It won't pass 300k. It's @ ~264k atm. At this rate crossing 270k should be hard, but possible.

Well, if it doesn't reach the "official" 300k, which in a little under two months it almost has, then avex will most likely release a statement that they have shipped 300K units.

There's always two sets of numbers.

Actual shipments

I tend to go for the latter because eventual they will get sold.

But I would love to know how many times it was downloaded legally and illegally! That number might be huge!

avex has already (most likely) shipped 300k initially, considering RnRC sold ~320k Sure there are some stores that Oricon doesn't "cover", but the album has no chances of ever reaching 300k on Oricon (and we're actually talking about those sales, as you can ship a million cds but that won't matter if no one buys them...) if a miracle doesn't happen and Ayu suddenly becomes ultra popular again.

Neither did I come here to be taught lessons. If there is something wrong with my posts, there is a report button, if people can't stand reading my posts there is also a little something called The Ignore List :innocent I am not stopping anyone from being positive or whatever...but as I said, being an optimist and deluding yourself are two different things :)

Im not offended, everyone is aloud to have their own opinion, but I don't think I'm delusional, I'm hopeful. And that is a major difference. But to say it's not possible is ignorant. Anything is possible in this crazy world.

OK, just for the record I am not turning this into an argument, but I did say that it would be possible if Ayu became extremely popular again ^^ just that the way things are, it's highly unlikely that'll happen.

It might happen if ayu reinvents herself and improves her vocals/image/works

although it didn't meet my expectation, Im still happy it did well on charts and that matters me the most!

I just think the issue arises because people should be happy with what she is selling. It's always the same argument:

"Ayu has been in the industry for ___ years and her peak era was back in ___. Take a look at the other releases, especially among other female solo artists. She has made it to ___ position on the yearly chart with ___ album."

Which is very true. Of course I always hope for good sales but no longer do I ever set a number I hope she reaches. I know people are being optimistic and hoping but I think most people view that as adding fuel to the fire that is the topic of "sales figure" talk when it does come up (ie. Ayu's sales are bad/comparing to other releases, etc.)

or she'd probably have to limit herself and release generic cutesy ballads like Days all the time. gross.
