More drama around Leslie's photoshoots? Yeah, I usually like his photoshoots but these nude photos are quite... awkward. I would never want any of my friends do those kind of things for me tbh. I would be so pissed off, so I understand how Ayu and her friends feel about this. :<

And the new song sounds better now! I'm excited for it! 8D

majrakun 14th October 2013 01:53 PM

Well, to be fair, Ayu herself did say if it the photobook was presented to her under different circumstances, and by different I mean when it was supposed to be private, she would have just laughed about it. So yeah, Ayu does have a sense of humour about those kind of things.

freedreamer 14th October 2013 02:02 PM

new song sounds happy and euro (yay!)

and wow i just got to know of the drama..
tsk..leslie.

Is it really weird? Maybe it is - if you believe that everything that Ayu writes in her entries is the whole true story. But maybe, just maybe it is only Ayu's truth, or even the truth that avex wants her to publish. Yes, I'm repeating myself here, but I don't think this story is as simple as evil Leslie Kee/ good Ayumi Hamasaki. :innocent The dancers may have another version of the story, and maybe Leslie himself sees things a bit differently, too.

This drama is so strange, I just want it to stop. :dead2

She did??
Well, maybe she didn't mind the pictures being used for the photobook? I don't know, it is weird indeed, but maybe she liked the idea... She's not an Ayu staff anymore, so what she does won't reflect on Ayu on contrary of the dancers. Though I would expect her to feel bad for what Leslie did to them as they were all close... I don't know.

Or we could get into all those conspiracy theories that it's all a big lie... But I don't want to get into that, that will be just an endless discussion full of random speculations...

Haha! Yup.. But I wonder if it would be awkward if she work with ND chow and Alvin goh in future... Both of them seem to be quite linked with Leslie kee..

Thanks to that, I've been a member since 2010 and got my TA ticket for A BEST LIVE this year. I'm neither rich nor Japanese.
Comparing with the memories and encouragement ayu has brought me, the $60 I have been paying, which is even lower than a DVD or Blu-ray, is really unworthy of being mentioned.

If you want to and you think you can afford to pay the $60 every year, then join TA; If you can't afford, then don't waste money on that.
It's totally ok, because everyone has his or her own way to support an idol. No one can make any judgments of the way you love someone.
Besides, ayu does love all of her fans whether or not they are TA.
The existence of TA is to separate fans from public media, not to separate faithful/rich fans from normal/poor fans.

There is absolutely no need to blame the membership system just because you are unwillingly to pay the fees(no matter for what kind of reasons).
Nothing in the world can be taken for granted.

Well said. :yes

It's true, Peco was there.
And yes, her smile is quite dazzling.

Well, I think that although she doesn't belong to ayu's staff anymore, and she doesn't represent ayu in any way, the true is that she does, in some way. Otherwise, her name would never have appeared in this thread, right? and it did, 'cause she'll be always related to ayu. Also, they stopped working together, but maybe they're still friends, or have some kind of relation, whether good or bad.

All the exhibition follows a coherent line (okay, the same line that Kee have been following since he was born, but a line anyway), and the dancer's pics are also under that line. Those pics are not different from the rest, they are not casual portraits or something; they are a part of the exhibition, as well as the rest. For that reason, I can't believe those pics were really a gift to ayu or whatever.. to me, it's a part of his project, a part as studied and designed as the other exhibited images, in order to build a cohesive composition.

If he wanted to take some pics for a bday gift, he would do something totally different. To me it's a real nonsense, and the only logical reason I can find, is that they were never meant to be ayu's gift. I don't think she's a liar, but there's a part of the story that's missing, that's for sure (to me, at least).

It would be good and interesting to hear what the dancers have to say about this whole drama.

PS: I just found a post on leslie's facebook thay says:

I don't know, maybe it's just a misunderstanding between ayu and leslie, and the one who's making a big deal about it are us.

kimmeh 14th October 2013 03:50 PM

It's Leslie Kee's 15year anni? As in he has been a photographer for 15 years..?

AyUmIXx 14th October 2013 03:55 PM

^
^ is that the man that peco took this pic together with? is it her husband?

waterballoon 14th October 2013 03:57 PM

looking at what Leslie's post on his Facebook, it really does seem like there could be some sort of misunderstanding.

anyway whatever it is, both Aayu and Leslie are humans and humans come into conflict, and they make mistakes.

why we, as fellow humans, are judging and speculating (okay right me too...) regarding their matters is beyond me.

Ayu is pissed off and she has her own reasons. It's her emotions, it's her co-workers, it's her brand name, it's her troupe, it's her "family", it's her mind. I think she has every right to be pissed off. Right or not, that's beyond what we can decide.

koumori 14th October 2013 04:02 PM

Peco looks so beautiful in that photo from the event. :)

According to wikipedia, it is.

Quote:

Arriving in Tokyo in 1993, Kee was faced with a language barrier. To overcome it, he learned the Japanese language at a local institution. Kee applied to join a photography diploma course at the Tokyo Visual Arts School, graduating in 1997. He was jobless for around a year, until in 1998, when City Magazine hired him to work on a cover shoot featuring Takeshi Kaneshiro. The magazine company Vogue Taiwan, impressed with Kee's skills, asked him to work for them. Since then Kee has been shooting for Vogue.
I don't think there are reasons to distrust this. He was a photographer before and after ayu, she did not discovered him or something.

Minttulatte 14th October 2013 04:25 PM

Seeing Peco in that photo makes me miss her. It's so weird that after she left the troupe I realized how much I actually liked her being there. D:

I don't think it's a misunderstanding. From ayu's tweet, she mentioned about meeting somebody before her verdict. And the "speechless" entry came after that (meaning she had met either the dancers or leslie)

Spoiler:

And from the details from the "speechless" entry, I think she just met leslie and was disappointed with his reply.
[ACTIONS ALWAYS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. ] this quote seems to be targeted at his actions too.

Because she planned in advance to post on twitter she met with someone and was shocked and then after a few hours to post that post on TA and then a morning after another post.

I'm not saying leslie evil/ayu good but even if there's something that's missing, it doesn't mean it has to do anything with something that ayu has done, but leslie did. Unless of course if ayu would serve them almost naked to leslie and tell him (or co operate) to publish it and make money from it.
If you imply that her story (well tweeting>posting on TA) is completely unbelieveable. I would at least give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but run and say she's posting on TA whatever avex wants her or that it's false, seems like not giving her any benefit of doubt.

Being open to the public by net and having friends co-workers that are very public at what they do can be a trouble magnet when you are famous, but I don't think that ayu will or should change herself to prevent these dramas but should try to minimize them.

For now it seems more like an AHS (maybe twitter too) exclusive drama as we have no tabloids saying anything about it (at least yet or at all).

happiholic★ 14th October 2013 05:27 PM

Sorry, but imo, regardless if Mannie decided to sell his photobook with signed copies, her dancers should have still been more wary about doing the exact same thing since it obviously didn't end well the last time. Additionally, I do recall that Leslie was selling Super Mannie himself in the gay district. So, obviously he has no issues selling things that are supposed to be a surprise. And the argument that Mannie did it first doesn't fly with me. I'm sorry, but to me its just common sense.

pimenta 14th October 2013 06:01 PM

I still think that the Mannie incident and this new incident have no relation and shouldn't be compared as being the same at all. Mannie wanted the photobook to be sold, it was said it would be sold every since the beginning, he himself advertised it. Mannie and Leslie had agreed on that, we wasn't fooled, Leslie had the rights to go sell the photobook wherever he wanted to. The dancers, on the other hand, wanted it to be kept private and for Ayu only (or that's what we were told, and I don't feel like saying people are lying about it). It's two very different things to sell your "gift" publicly and to keep the gift just for the person it is intended to, the impressions these two things transmit are completely different.
If that's the case, then Leslie didn't have the right to publish the pictures of the dancers (though why Peco knew about the exhibition beforehand, I have no idea, maybe Leslie did let them know afterwards that the pictures were going to be displayed and that's when they all realized they were fooled, and Peco on the other hand liked the idea and went there, but I don't know, it's enough speculation already). And if they trusted Leslie as a friend, then I don't see why they should have realized he would use the pictures differently then what he told them. It may have been be naive of them to do so, but you can't blame them for trusting someone they considered to be their friend. That's my opinion about it.

waterballoon 14th October 2013 06:17 PM

does anyone find it kinda.... creepy that.. I mean, imaging Leslie bringing a few copies of Super Mannie and Super Whatever-else into the gay district of Tokyo , and then selling them there like you would expect them to be sent to the stores to be sold lol

happiholic★ 14th October 2013 06:24 PM

Its simple to me. Surprise Leslie Photobook Number One didn't go well. She already stated she didn't like the images. They should have thought of a better gift idea. Its extremely naive. And I also still think there is some truth missing, and so far we only have Ayu's statement which is of course going to make her camp look best.
