I'm not liking the English version songs and why Namie Amuro sings "How many times" repeatedly instead of "How many times, how many tears" for GO ROUND('N ROUND 'N ROUND)? It doesn't make sense...

No you're not the only one, I like Hot Girls too :yes

SURREAL__RAINBOW 24th June 2012 06:57 PM

I like the new album, will find myself listening to it a lot I'm guessing :yes

It's a very cute album. Of course the hardcore fans will think it's flawless, perfect, the best ever, etc. I think it's just cute, I like the English tracks a lot, I like how there's an English track and then a Japanese one. I hate the new version of Break it, they killed that song :no It has no "soul" anymore, it sounds empty and plain now.

I kinda want to buy the version with the poster, I need at least one namie poster in my room lol

And oh yeah, the English tracks remind me of Kylie's Aphrodite album a lot, I'm loving this.

relmy 24th June 2012 07:12 PM

I really like the album, it's a lot of fun, and her English is a lot better than I was anticipating. The songs are so catchy that I'm not too fussed about what language they're in. Not sure which version of Break It I like more yet.

It's never mind blowing, but it's still solid and good. So I'm happy.

In the Spotlight is my favourite of the new songs. ♥

brener 24th June 2012 07:21 PM

oh and i love ONLY YOU

love in music 24th June 2012 07:58 PM

Is there a specific reason why she is having full English songs lately? Or she just feels like it?

I actually like Hot Girls.. it's catchy :P The new version of Break it is soo much better too! I don't mind the Eng versions of GO ROUND & Yeah OH. Overall it's an average album.. In the Spotlight and NAKED have to be some of my least favorite Namie tracks but other than those and the ballads the rest is pretty good. Nothing too exciting on this album though. I wouldn't really recommend it for anyone wanting to get into Namie.

CoriKaru 24th June 2012 08:16 PM

"Hot Girls" isn't terrible. I'll be listening to it. The Album as a whole is though.

I agree :/

Hot girls is just awful. The last line of the chorus sounds like gibberish, that's probably why they auto tuned it.
Overall, I'm not impressed with the album. When someone sings a song completely in English, if the pronunciation isn't good I get annoyed and distracted and this is the case here. I think Singing Yeah-oh is probably the best English song out of all of them. Best Engrish of the album is the "how many girls are gonna let me love you" in Go round, lol.
Unless she works on her English, I hope we're done with completely in English releases.

Maybe she's planning to go outside of asia for her 20th anniverary tour i can dream :weep

I like all the new songs but Let's Go is my least fave. Not liking the new version of Break It and I still can't sit through Tempest, but overall it's a solid album. While her english has improved I still don't understand how she regressed so far from LOOKING FOR YOU...a 12 year old song. like idk by now I'd expect her to be on Miliyah/Anna Tsuchiya level english (they aren't fluent but you can barely tell they have a accent)

isthisLOL? 24th June 2012 10:30 PM

I thought Anna Tsuchiya had a really bad accent when listening to her Stayin' Alive cover, worse than Namie's really because it felt distracting to me while Namie's Engrish just turns songs intro glibberish.

I like the new album... was in the mood to dance to some of the songs though I can't really understand Namie's English at times. Very sweet of Namie to include more English songs as the album seems to be produce for all her fans (domestic & international fans) to celebrate her 20th anniversary.

P.S. : I like how some of her songs in this album has this repetitive "go round"... it's fun to chant "go round and round and round" while blasting this album in my room.

TeamAyu2004 25th June 2012 12:00 AM

Dont really care for this album... only 4 new tracks and some redone tracks...
The singles are mostly on the good side, but after so long I thought she would of made a better album.
Ohwell... maybe next time namie.

everlastingRAINBOW 25th June 2012 12:33 AM

I think they may have made Break It an even weaker song :laugh

pommy48 25th June 2012 01:22 AM

^ Namie's voice sounds a lot more muffled in the album version >_<
But I really like the shattering glass part

And I love GO ROUND now! I never cared much for the original version, but now I can't stop listening to it.

And Hot Girls just sounds like a hot mess...I only like the beginning and end of that song lol

Isicio 25th June 2012 02:13 AM

I think ''Uncontrolled'' is a really good album with good singles and good songs in english, and probably the best album of the year!!

Agree, because of that it sounds too much repetitive..

I also like Hot Girls =)

SheFliesHigher 25th June 2012 04:56 AM

Ummm. Why?

Go Round and Yeah-Oh in English are not good. I don't understand why some of the English lyrics in the Japanese versions were changed when they worked just dandy. "Dancing all night, I say..." flows infinetly better than "and think about one thing." So why not keep it? And "it's quite alright" used to rhyme with "kamawanai"; it certainly doesn't rhyme with "one thing" and just sounds awkward and stupid now.

In Go-round, why the hell were "how many days" and "how many tears" changed? So needless, and it negatively impacts the song.

I was excited about this album, but I'm rather disappointed after hearing it. Two of my favorite songs were changed for the worse. Hot Girls is just...silly and uninspired. Dancing in the Spotlight is OK, but redundant.

As for Break It, I like the album version. I like Let's Go, too.

I'm going to customize the tracklist on my iPod by inserting the original versions of Yeah-Oh and Go Round and adding in Higher. Not sure if I'm going to buy this album.

Earth_maiden 25th June 2012 04:59 AM

I like the new tracks, but not the album versions of Break It, GO ROUND and YEAH OH. :no I made a playlist replaced the albums tracks of the redone songs with the singles. Now its an epic album. :yes
