is there any mention on how many tracks This is the one will contain or nothing as of now ? :shrug

NintendoHTF1242 5th February 2009 04:57 AM

People are speculating only 10 since Utada said she wrote only 10 songs or something xD

I hope this doesn't include interludes :dead2

It's not speculation anymore. It's been confirmed.

amorphose 5th February 2009 05:41 AM

I wonder if that's counting interludes (if she has any this time.) And bonus tracks?

that's the thing I really don't know :dead2

CoriKaru 5th February 2009 05:48 AM

I hope she has an interlude. Anything to add to those 10 songs. Plus she always has one. It's her thing. It's said she did 6 songs with Stargate and 4 with Tricky so if there is an interlude, she did it all by herself. Hopefully if there is one, she keeps with the adlibbing like she did in "Gentle Beast Interlude" in HEART STATION.

KarenPang 5th February 2009 05:50 AM

since This is the one will be released in both Japan & US , do you think covers wise & packaging will be the same or it will differ or it's hard to say ? :dead2

jbrat2219 5th February 2009 06:45 AM

I've noticed some artists give better covers to Japan than other countries and such =/

I hope for a half way decent cover at the least. And if they're different, we'll have more variety :D

CoriKaru 5th February 2009 08:10 AM

I want to say in this day and age she'll do 2 different covers. But she didn't for her last English Release and Utada never does multiple covers for anything except for the European Release of Exodus.

So I'm going to say NO. She's going to do one cover. I really think that's what she's going to do. And I prefer it that way. I don't want a cover out there that I don't have because I'm only buying one.

emi♡ 5th February 2009 08:14 AM

I really expect her to only have one.

I'm not really expecting any interludes either...except maybe an intro. But who knows...

I believe you of course, but was it actually confirmed the album would only have 10 tracks?

I know she recored 10 tracks with those people, but maybe she also made 2 or 3 all by herself or something xD or with completely different people nobody knows :laugh you never know (I'm just hoping for the best here)

yup it does make sense , I do hope that there wouldn't be any difference of sorts for both the Japan & US releases of her album

it wouldn't be fair for the fans if she were to make 2 different covers/photoshoots

New Myspace message:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS IS UTADA

Ok, so, I can now announce that the title of my new album is

"This Is The One"

I am a little upset right now because I think a staff member of IDJ posted the previous blog entry. It's not me, but it's written AS IF it is written by me. I'm going to call the dude in charge and make sure this doesn't happen again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:O quite upsetting indeed! Someone just taking your identity and lying to the fans. I really thought it was her! Didn't we all?

Very good to know that from now on, it's the REAL Hikki who's blogging on MySpace :D

Here's a snippet of her Ningin Interview:

"David: For “Come Back to Me” you worked with the Stargate producers. Did you work on any other tracks with them?

Utada: More than half the songs. There’s ten songs on the album and six of them were done with Stargate. And the other four with Tricky.

David: Did you have a say in songwriting for all the tracks?

Utada: Yeh, I wrote the songs. Wouldn’t have it any other way. [laughs]

David: You also worked with Timbaland–

Utada: For the last album.

David: Are there any other American producers or artists that you want to collaborate with?"

I love how they just breeze by the mention of "Exodus" and don't even say it's actual name. Ha.

It's like the sad and awkward step child in the room that you ignore in favor of your new biological child. Kind of like Cinderella.

"Get back in your case Exodus before I show you my Devil Inside and break you with my Tippy Toe into Kremlin Dusk!"
"Come Back To Me This Is The One and Let Me Give You My Love."

Keiichi_JPU 5th February 2009 02:47 PM

^ haha :laugh

and thanks for clearing that up! I did read the interview but that part slipped my mind xD ty

:rolleyes Why would she straight up say "EXODUS"? It's probably clearer to the interviewer and the people reading to just say "the last album." I think artists talking about their last album call it just that in most interviews.

:roflmao

That would be so sad for EXODUS... I think at the end of Cinderella, she got the prince so watch out This Is The One!

Melon Panda 5th February 2009 08:02 PM

"This Is The One" doesn't appeal to me as an album name, but as long as the tracks are good, I won't complain much. (I feel like her Japanese album names are better than her American ones.)
