but with the kuu fans here, yeah kueen looked flawless~

In any case, if Ayu had done say exactly the same as koda did in japonesque...I think people may have been a little more receptive.

I personally wish Ayu's lingerie wasn't so simple :/

Bounce & Lovers? Trashy? Those people must not have seen the scans for secret. The ones with the hat. And her butt. I love them, lol.

Also, I think Japanese people have a tendency to over-use the word "kawaii". I've learned to take is as a general sign that they like something. They don't mean cute like Hello Kitty.

Yes, I saw his tweets and got so angry, seriously.

He ask "What is a Party Queen"? Well, I think if the covers had been better, then Ayu could have really given a new meaning to the word "Party Queen", but NO! they went with the most obvious concept, when you hear the word "Party Queen": fun, alcohol and gorgeous people.

So I really don't know what he is so outraged about! They should just admit that this time the covers simply have no meaning, because I'm sure that without Ayu's tweets nobody would have thought one second that the Party Queen on the covers is sad and lonely! And even the song "Party queen" doesn't speak of loneliness and sadness, but only about having a good time and getting drunk!

my thoughts exactly.

i think the covers don't really scream "lonely and sad party queen", but maybe the songs will; that's something we will know later. but it's just bleh, c'mon Ayu... those tweets make me feel really skeptical for a moment -.-||

I'm not sure but it's mean like slang "lovely" in English that mean Good Great Awesome.

I'm sure someone would have thought of it...

And then they'd be shot down by just about everyone. Nothing new.

I'd say that the song Party queen is NOT trying to convey that loneliness and sadness (I doubt NaNaNa and Shake It♥ do either because remember how many people were like "What the heck are NaNaNa and Shake It? THOSE ARE NOT AYU TITLES.") but the rest of the album probably does. My interpretation of the theme as it might apply to the music on the album is that she is going to show us that "fun/happy" side to being a Party Queen or whatever before plunging us into dark-Ayu-land full of self-doubt and loathing. There's probably going to be a very obvious progression going on in the actual album (maybe the booklet too?) and just because you can't see that in the covers immediately doesn't mean that the meaning isn't there.

I imagine he was probably pissed off because people didn't realize that this was Ayu they were talking about. Do you really think that she would do something like this without a purpose behind it? (I don't count single covers so... I hope we don't get started on -those-)

I LOVE this concept but I do wish that she had executed it better. Why did it have to look like a prototype when it could have looked finished?

I think the people who wanted to say that used either いい or 良い when they described the covers.

Coelacanth 5th March 2012 08:20 AM

People keep bringing up the "sadness" and "loneliness" that these covers are supposed to convey. You guys are free to interpret the covers the way you want. Ayu isn't shoving her own interpretations down your throats. People asked her and she responded, something that is VERY RARE and that some of us obviously take for granted. It's not OBVIOUS that she looks sad and lonely. What is OBVIOUS is that it's a magazine/tabloid cover because albums just don't have random barcodes on the front covers.

Furthermore, we don't know what people were saying in the tweets sent to Ayu. If they were anything like what was said here, I'm sure he was mortified and felt the need to defend the cover's artistic value as well as Ayu's character. Let the album come out. I'm sure the concept will become more clear.

emi♡ 5th March 2012 08:30 AM

As someone who doesn't completely buy what Ayu said...I think I understand where you guys are coming from with the "these are meaningless."

But. I think...if we look at who Ayu is. Regardless of what she's said, or what Timmy has said (even though I think his tweet is more relevant)...I think the covers are successful...as I've said...in showing off her personality.

Personality? Please, explain.

Well, some of the tweets and replies have been posted here, and none were mean, from what I could see. The first I saw was someone who said "It looks like a tabloid to me, Ayu" and she confirmed that. And then there were others tweeting her saying she looked pretty or happy and she replied with "she does? Party Queen looks sad to me".

oh yes these had me shocked of Kuu for years after. in a positive way :lech
I think BOUNCE&LOVERS is stunning:love

the more I look at the PQ covers, now that with arm missing & stuff...seems like the were made hastily and so not very accurately. which is like 'eww' for me :thud
I think the one reason why I don't like them is because they look unpolished. know what I mean? ;)

Shirlaay 6th March 2012 01:05 PM

The covers are.. different. I would never, in a million years, have expected Ayu to come out with covers like this. I expected her to do something like the covers for "how beautiful you are". It is a bit disappointing and I can't help but hate the album covers :(

I think its that same reason I'm not crazy for them, lol!

Just wish they were giving out B2 posters with this album!!!!

Bad Wolf 11th March 2012 12:51 AM

A quick note... those who find this offensive or pornographic should take a look at Ayu's other album covers.

LOVEppears: topless
Duty: fully body, form-fitting catsuit
I am...: wrapped only in ivy bikini
RAINBOW: naked
MY STORY: in lingerie
NEXT LEVEL: latex dress

Not to mention some of her singles... in which she is either topless or in some kind of short-skirt/bikini combination. Ayu's constantly done such things, in her own style, in her own way. To all of a sudden be all up in arms over this seems a bit too late, no?

happiholic★ 11th March 2012 12:52 AM

^I think its the pose of the 2DVD and the bulging boobies.

I dunno, I think they are tame.

Bad Wolf 11th March 2012 12:55 AM

>bulging boobies

hee, yeah that's eyebrow raising. I won't lie, I was definitely surprised at the album art, but then I thought back to the whole topless, lingerie, etc. covers and thought hey, more of the same, y'know? *shrug*

Whenever I see these covers and think they are eyebrow raising, I just think of Koda Kumi and PQ covers are nothing, lol. Hell, I kinda wish Ayu would get her Kumi-Kuu on and do something really sexy. Just once.

we didn't mean she has never done it before, it's just that before it had been better executed and still had this 'classy' feeling Ayu always has around her

tinka69 16th March 2012 06:42 AM

I would feel very degraded if I was her...
