I personally don't like seeing the same thing for..what..one and a half minutes straight and three-four minutes total? She's being doing that a lot lately.

one minute scene - 10 seconds different - one minute scene - etc.

That's awfully boring, and a good director should know this.

Her PVs back in the days of MY STORY were superb, imo. About You has so many different images, but they all fall together nicely. This PV has only three different images (or four, max) and they don't even fall together. Lol.

Of course there are exceptions to long scenes being boring, but that's not the case here.

[edit] Actually, her (m)u and Secret PVs were still good (Ladies Night, JEWEL, rainy day, 1 LOVE) but it has sort of gone down hill with Secret (Startin', Born To Be...), even further down hill with GUILTY and hit rock bottom with her recent videoclips. :') On the other hand, it can't get any worse than recently so she can only stay on the same level or improve.~

And why are her bloody dancers in EVERY PV lately? I don't LIKE your dancers, Ayu. I like YOU. That's why I'm fan of YOU and not "Ayumi Hamasaki & dancers". =_= I'm sure you have a lot of fun at the set, but how about making a good PV next time.

And Shuya is fattish and not hot.

That's actually almost exactly what I was going to say! I had typed up a message but that annoying "AHS is down!" message popped up when I tried to post it. :P

But yeah, I was going to say, it's boring because she's doing the same thing for long periods of time. And About You was actually the PV I was thinking of as an opposite to that while I was writing my original message! :P Her older PVs had more going on, more different scenes, more variety. Nowadays it just seems like her PVs keep falling into this pattern of Ayu doing one thing for over a minute at a time. Boring.

The PV was at least well directed and edited, thinking back to the Mirrorcle World/GREEN nightmares that Kazuyoshi spat out. It's a big step up from those, she hit rock bottom with him.

You can't help it if people find it boring, nothing to do about that. I personally found it entertaining though, it had different interesting small elements like the bird, the sword, the masks that come off and such. I thought the dance segments with the dancers doing solo dances were executed well too.

haha, I know, it gets tiring. :) If someone really is saying something inappropriate, then thats wrong, but I really don't think anyone stepped over the line here when saying what they disliked about the PV.

What bothered me was people not being able to say what they really thought of it without getting belittled and sworn at and then other people laughing and joining in as if that type of behavior is ok. Especially tanachu calling people *****es who don't know **** even though that person has as their signature a quote about how its important to respect other forum members...

I don't want to sound offensive either, but I do think there is a bit of a point there. That's of course generally speaking - its not always true. But even I'll admit that when I first got into Ayu I was like that as well.

omg....Kazuyoshi sucks so much! He ruined MW and green! Anyways, I watched rule pv a few times now and I like it more. The second half of the pv is really entertaining. I hope ayu's upcoming album pvs will have atleast one director that's not Ishii or Kazuyoshi...I'm seriously kinda sick of them. Hopefully Kazuyoshi is Luis Hernandez #2...gone after 2 pvs.

I'll make my opinion short and to the point.

I really like this PV! I'm not crazy about it like, "Whoa! Ayu is so awesome!!" However, I am very impressed with it. She looks hot, the symbolism is returning (if not just as great, or better), the choreography is fantastic, and the song itself (once again) is amazing.

I'm really loving this. How does she manage to always stay on top of things? :D

And do you even know what is CONSIDERED GOOD in the context of asian culture? ayu's expectations for her PVs isn't same as your's dear :). She said RULE PV is good and why bother talking so much here... haha.

I challenge ANYBODY who hates the PV for Rule to do the following:

Watch Koda Kumi's JUST THE WAY YOU ARE PV consecutively three times and I GUARANTEE two things:

#1) You'll be fascinated with her nose...the first time, fall asleep during the second time, then wake up the third time with a severe headache.

or most likely...

2) You will die of a seizure brought on by boredom...

With that being said...in comparison to that ---insert the lovely term for dog crap here--- Rule is the better PV.

(And Kuu fans, please refrain from referring to the Ayu-ken technique as seizure inducing. Ayu already has a video dedicated to that. It's called Born to Be...)

btw my two favorites are Utada and Ayu. Three and four can be Kuu and Leah.

I hated the Jeweled Ayu with the bewildered expression. It was out of place and not representative of the bird in any way. On the other hand the dance at the end is pretty cool and Ayu looked great.
