I think Namie's channel touched the vocals up on that live "arigatou" performance.

Well, I'm sure it's taken from the DVD. So, just as with all other artists, the sound of the DVDs are touched up. But as someone who has seen Namie live, she has a great live voice especially during ballads, so i really don't think it's touched up all that much.

I really don't think so, remember Baby Don't Cry performance from Best Fiction Tour DVD? They could have done something to make it sound better but they didn't.

Well, I went to watch her BEST FICTION tour and her vocals are exactly the same as on the DVD. Except it's much louder and rougher. The DVD toned down and compressed the vocal so it sounded more sharp and on pitch... But by now everyone who watched live tours from Namie should know that she IS capable of "perfect" live vocal so there's really no need to touch up that 'arigatou' performance. She IS that good... :lech

Exactly. She's seriously pitch perfect so often it's scary, and her tone is extremely clear :heart

AyUmIXx 10th December 2011 04:39 PM

her vocal is definitely so stable despite of dance routine.
she's one of the best in live performances!

Yeah definitely~ I went to the BF concert that was put on the DVD and even though she was sick(?), but she sounded great live!

y_nathz 11th December 2011 05:50 AM

I love her latest single :3
and agreed that she's one of the best live performer ever, even with all those dance routines!

According to Oricon:

Sit! Stay! Wait! Down! / Love Story
Namie Amuro

Release Date:
December 07, 2011
Estimated Number of sales:
7676

And........it's number 3 on the charts, however, I don't know what number it was on the first day of debut.

Whoever said Super Junior & AKB48 would overshadow Namie was right lol. They are # 1 and # 2 on the charts, respectively.
Also, thank goodness, they changed her wikipedia image.

7676 were the sales for yesterday, the 10th. She debuted at number 2 behind AKB and right ahead of SuJu, and stayed at 2 until yesterday (tmk), where she went to 3rd, behind SuJu.

And it was me who said that. Glad I was right. Namie's my favorite singer of all-time, but these past two singles have been really lackluster, with only one notably good song on each, so I'm glad better all-around singles are ahead of her, if anyone.

R_Hikki 12th December 2011 03:52 AM

What does everybody tag "arigatou" as? Just "arigatou" or "arigatou <thank the world for LOVE... gift song for 2011>"?

koumori 12th December 2011 03:55 AM

^ I tag it as "arigatou <thank the world for LOVE... gift song for 2011>".

R_Hikki 12th December 2011 04:20 AM

^ Thanks. That's what I'll go with as well.

Just got my copy today. So excited >_<!

Zahara 12th December 2011 09:55 AM

Wow that performance of Arigatou was awesome! I thought she was saying "And text the world for love."

AyUmIXx 12th December 2011 02:24 PM
