So until now she has sold how much exactly...
I am actually new bout this stuff so don't quite get how this works!
Is this her week sales or??

marekcarey 20th December 2008 12:01 PM

today only 4000 so no mirrocle happened like in MW but lets see tomorow xD

SURREAL__RAINBOW 20th December 2008 12:08 PM

damn 4000
thats like nothing

bluegie 20th December 2008 12:09 PM

^I dun think the index will go back to 10K on weekend since there is no threat at all this time. Last time avex had to promote FREAKING HARD for the last two days to save the no. 1 spot from SCS. This time, well no one's gonna make them panic, so I dun think there'll be any special promotion during the weekend.

Also, like njanjayrp said, MW had an extra day, so if Days/GREEN has 120K on the first week, it's good to me. :D

Edit: it's almost 5000, not just 4000. If you have been following oricon sales, you should notice that Friday sales is always the weakest of the week. I expect it would drop below 4000, but actually it managed to sell almost 5K. That is considered GREAT.

GREAT
lets not overdo the enthusiasm XD

bluegie 20th December 2008 12:21 PM

Ehh Melrose are you quoting my "GREAT"? :shakehead

LOL :P either way, I'm not being over enthusiastic. I'm pointing out that Days is actually doing fine. I forgot who wrote it in this thread, but he/she wonder why many people being so negative about this single's sales, and I agree with that person. 115 - 120K is not a bad sales figure for ayu at this moment.

jiarongisme 20th December 2008 12:35 PM

YAY! 100k already!

waterballoon 20th December 2008 12:48 PM

And it was so close to a 100k! Hahaha oh well tomorrow should have a boost in sales!

HamasakiKUN 20th December 2008 12:55 PM

it will possible to passed 140k if the last 2 days index is 20k (20k*1,75 = 35k)

so 107,850+35,000 = 142,850

but, my prediction Days/GREEN just sold 10k or 15k, maybe final sales is just around 125k...

but maybe this single willnot pass MW sales...

njanjayrp 20th December 2008 01:35 PM

I am really ok with Ayu's sales atm, even people like Ku and YUI struggle to sell this much lately, and they usually end up selling close or a bit over Ayu's 1st week.

ayuayu798 20th December 2008 01:43 PM

^ You have a point there .... I'm just guessing, but maybe a lot of people are complaining about her sales, becuase they're not as high as her past singles... Ever since GUILTY, I think people have started to become more worried in regards to her sales

Jwiz 20th December 2008 02:12 PM

The sales index decreases sooo fast. I hope sales will pick up during the weekends and last few days...

njanjayrp 20th December 2008 02:57 PM

When it comes to sales, again, compared to others Ayu doesn't have a problem. She still sells really decent, after all this time, and ocassionally has a hit song (BLUE BIRD, Together When and now Days) :) I am quite happy with how things are going considering that Ayu's music is heading the less mainstream way most of the time.

Max_ZZZ 20th December 2008 04:58 PM

maybe it's better, now Mirrorcle World can shine as her 10th anniversary single lol

and plus, what if, WHAT IF!

for the 2 weeks after this... she racks up like 100K

WHOAAA i mean with new years and christmas and all ;D id be crying for joy lol

Luv ~Venus~ 20th December 2008 05:09 PM

So she's finally crossed the 100k mark. That's great. I don't know why most of you are comparing tho. So ungrateful. :rolleyes Her index isn't any different from MW's index. IIRC, Ayu had a index of 3000 two times in her 1st week. So be thankful she hasn't dropped to that point or below. Besides, weren't most of you saying that she'd at least pass the 100k mark? :o She did already so quit the whining and be happy that ur prediction came true. :yes

That's easy, I could name at least 2(B&D/Pride, Cherry Girl/Unmei) singles that were released a few weeks prior to an album which had better physical sales than HEART STATION/Stay gold. I mean come on who would buy a physical single which has no extras and at times not even a DVD when you can get the song online for less money (not to mention the "fan-made" looking covers). PoL might've been a dumb example as it was a recut but some people still think that MW is a recut (I don't tough) and even tough it didn't have a major jdrama to back it up it sold better physicly even tough the song wasn't a big hit like PoL was, simply because it had good bonuses and it didn't look cheap.

And don't worry you won't see a fresh material from Hikki (in Japan) unless there is a new ultra popular drama coming on as she doesn't seem to make music for any other reason the last 2 years, so there will be nothing to compare in a while, I'm afraid :P

See that's the point. You're using two singles that had two different versions to 2 singles that had only one version. =/ People had an extra incentive to buy Ku/Ayu's single while people thought they'd benefit more by just buying the HS instead of the single. Although some people considered MW as an recut single, it had a new song and a old ayu hit that was resung while POL simply had a remix. And again, you really can't compare this one either. As MW had for 4 versions w/ bonuses and POL only had one version w/ zero bonuses.

As for the last part, it's about promotion hun. :yes Without all the extras that was given to consumers who brought MW, those sales that MW racked up would have been way lower. Besides, at least Hikki can sell without throwing 2 to 5 different versions of one single just to get people to buy the single.:bchuck

Kuu's only had a few singles that crossed the 100k mark its first week so we really can't say that she's struggling as her 1st week sales are between 60k to 110k. As for YUI, she's never had a single to cross the 100k mark so she's not struggling at all. Also, her singles usually crosses the 100k mark overall which imo is great for her because she doesn't really struggle to cross the 110k mark. Heck she even beat one of Ayu's singles last year which is great.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 20th December 2008 05:19 PM

It's been 4 days (remember, Japan is a day ahead) since the release of GREEN/Days and Days still isn't up for download on iTunes :laugh The song that's supposedly her new hit is missing.

107,851 and it's been 4 days! Go Ayu:smitten

Yes, hun that's what I was saying, that Hikki's physical singles haven't really been an eye-candy for the fans lately. It seems that you enjoy quoting me :luv2

And that's once again exactly what I was saying hun - Ku rarely breaks 100k in a week (and that's called STRUGGLING as she takes at least 2-3 weeks), and besides FREAKY she didn't have any other single to break 100 k mark during the first week the last 2 years. And MOST OF YUI's singles sold more than 100k...so I don't know where did u get that..

hikaricore 20th December 2008 06:14 PM

Seriously, Everyone
Ayu's sales are very good, compared to Hikki and Kuu, they're amazing.
STOP COMPLAINING!

I think Luv referred to the first week sales of YUI if I'm not mistaken. :P
We do love quoting you LOL :P.

Regarding kuu's single sales... I have a feeling that people started getting sick of her rushed release exactly at the point when she released Cherry Girl/Unmei. Her three previous singles (Koi no tsubomi, 4 hot wave, Yume no uta) had very good first week sales. All of the sudden Cherry Girl only had around 70K sold on the first week. Since then all of her singles (except FREAKY) were sold under 100K on the first week. I think... if she didn't release Cherry Girl as a single, probly she could have a better single sales life. (of course, this year's is another story).

This is exactly like ayu's singles sales pattern in 2001. evolution >500K, NEVER EVER missed 500K, Endless sorrow sold lesser, then UNITE! even less... Then Dearest could not sell over 300K on the first week (even tho its overall sales was better than Endless and UNITE!).

yeah, what Ku did with Cherry Girl->Black Cherry->BUT kinda reminds me of B&D->(m)u->Startin', to me it all seemed too rushed. And yeah I was on about the overall sales :)
