I don't know what sort of source that is but according to MTV:

she (nor MTV) never said anything about the song not being on the album, just the video not connected to the album! But we will see, I hope the song's on the album cause it's ****ing amazing.

ストロボ・EdGE 30th September 2010 11:50 PM

^Me too, it'd suck for it not to be there. It sounded like it wasn't going to be on based on that MTV article though.

And lol at your last.fm player being Who's That Chick seven times in a row. :P

If that is true, I love most of the track name. Lots of sexual idea, tho.. (e.g S&M,California King (Bed), and Man Down) :lech:lech:lech

omg whateva, it's a good song!

ストロボ・EdGE 1st October 2010 03:50 AM

I really like it too. Actually, even more than Only Girl. I realllly want it to be on the album and for it to be a single... so many awesome songs were snubbed from being singles on Rated R, and others that actually made it as singles were wrongfully turned down by the public.

Rockstar 101 and Te Amo didn't even chart on the Top 40. :dead2
And Firebomb sooo deserved to be a single, though I think it would've been even more looked over than those two.

So excited that the album is only a month and a half away! *_____*

ABSOLUTELY! Fire Bomb is such an amazing song... Photographs as well..

ストロボ・EdGE 2nd October 2010 12:11 AM

I remember going to buy the CD because I loved Firebomb and wanted to have the booklet with the lyrics and I was upset when I opened my CD and there were no lyrics, only a link to her site... Then I saw that she was naked on all the pictures and I was happy again~

Rockstar 101 didn't chart in the Top 40 because it really wasn't a quality song. It was bland and boring.

Te Amo didn't chart in the Top 40 because it was not released in America.

Kingdom 2nd October 2010 04:58 PM

^ there are plenty of "bland" and "boring" songs that chart in the US, and imo Rockstar is neither, it's just not a good single.

That is the product of her being BFF with Katy!

can't wait for the collab on LOUD with Nicki Minaj called "Raining Men"

The lyrics are definitely by far the most generic of any singles she's released.

Either way, Rihanna was the one who pushed for it to become a single. Had she just let them release "Te Amo" or release "Fire Bomb" instead of "Flopstar 101", the Rated R era probably would have gotten another single

I don't think Te Amo for Firebomb would have done well either, she could have had success with another upbeat song like Rude Boy but it was no where to be found on the album.

ストロボ・EdGE 2nd October 2010 05:34 PM

I loved Rockstar and its music video, but it's understandable why it didn't get any success.

I thought Te Amo was an international single, but yeah, it was released as a single everywhere except the US and Canada so that explains that.

What was you guys' favorite MV from Rated R?

01 Te Amo
02 Hard
03 Rockstar 101
04 Russian Roulette
05 Rude Boy

Picaflor 7/4 7th October 2010 01:26 AM

I would have liked te amo if it wasn't for the video killing it. "I'm a woman and I'm going to make out with another hot woman. Neither of us are lesbians but guys think this is really hot." You're never going to see 2 hot guys doing it. >> That'd get shot down as fast as you can say "Telephone".

however, I am in love with her song "who's that chick" and that other new song "only girl in the world" or something like that. I love how as time goes on, her music gets more dancey. hhe

So Te Amo's MV sucks because of a viewpoint people have already? lol
The song is about a girl dealing with another girl being in love with her, so hey, one of them is a lesbian. The video contradicts that though... it was meant just to be sexy.

I don't really have a problem with it, I'm just sick over all of all this "women on women" action. She's not the first, nor the last to do it. It's like, yeah yeah we get it, hot-sexy-lesbian action woop. The song is kind of funny though. It's like "Omg. She said 'te amo' to me. omg omg what does that mean?!?!" lol

ストロボ・EdGE 7th October 2010 05:40 AM

She went into pretty far territory with it though... I've only seen Lady Gaga do something around the likes of it, but not for an entire video. But yeah, a lot of female artists have done the HOTLEZBIAN thing. Britney, Katy, Christina, Gaga, Madonna...

I can't imagine a guy singer doing something like that. Adam Lambert could probably. Except he's actually gay unlike (as far as I know) Rihabritkatystinagagadonna.
