They made an announcement about this a month ago. To summarise (based on Google Translate and my limited Japanese, so inaccuracies are possible): Masaki has been living with a circadian rhythm sleep disorder for 20 years, and in early March, he went on hiatus from moumoon's activities to get treatment. In his message, he describes his condition as something like daytime and nighttime being reversed and being in a jet lag-like state during the day. He also says that his treatment period is intended to last until the start of their NEWMOON tour in June.

I watched their 2015 live Avex uploaded and now can't wait to buy some of their albums. Think I will go for It's Our Time and Best first. I'm in love with Hallelujah and am loving Fight Back and so many other songs!

So it seems that moumoon has left avex and are going independent.

It's possible moumoon is a victim of Avex artist/budget cuts as a result of the pandemic. :cry
