgeous like that.
- Selling tickets with live footage access was a new thing and Kuu is aware such new things always go through trial and error. It was hard work for everyone, cause every date was filmed and the tension was high for every date because of that and the footage had to be looked over and cutted till the next day. Kuu was the one overviewing and picking footage herself, but also her team gave their all. She mentions, that she has an excellent team right now! Despite the hard work, those tickets with footage were popular among fans.
- The bonus DVD inlcudes the MC of the filmed date and also birthday messages of her team and the fans made for her.

And here's some stuff from the modelpress interview:
- Her first CDL had good and unpleasant sides. Her lifestyle changed with her having a family and she usually gets up at 7 am and goes early to bed now, so she didn't know how singing and performing so late would go. But at the beginning of her career she performed in clubs at night a lot and that experience helped her now.
Overall the CDL itself was a lot of fun.
- Kuu was really excited to go on tour without the band this time. It meant there would be less people on stage, so it was a bigger challenge. She wanted to surprise the fans and introduced moving LEDs for that.
- She had troubles with the LED system till right before the first date. So she was worried if she could bring the show to the fans in the best condition. When the first dates went well, she and her team were relieved.
The LEDs show different views depending on the angle you look at it, so people could enjoy if from every seat.
That was one big point Kuu wanted to achieve this time, that everyone can it enjoy as much as possible.
-She says starting with W Face Tour in 2017 she has no (stage) director anymore and is doing that herself now.
- She wanted the two tours in 2018 to be different, so AND had a band and had the focus on the music, while DNA only had dancers and focused on the perfromance and visuals.
- There was one date where she failed the aerial performance and did it again in the MC. Shows are live after all and you never know what happens, but the fans pay for seeing the same performance, so she wanted to make it right.
- She thinks the best way to experience Kuu and her music is through live performances.
- Her family is the source of her energy to go on and try new things, so to grow as a person and an artist.
- Connected to DH's 9 she says that Instagram is a great way to get impressions by fans directly.
-Creating new music after completing a tour is always a hard step. She has to get input first before she can create output again.
- For Kuu its very important to work with different people, cause different people work differently like different vocal coaches teach differently. That's why she e.g. went to Vegas to have vocal lessons. But this is also true for interacting with people in general on a personal level.

Driving Hit's 9 has stopped charting on Oricon :s

https://www.oricon.co.jp/prof/259698...cts/1307741/1/

That's quite unfortunate as the previous Driving Hit's remix albums charted at least 3 weeks or so on Oricon unlike 2 weeks :x

Is Kumi a meme again now? lol A friend retweeted this account today and I'm impressed by how many followers it has
