Reread what I typed! It was in the press release that she worked with Tricky Stewart and Stargate on ALL of the tracks and none solely by herself. You said you were disappointed because she didn't work on any solely by herself. I'm saying that there was no reason to be disappointed because we already knew that she didn't work on any by herself! I said "Denial?" because it was already written about -- it seemed that a lot of people were still wishing and not reading the words for what they were.
And the whole purpose of her working with them, she said, was that her sound would come through (though it is arguable whether this comes out in the finished product). It was more of them taking a back seat and not being so prominent of production (like Timbaland) so that the album would be "her" -- did you read the Ningin article that you posted? She wrote all of the music without compromising on melody and lyrics, participated in the arranging (even going so far as to redo chord progressions produced by the two teams). If that is not being the main influence, I don't know what is. |
