In the calendar? Regardless of local climates, seasons are based on the Earth's orbit around the sun, so depending on the year, 'astronomical' autumn starts between the 21st and 23rd of September :)

I'm also banking on some kind of news for her birthday, I wish it were the full album but I guess they would have announced it already if that were the case... so maybe date and cover on her birthday, for an early Nov release?

She would do just like Utada, releasing the new album digitally on her birthday and do a physical release with some treats for fans later.

Meteorologically it starts September 1st and ends November 30th every year.
It all depends on what you're referring to - and for the southern hemisphere it's different again.
