Kanjani 8 members to expose the secrets of Arashi on “Arashi ni Shiyagare”

It was announced that popular group Kanjani 8 will be making an appearance as a guest on NTV’s “Arashi ni Shiyagare Natsu no 90-pun Kakudai Special” together with the MCs of the program, Arashi. The 12 guys will have a “secret talk” together.

Though 5 out of 7 Kanjani 8 members have appeared on the same program back in August 2011, this will be the first time for the members to appear on it altogether.

Reportedly, Kanjani 8 members will expose the secrets of Arashi members on the “rumour” corner, such as an Arashi member who ignored Nishikido Ryo’s mail, an Arashi member who Murakami Shingo wants to ask for Taxi fare, and more. Moreover, Arashi and Kanjani 8 will confront each other by quiz and game, under the title “Who is the true Johnny’s idol!”

“Arashi ni Shiyagare Natsu no 90-pun Kakudai Special” will be aired on July 28th on NTV starting at 10:00 pm.

Masaki Aiba will support amputee athlete in his 24Hr TV special

Details about Arashi’s Masaki Aiba’s “２４時間テレビ３５『愛は地球を救う』(24Hr Television / Love Saves the Earth’)” special program were announced on July 16, reports Mainichi Shimbun.

The Johnny’s talent will cheer on 17-year-old Miho Fujii as she climbs to the peak of Yukushima. The island in southern Japan is where one of the oldest trees in the world (the Jomon Sugi) is located. It has been reported Aiba will be supporting Miho from the Nihon Budokan in Tokyo, while a TV crew will try and feed live footage of the teenager on her climb to the tree. It will not be easy either. The whole climb is 20 kilometres there and back, goes up 1300 metres, and is expected to take 10 hours.

The challenger, Miho, is an amputee runner who is currently in her high school’s track team and is hoping to take part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

“I hope that I can support Miho-san with everyone in the country to watch over her, see how far she can go, and see that moment where she achieves her goal,” Aiba said.

The TV crew will also make history as it will be the first time live footage is sent out from the area. Until now the dense forest has disrupted signals, and so as Miho climbs to the top, the TV crew will be looking for areas with good reception.

Arashi to Hold "AraFes" in Tokyo National Olympic Stadium

It has been announced that popular Japanese group Arashi will be holding an "AraFes" or "Arashi Festival" on 20th and 21st of September. The festival will happen at the Tokyo National Olympic Stadium where the group had concert tours before. Furthermore, the Johnny's group have also planned to have a National Tour next year before the Olympic stadium closes for renovation.

The AraFes song setlist will also be decided by fan voting. Fans can choose their favorite from 240 Arashi songs and vote via Johnny's mobile site. Voting will start from July 21st until 6PM on July 31st.

Lastly, as their way of giving back to their fans, "AraFes" will not have any Johnny's Juniors as support. The festival will only have the 5-members as a way of challenging themselves.

Wow, thanks for all the information, Karen. I'd been wondering when Arashi would announce a tour (or any at all). I hope I get tickets this year or else I'm going to leave the fanclub... 5 years and I only won tickets twice... last concert was 3 years ago!!

Anyway... I'm glad to see the boys are doing so well still, especially with AKB48 selling like crazy!

Arashi holding ‘AraFes’ concerts at National Stadium until it closes in 2013

Johnny & Associates announced on July 20th that Arashi will be holding its concert at the National Olympic Stadium in Tokyo on September 20th and 21st. Arashi has held its concerts at the National Stadium for the last 5 years since 2008. It’s confirmed that the 2013 concert will also be held at the venue before it closes on March 19th for a large-scale renovation in preparation for a bid to host the 2020 Summer Olympics.

“AraFes” meaning “Arashi’s Festival” is the theme for this and next year’s concerts. The concert repertoire will be centered around a list of songs voted for by fans on Johnny’s official homepage. This is the first time that fans requests are incorporated into the concert and the idea came from Arashi members themselves.

Aiba Masaki (29) from Arashi commented, “Since National Olympic Stadium will be having a large-scale renovation after two years, we want to do something different for these last concerts held there. We want to hold a concert that is Arashi’s ‘Best of Best’. ”

Concerts of Johnny’s Jimusho usually feature large numbers of back-up dancers from Johnny’s Jr, but it’s revealed that this concert will have just the five Arashi members performing for the audience.

Aiba, Ohno Satoshi (31) and Matsumoto Jun (28) were in New York at the end of June, gathering ideas for their live concert from attending shows like Broadway musicals and Cirque Du Soleil’s Zarkana. Aiba remarked, “We want to leverage what we have learned and create a live stage that’s completely different than before.”

Fans may make their song requests online on Johnny & Associate official website starting from 12pm July 21st to 6pm July 31st (JST).

Satoshi Ohno Gets to Monopolize Mickey Mouse All by Himself

Arashi’s Satoshi Ohno has recently gone to Disneyland in Los Angeles and San Francisco to film NHK’s documentary, titled: "Everything happens to deliver the dream~Walt Disney Path to Creation~". The said documentary is to commemorate the 110th birth anniversary of Walt Disney, the man behind Mickey Mouse and its expansion to entertainment, animation, and theme park empire that it is today.

Ohno, who gets to monopolized Mickey Mouse since no one was there, promises a fulfilling report about his travel. The documentary will have Ohno traced the roots of Disney whose goal in life is to deliver dreams to everyone. Ohno shared, “I got to experienced first-hand how great is the history of Disney, and what a great person was Walt”.

Various scenes from Disney movies will be shown and different testimonials from people behind Disneyland will give their views as well.

"Everything happens to deliver the dream~Walt Disney Path to Creation~" will air on Aug 22nd at NHK.

I just heard that Sakurai Sho has gone all the way to London with the NTV boys... (remember - unlike the USA, where it's only one group - NBC - broadcasting the Olympics for a single country, or BBC for Britain, Japan has all the network TV stations - NHK, NTV, TV Asahi, TBS, TV Tokyo, Fuji TV - broadcasting the Olympics)

Oh? I haven't seen him yet, but it's because my husband is mostly watching NHK coverage (they have the most, I think). But yeah, it's really nice that we get all this coverage here in Japan!!

In the latest VS ARASHI episode , it was mentioned on the show that MatsuJun , Aiba & Ohno , all 3 of them , went to New York a few weeks back for a private holiday together o_o

Out of the 3 variety shows they're hosting on a weekly basis , VS ARASHI is the most fun as it's very hands on , unlike the other 2 which can get very boring with both HnA & AnS being very talk show based driven
