I also dread what's going to happen when Ayu actually retires.

After ayu will retire we will get at least billion BESTs, COMPLETEs and BOX SETs.

It's also a very profitable venture since the japanese buy into all that commemoration idea. I believe it's going to sell well looking at ayu's compilation sales trend except for A-ballads but that's probably because that album had almost no reason to be released. A 10th anni commemoration is a HUGE reason to be releasing a compilation album that encompasses every single from 8.4 to 8.4 so to speak.

Initially, i was frustrated when i saw the news of this release as well. What's the point of A Best 2 then? But i believe this is a very japanese mindset. The purpose is of the utmost importance. A Best 2 was to signal a 3rd chapter of her music career. This release is purely for the 10th anni spirit. Very corny for many cultures i think but there you have it. If you cannot understand this reasoning, then this release will probably annoy you very much, especially if you are a diehard fan who is buying this purely to support ayu. Ayu is very fortunate to have so many wonderful fans on this forum :yes

I agree. I'm frustrated that they released it so soon after A BEST 2, but I guess this seem to be a ten anniversary celebrate thing than anything else. I actually thought Avex should have put this compilation as a limited album with only XXX,XXX amount of copies.

Ahh, there's no trauma. -falls- That's one of the best Ayu songs missing!! Though I do reeeeally look forward to the re-recording to Who..., contrary to the idea that "some songs need to be left alone", I'm really looking forward to this, because Who... is my favourite Ayu song and for there to be a new recording is just wonderful news for me.

I think it's the perfect time for this kind of release, especially seeing as Ayu had a complete live box years back.

Also, lol @ the tags.

Remind me of the time around Ami Suzuki's sony scandal. :laugh

immature was an a-side? from which single?

♥ you! 24th July 2008 05:41 PM

Aww I love FRIEND. It's such a cute song but like no one likes it :weep

July 1st and HANABI are huge Ayu hits, very surprised that they are not in the album, same with the songs from her A single.

appears there was the immature (JT CM version).
appears is a re-cut single but as immature was on LOVEppears and had that tie-in I think it's an a-side. XD

Tasked 24th July 2008 05:44 PM

they obviously just wanted 1 song from each single. And they used Track no.1 for all of them. so debating whether something is an A-side or whatever is pointless

njanjayrp 24th July 2008 05:45 PM

decision, ever free and immature weren't really a-sides, but more like b-sides, as non of the singles had a "/" in the name.

dddaiyamondo 24th July 2008 05:59 PM

This is just AB + AB2 but a little bit cheaper. I don't think it'll do very well..

Quoted for the slight chance that it will make someone else able to read it - this thread is getting large, after all.

tokyoxjapanxfan 24th July 2008 06:13 PM

omholygod. best news ever. buying. i'll be in japan for this enorm release haha

truehappiness 24th July 2008 06:17 PM

Okay, wtf, Ayu. The day after I totally say your 10th anniversary sucks.

This needed more new songs, and more 10th anniversary versions.

And all that makes it worth anything is the unreleased a-nation DVD tracks and maybe the PB/box. I dunno, Ayu. I dunno.

~Matt~ 24th July 2008 06:21 PM

this sounds pretty good,

but I was expecting more "10th anniversary" versions too ._.
specially oldies like For My Dear...

jonneh 24th July 2008 06:28 PM

I do agree. If there were more re-recorded tracks I may lean towards buying it, but, this may be more of a download thing for me. :\ oh well.

ayumisrael 24th July 2008 06:38 PM

I don't care, I pre-ordered the 3CD+DVD first press limited edition on CDJapan (and my first order on CDJapan). XD

Matthew 24th July 2008 06:44 PM

*sigh* I don't want it, but I know I'll buy it anyway. I'm too weak to resist :(

The cover better be AMAZING to justify buying the same old songs again

Ayumi27 24th July 2008 06:49 PM

But, if Mirrorcle World is included, as 60's 70's 80's in Namie's compilation, that means it won't be included on the next album, so it's FIRST single would we released around sep/oct, and there won't be a new studio album until at least march/april 2009, right?

That's good, so ayu isn't in a rush to record a lot of songs to be released around new year
