Miliyah is providing a new CM song for Toyota Corolla or she'll appear in the CM or both idk lol excited for new music, ever since after TRUE LOVERS I didn't truly like any of her releases except for Lonely Hearts, RUN FREE and the Love/Affection Daishi Dance Remix (That remix is everything)

I think you are not so much into Miliyah then. i think her live performances are among the best in Japan, even on par with Koda Kumi (Miliyahs voice is better than Kumis, its less nasaly and she does not have the engrish problem). Miliyah is much more feeling it than just performing, but you have to like her music from start to finish and her weird emo persona to enjoy her fully.

Are you referring to me or? If so, I'm definitely into Miliyah. I love all of her albums from start to finish, and think all of them are amazing. That includes her b-sides. I actually don't think there is a single song by her that I don't enjoy. So there you have it. I think that my problem is that I'm generally not a person who enjoys watching concerts. The only concerts I watch are Kalafina and Namie's concerts. Kalafina has three singers who have special vocals and are a treat to listen to (most of the time), as for Namie, she dances. But the most important thing is that their concerts are not overly cheesy.

Now I'm not saying that I dislike Miliyah's concerts, I'm just not that entertained as I am when I'm just listening to her music alone. I did enjoy her performance of UNIQUE from the latest tour, though. The only thing I dislike about her newer concerts is her fashion and the way she acts on stage sometimes. I mean I just generally liked her style pre-Ring. In any case, I really like Miliyah and the person she seems to be, I respect that she writes most of her music, and she is unique when it comes to music. What I love about her is the fact that she doesn't exclusively follow whatever is popular today music-wise. She does release a few songs like that, but LOVELAND was really mostly r'n'b and not EDM. I really respect that.

Anyway, I kind of went off the point here, lol. What I'm saying is that even if you don't like her concerts that doesn't mean she isn't one of your favorite artists. I don't like lecca's concerts either for almost the same reasons, but damn do I love her and her entire discography. It's just that her concerts are a bit too cheesy for my taste, same with Miliyah.

It wasn't meant in an offending way. i just can't see how someone can say her lives are bad (and wasn't reffering to you specifically). i agree, her last two shows have been strange but she just has the voice to make up for it.

Namie is my #1 artist, but her concerts are really boring compared to Miliyahs.

chocopockymaster 1st April 2015 09:42 PM

I would rather watch Namie kill it with her dancing than watch Miliyah awkwardly walk around stage not knowing what to do with herself.

Yeah, I understand. Just to make things clear I don't think that her lives are bad at all (although I know you weren't referring to me), I just don't watch them for a few reasons. I agree that Miliyah has a great voice. I remember people saying that Miliyah doesn't have that great voice which kind of surprised me because her vocals basically give me life, lol. But live they are not as great as, say, Kalafina's vocalists (just an example, not directly comparing them).

I think that it basically just depends on what you like to watch and what's important to you in a concert. I don't think there's right or wrong. Some feel that Miliyah's concerts are bad, but some feel they are amazing.

I'm hoping for a nice, summery EDM single from her.

Yes! I love her ballads but summer calls for something upbeat and dancey!

Yes! it's been an eternity since she had an upbeat single that isn't super-sad I miss her older stuff :// more urban more upbeat something you can listen to when you're not currently depressed..

blackmage 28th April 2015 06:06 AM

Miliyah was chosen to sing the theme song for a comedy called Piece of Cake! Maybe it'll be an the upbeat song people are waiting for, haha. Hopefully not a ballad (I myself want something dancy or upbeat), but I'm happy to know there is new music on the horizon. :D

ayu_ready? 28th April 2015 08:49 AM

wow, many tie-ins? that's good!

chocopockymaster 28th April 2015 12:22 PM

It's a collab, too. (Not with Shimizu Shota tho, lol)

The guy's name is Mineta Kazunobu...I guess he's part of something called GING NAN BOYZ? idk I've never heard of him until now :shrug

Ryusei 28th April 2015 01:21 PM

I just hope it'll be good (unlike many of the recent singles...) Also did anyone buy the best 2 man tour on dvd or blu ray? I ordered it and wonder if it's nice, I haven't seen any previews anywhere

thinkingoutloud89 28th April 2015 01:54 PM

^her recent singles were pretty awsome (especially ShoneShoujo)

chocopockymaster 28th April 2015 02:19 PM

I just want more solo material. Shonen Shojo is really the only solo material we've gotten since LOVELAND, isn't it (with the exception of like, two songs on MUSE)? Everything else has been a collab :tired

I didn't like shounen shoujo at all. YOU... was pretty but meh, love/affection only the daishi dance remix was good and the only one i enjoyed and listen to frequently is lonely hearts.. I think shounen shoujo was a disappointment for most people and the charts heavily reflect that :// Every other song was able to get a weekly top 5 position on recochoku and shounen shoujo was nowhere to be found. I kinda wish she would do something more safe that everyone would like rather than overly experimental sound..

I feel like she doesn't care as much about music anymore and more about her fashion and other business

Chiharo 28th April 2015 05:25 PM

^How does she not care about her music if she experiments in music and practically shows that she's one of the rare artists who actually care about their music and want to make it more unique? I would definitely not want her to do what everyone else does, if that's what you mean by staying "safe". Shounen Shoujo was one of her best songs in years for me personally. Just because the masses don't like it doesn't mean it's awful music (quite the contrary in this case, really).

I think she actually has a good balance of experimental and whatever's-currently-popular songs. Yeah, I'd love another upbeat song soon, too. But I don't want Miliyah to turn into basically everyone else in Jpop industry. I really respect the fact that she released a majorly r&b album rather than EDM last year, and now came up with something amazing and different like Shounen Shoujo. Just my opinion, of course. I respect that you don't like that song and want her to be more "safe".

thinkingoutloud89 28th April 2015 05:31 PM

I also think Shonen Shoujo was the best out of all the bunch. it was really really touching and strayed away from her typcial ballads. Moreover did it put her voice in the central spotlight. I really loved the choir in the PV (except for the strange break) and she dared to tuch topics that made her famous and that are anything else but "safe". i hope she continiues with that.

ayu_ready? 29th April 2015 09:21 AM

I think Miliyah's still good, even though she fails sometimes with her experiements in front of the public

blackmage 30th April 2015 07:31 AM

^What do you consider her public failures? Do you mean record sales or?

Ryusei 30th April 2015 09:12 AM

^ I guess so, could also mean her concert outfits though.. the loveland tour outfits are.. questionable..

^^^^ Diamond Princess (I know I'm going far back) was also very unique but I loved that style it's really just a matter of taste in the end. I just want the best for her and it hurts me kind of to see such a talented musician so low in the rankings, I mean rankings aren't everything for sure but you still want to see your faves do well right?
