Wait....O_o what happened to the streak? Didn't Guilty get #1?

And...even if the USBs are included....it's only like +7k sales right? ....@_@ DOesn't seem like too much

Can't wait for 2nd day sales! I hope there won't be huge drop...

I've just added 2nd (CD+DVD) copy of NEXT LEVEL to my order to support Ayu & increase my collection. :D

ayumisrael 25th March 2009 10:04 PM

It got #1 for one week out of two combined first year weeks but at the final two weeks overall it got #2 so ayu lost her original albums streak.

She still can have more #1 studio albums, I don't think that because her streak is broken she shouldn't get #1s from studio albums anymore, that's really not a reason.

Namie....:)

Utada too. Her current sales are a fluke I think. But is this even really the point? I'm just really surprised that her first day sold basically the same as Trick did, even though Trick had less versions to sell. That's disappointing.

Yeah now she is, but after a period of years were she had not so nice sales, to put it nicely. Some of her releases couldn't break 100,000. (and some didn't even break 50k) Ayu has never charted that bad.
Edit: And no, I'm not really trying to make some big point or argue with you, SunshineSlayer. Sales don't mean that much to me, but some people are acting like this is soo awful. Someone said that these are the worst sales and others are literally upset that it sold so "bad". I am just sick of people always acting like Ayu's sales are horrible because Ayu is so unpopular or something. It's tired.

Lee_Hamasaki 25th March 2009 10:16 PM

namie didn't sell for mroe than a decade well with album...
and koda kumi sell really less than ayu with both single and album

That's just 1 more version though (since the USB still isn't counted).
We could also talk about last year's Kingdom that sold just like 65,000 more than GUILTY and had 3 versions while GUILTY had 2 (also Secret and (miss)understood had 2 and BEST ~ss~ and Black Cherry had 3) but that's going way over to the past.
We also aren't share how well the CD only or the CD+DVD versions sold because maybe they didn't sell high too (they weren't charting high on pre-order sites anyway). It is a bit dissapointing in TRICK's comparison but we shouldn't overate the 3 versions at the moment (excluding the USB at the moment still it wasn't counted yet).
Hopefully though it will help the drops to be smaller.

AYU IS DOING FINE.

Oh...what a bummer......so it was just bad release date then =\ ....oh well, she still has the record for the most consec #1 albums right? :] ....No prob no prob.

njanjayrp 25th March 2009 10:32 PM

yeah I wouldn't over-rate the USB version as it most likely won't even sell a lot. So both TRICK and NL have 3 version that will actually sell.

But you are talking singles now, and not albums - not to mention the fact that Namie has been around a lot longer than Ayu has. Namie has already seen the bottom of her sales - Ayumi hasn't yet I don't think. And yes, I can understand your frustration, but its not like people here are making totally inaccurate points either.

I thought Trick only had 2? At least I only saw two when I was over there.

They were talking about albums not singles. All of Namie albums sold over 100k. But you are right about her single sales.

Really how do you guys know they haven't counted the USB version in already?

It wasn't a bad release she released other albums on January 1, and still go #1 B'z just sold more that it. And yeah she still has the record with BoA and Utada right behind. BoA more than Utada though.

In fairness, considering Oricon aren't counting the USB's yet. Koda's 2 versions compared to Ayu's 3 versions... it's not THAT bad :P

I think it's quite good sales. Every day I'll be checking this thread with my fingers crossed lol

They distributed them only today (a day after the CDs are put in stores). Therefore they will count them today (in tomorrow's shown charts).
Also the encore press will be only counted in April in their own distribution day.

~Inori~ 25th March 2009 10:44 PM

^I thought the USB was only available online.

Emperatriz Ayumi 25th March 2009 10:45 PM

Wow!!!! 99,200 copies !!! Thatīs a lot!!

I hope she will sell more than a million copies!:yes:yes:yes:

Ayumiko 25th March 2009 10:46 PM

I still don't like the idea that 2cd+dvd, cd+dvd, and cd only have really identical covers. It would certainly help the sales if they were different like Trick, Play or the secret code....I would of bought all 4 instead of just 2.

Anyways, hope tomorrow's sales won't drop too too much.

But I haven't seen this written anywhere official. It seems more like supposition at this point. Anyways, bottom line for me at this point: When you look at the sales alone, they don't look too bad. But then in comparison to Trick, they don't look that good. We'll see what happens late tonight.

SpiceSquad! 25th March 2009 10:52 PM

OMG!! so low!!

but its ok! SPARKLE still rocks! this single saves NEXT level!
