There are many kinds of gyaru, so its hard to pin point what kind Kuu is. I would say Onee-gyaru, personally.

More to the Kuu topic: I am just super excited for Love Me Back. I will start really going crazy for the album once I get this single, because I really wanna hear Say Her Name.

You're right! Sorry I should have posted some examples of what I was talking about for people to understand, thanks. :D And perfect example and description, Emiko!

Gustavopc 29th October 2011 02:56 AM

omfg she's just finished her 2011 tour and will announce the next one in a month? :heart Then I think we'll get the album on later January with the tour starting on February. Can't wait to get more news :D

What? There's many different types of gyaru fashion..and Koda is obviously a fan of a certain type. Seriously, I think everyone just panics when they read/hear the word gyaru and think of this lol

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...yarugirls3.jpg

Which I'm sure we can all agree, Koda isn't a fan of in her own personal style. :laugh People need to look at EMODA in general before getting all flustered and trying to defend Koda when they don't need to.

Anyway, I really can't believe there's news of another album :thud And tour? She works so hard..lol

emi♡ 29th October 2011 04:32 AM

Yeah, I think it's just one of those things that get missed if you don't actually live in Japan and know their terminology and slang for stuff...which imo is just daunting. They have a word for freaking EVERYTHING lol

And then people don't usually talk about it unless you're big in following the japanese fashion circles.

I actually found it interesting, because to me...idk that kind of fashion is just...normal? lol Like obviously it's like a Night-out glam fashion...but its still pretty normal around here.

but...I guess, not so much in Japan? lol Stuff that's noticed there, for example like dying your hair...just kinda flies over my head sometimes, cause practically everyone I know dyes their hair...

After walking around in Japan and looking at the more idol kinds of girls, I've come to realize that the Japanese prefer a more natural beauty of black hair and even crooked teeth (they now have dentists in Japan that make your teeth look worse), even in celebrities. Gyaru, Kuu and other celebs like Ayu are like, super divas to them. Like you said, just coloring hair is like "woah!" to them, but I guess because you know everyone in Japan has black hair, where as you can't tell here in NA, unless the person has roots.

Also, gyaru models in magazines are not really what the more average gyaru looks like. The girls featured in magazines are there because they are the epitome of what the ideal of a true gal is.

Back on topic: Did Kuu already announce her next tour??

Gustavopc 29th October 2011 06:18 AM

^ No, she'll announce it on her birthday :D

KuuXAyu-fan 29th October 2011 06:22 AM

I wonder if she'll also announce the album the same day or at least release the title in the tour name. Sorta like how I think we had the RNRC album title from the tour first but I'm not sure.

Minttulatte 29th October 2011 12:25 PM

Kuu's a-nation'11 performance was awesome. I loved every second of it as always. QUEEN OF LIVE, definitely~ :heart

Those girls look so creepy. I also went to dig up some info and realize what everyone has been trying to tell me. :D I didn't know anything about gyaru fashion since I'm not a big fan (mostly because I've seen too many pics like the one above o.o) so of course I think they're all like that -____-;;

It's no issue that you think they're all like that :laugh You learn something new every day, right? It's no big deal. I learn new stuff every day that other people have known for ages, but next time I know it :) Don't feel like people are judging you.

~

So there's more news from her birthday? That's so cute, lol. Looking forward to it.

Minttulatte 29th October 2011 01:21 PM

Man, that You are not alone performance made me cry. Kuu is probably the only artist that can make me feel hyper, sad and energetic/happy in the same concert lol. She's my queen forever~ :heart

Of course not. :) Someday I'm definitely laughing at this anyway so yeah :'D

and +1 for universal doll :heart I loved that article. EMODA and MURUA are definitely my favorite brands. Ena + momoko = <3

Ah, so you didn't ignore me, thats reliefing somehow. :laugh
For a moment I was worried you actually did, though it wouldn't fit to you judging from other posts. I guess, I think too much XD
Yeah, let's share love! <3 :shughug

Spoiler:
Especially Gyaru love!
The first you often see is, like fellow AHSler already mentioned, the more extreme styles like Ganguro, Manba, Banba etc. and people are mostly shocked by it and don't look further - what I do understand somehow, though I got totally interested in seeing such pics. :laugh
But it's worth to look further, cause there's more or less a style for everyone. Though Gyaru trademarks are always the nails, the make up and the styled hair, mostly combined with a fake tan. Nothing for people who like it more natural, I admit. :laugh
The fascinating thing is, for me personally anyway, that Japanese always do that so perfect, and you're asking yourself, how they did that.
And if you know that it started as a protest, to liberate japanese women from that old beauty and community standard, it's even more fascinating!
Overall Gyaru could be summarized as "girly glam styles", well, more or less.

I can't believe Kuu already announces her next big tour! :thud
Seriously, then her 10th album can't be that far away.
December/January, depends on how much PVs they are doing and if they put the special live on it as well. Right know it's so exciting to be a Kuu fan! :tipsy

Gubsi 29th October 2011 03:59 PM

i think it depends if the mini-live will be the 2nd DVD...
BUT i don't think so...

i think we'll get this album at the week after christmas for the double sales or the first 2 jan. weeks!!
so the announcement should be around the tour announcement...
november 13th is a sunday and if i remember correct, BEST UNIVERSE was announced on a sunday too, BUT let's see...

at least we get the album title!!
and i still hope for a limited single 1-2 weeks before the album!

Ayu_Love 29th October 2011 04:25 PM

^
^This. :D I don't think many western people realize that the 'normal' look in japan is pale skin and black hair, whereas over here it's normal for people to have blonde hair and tan, but not in Japan. That's why the Kogals and Ganguro started copying calefornia girls and western girls styles to be different. That's why Kuu is considered Gyaru because she also does the western style with fake tan and dyed hair. They even have pants in Japan to make girl's asses more round and 'western'. :P If you go over to Japan and you have natural blonde hair, girls all ask to touch your hair and take pictures with you.

If people are still confused about the different types of Gyaru (such as ganguro, yamaba etc) then watch this part of an episode of Jonathan Ross's Japanorama that was shown on BBC:

Kuu is featured in part 3 of this episode, at 4:40:

I do kinda resent how he says they are simply Japanese counterparts of J-lo, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera, though. It really ticks me when people say that, when Kuu, namie and Ayu are original artists completely different, that quite frankly, I don't associate with J-lo, Madonna or Christina.

It dosen't really give examples of just normal Gyaru, which really is a more natural western look and high fashion, like EMODA. But it explains the more extreme styles.

Sorry for off-topic, I thought that would be a useful video to share. :) I'm looking forward to the mini-live in December! Kuu never rests! D:

AyuHamasaki01 29th October 2011 04:47 PM

Wow already another and an album!
I'm excited for the new album, I hope it's good.

Lee^ChaN 30th October 2011 07:24 AM

Thanks!
She sounds so sexy :heart
but don't you guys think that the song is too short and kinda miss the climax?

emi♡ 30th October 2011 08:10 AM

Awesome~~

I generally will like this style of kuu song, and I do like this one. It IS a little anticlimactic...but I find the light flirtatiousness kinda fun.

It seems like a really good song for a PV, and if there's a dance routine, I think that will help it a lot too.

waterballoon 30th October 2011 08:24 AM

oh cool..i love the song so much!
