a perfect example - GACKT. He also has these grandioze tours with visuals costumes video footage and u name it, but when he did his first european tour he went totaly simple just him, one stage costume, band and music in a club like venues that fill up to 1000 people. And it worked! He was SOLD OUT in minutes. It's possible for Ayu,too, but i don't think it's gonna happen, she's not that kind of artist...

Yeah, I was going to bring up Gackt as well. He obviously has no problem with stripping down his shows and just playing. He has played all over the world now. But, the sad truth is that there is a difference between him and Ayumi - Gackt is a musician.

TeamAyu2004 20th June 2013 10:12 AM

Gackt is hardly a musician and more like a hack. lol.. I like what I did there.

Ayumi has already demonstrated she can do a stripped down tour. It was called Power of Music. The first round of shows were incredibility minimalistic.
There is a reason why she doesnt go over seas, because she doesnt want too. She has already said she has no desire to do it so why?
Her main audience is in Japan. Thats it. Theres not reason for her to go to Europe or america for her MAYBE 100's of fans.
She might to do another asia tour one day, who knows. But the way she is being hated by her international 'fans' why bother?

Gackt is a musician. The man writes his lyrics, composes music and plays a couple of instruments.

A tour with so many dancers, center stage and a couple of nice costumes can hardly be called stripped down you know. It was not minimalistic at all, just stripped down compared to her regular tours. Ayumi Hamasaki has more than 100 fans in Europe and the States and she could easily sing in front of prolly as many people as Gackt did.

Where did you get the idea that she doesn't want to go anywhere else? She's never said it.

Power of Music stripped down?!?! OMG you gotta be kidding me: full orchestra, more than 20 dancers, full band, 7 costume changes...

I guess I could have said stripped down compared to her other concerts. But the first half of her tour had none of the costume changes, or the wild things that she does for concerts. The DVD we got and the final was basically a completely different show.

Oh and she has said on several occasions she has no desire to come to america (dont now about Europe but I well lump all western speaking countries together because i can)

he said, the FIRST ROUND, she wore only one costume or two, and didnt have as many dancers until the second round

Mirrorcle Monster 20th June 2013 11:26 AM

Even on the first round she had three costumes (same pattern but three models), a full orchestra, a full band, dancers, and she performed in arenas. Doesnt sound too stripped down

not at first. You are thinking towards the middle and end. When she started the concert and for a few shows it was BARE MINIMUM.

And quite frankly just because its in an arena doesnt mean squat.

Please refresh my memory. Because I only remember her saying that she would go anywhere where people listen to her...

Of course it was in arenas, because it was planned in arenas, and all the tickets were allready sold. she could have done the same show in a small venue too.
And also in "stripped down" shows she needs a band just as Gackt (to continue the example taht was given before) even if he can play several instruments, he canīt play them all at once.
And I am not gettimg tired in bringing on Limited TA Live Tour, she had 3 costumes, a small stage, her band, i think 2 or 3 dancers and 2 background singers.
So she CAN if she wants to ;)

but, yeahh bring it on ayu!!

I read it's an album, but well, we should wait for further news lol In any case, I'm quite excited. Hoping to see a rockish Ayu.

I never heard or read anything about her not wanting to go overseas. In fact, there's this interview from CNN, I guess, when she was working on Secret, and she said she would go anywhere in the world if her fans wanted her to.

^7th of April is still her 15th xD

mizuki-7 20th June 2013 03:18 PM

Actually I'm quite excited because in this TA message she said that she discussed a lot with her staff about this future album and that she will put all her time for it !

I'm really interested to see what direction this album will take ? Something completely new or something similar to her past work ?

In this message she give me the feeling that she questions herself a lot !
