For My Dear... and Depend on you still available xD That's old PVs

Picaflor 7/4 5th August 2010 09:12 PM

she needs to start releasing stuff region free! D< It's bad enough that I spend the money I do to buy her products when I can't even enjoy them on my tv. No, sitting in front of VLC player on my computer isn't just as good. I see no reason for their youtube channel to have to take down the full videos. I think it's time she releases Complete clip box vol. 2, she left off with the first one at forgiveness, over 6 albums ago, she's long due for another one. I don't want to have to buy her albums to watch the videos, especially now that I can't watch them in full on her youtube channel.

I think avex should start releasing her stuff region free. I mean, they know full well now that she has dedicated fans from around the world. :) So why not?

I just realized that most, if not all, of her PVs on her youtube account are now short versions. :/ Luckily, I've seen most of them, so I know which ones I want to buy on iTunes, but how else are new foreign fans supposed to see them in a way which would encourage them to actually buy the PVs they like?

And, personally, I liked being able to look up her PVs on her easy-to-access youtube site, as opposed to other random video websites, where I have to deal with disgusting porn ads or trashy looking nude video shoots in the "recommended videos" section (as just happened when I watched "Days" on veoh:shakehead).

They've murdered her youtube channel completely now :(

I agree on region-free DVDs
but I'm glad they took the PVs off of youtube...I mean it was nice and convenient, but people should buy the DVDs if they want to watch the PVs whenever they like.

That's true, I didn't even think of that. If the clips are on youtube, people won't have the incentive to buy the CD+DVD... I always do anyway though.

I actually think it's quite stupid of them to take the full versions off of Youtube, especially since a good majority of the ones pulled can't even be bought O_o

Oh well. I have my Ultra HQ PVs so I couldn't care less.

tokyoxjapanxfan 18th August 2010 06:14 AM

i think it's ok to have short PV's for new songs, but like... videos from 1998 to say maybe 2007... no one is buying those anymore, haha. but i guess money is money.

though having short video clips on youtube just causes me to search for full versions elsewhere. it's not really stopping the problem.

truehappiness 18th August 2010 09:33 AM

They probably didn't want to simply be handing videos out for people to download from YouTube. I mean it'd be like they were giving away material that was previously paid for (COMPLETE CLIP BOX / all CD+DVDs from Memorial address onward / etc.) if they left the full versions on YouTube.

I guess it was to promote the channel at first?

Mirrorcle Monster 18th August 2010 09:48 AM

But i´m able to see the DVDs on my TV...

primavera♥ 19th August 2010 02:10 AM

I guess when I want to buy the AT10 dvd I will have to figure oput this japanese dvd thing. Although bluray would be nice. Considering my ps3

Anyhow I was surprised they even put all the mvs before. I mean even if its unpleasant to some fans, etc I don't see the big issue with taking pvs down
As far as business goes it is what makes sense so it doesn't matter to me.
I mean wtf else do u expect?

It was like "wtf" to me at first but now its like "ahhh ok I see"

Bad Wolf 19th August 2010 07:47 PM

Because the behavior of official Youtube channels for artists are running the gamut from "oh?" to "wtf?" and get away with it for some meager territorial pissings of ownership. I'm not saying this is what I think is going on with Ayu's channel, but I've seen official channels just sit and rot without any uploading done whatsoever just because the label doesn't want fans to upload the artist's videos to Youtube -- so they make a channel and can easily put in a claim and just sit on the videos as if they're gold or some ****. It's stupid. Especially if the artists don't put out their videos on DVD so fans can purchase it -- then what's the point of pulling them?
