they can't sell as well as their seniors/juniors ARASHI & KAT-TUN though unfortunately

Maybe hairstyles do help. (They do have better hair than NewS)

I think it all boils down to how well each band promote themselves & NEWS's the only Johnny's group that doesn't host a show of their own so that somehow crippled their selling ability to a certain extent

you know, i can write an essay about how NEWS doesn't sell as much as Arashi/KAT-TUN. & LOL, KANJANI8's even selling more than them now.

but i'll just say they're doing pretty well for a group that doesn't have the tie-ins or the attention from the company as their better selling co-workers. 200k+ isn't even that bad for a single, especially now if "Koi no ABO" is the #6 best-selling single of the year atm.

that's the problem with poor NEWS

no big movie or drama tie in . If they were to sing for like say Last Friends , they might boost their popularity but alas :(

well.....i don't think NEWS could've fit the atmosphere that is "Last Friends". i thought it was better that Utada Hikaru got the theme song. it's the same with Arashi for "Smile" too. i don't think an Arashi song could fit the racial discrimatory atmosphere of the drama theme. it's probably why they tapped Ms. Shiina Ringo for that.

but they could've done "Pro Dai" theme song, easily, imo though.

but they sang "Taiyou no Namida" for the Kurosagi movie. YamaPi, by himself, sang "Daite Senorita" for the drama series.

I don't know why, but when I hear NEWS and ProDai "Happy Birthday" pops up. ^^; It's about birthdays, but it somehow gives off a wedding feel. Maybe because of the PV. lol

NEWS seem like the neclected stepchild of JE. JE should find a niche and give them a proper image.
