The sales shouldn't fall below 1100 - 1200 copies tomorrow and hopefully we won't see a dip under 1000 on Friday.

waterballoon 27th August 2009 07:28 PM

^ :P I suppose Friday MIGHT fall below 1000... hopefully there'll be a weekend boost too~

zyoeru 27th August 2009 08:18 PM

Judging by how things have been going, it's kinda going to go that way unless for some reason she starts selling 600-700 per day..

ストロボ・EdGE 27th August 2009 09:12 PM

I'm so glad that it looks like it's going to reach 100K. I didn't think it would from the initial sales. I know many people here don't agree, but sales are very important for me O__O

Crystal_Ageha 27th August 2009 11:17 PM

^ Sales are important to me, too, but I'm very willing to accept that, aside from Ayu no longer being at her peak, sales are no longer what they used to be because of the economy. In the US, people still spend a lot of their money on things that they maybe shouldn't, from big things such as new cars to smaller things like CDs. In most of the rest of the world, especially Japan, the necessities come first. Plus, you have to take into consideration that only huge fans or big music lovers buy physical copies. But even digital isn't what it could be. Like a few people have mentioned, as far as music goes, 500,000 is the new million. :(

I think Ayu is really doing amazing, considering she's been here for over ten years now alone. And her chart positions prove that only 100,000 for a single isn't bad at all.
When you think about it, Ayumi has been here longer than all the well known J-Pop stars (at least the solo female artists). Kumi has been around for a while now, but she only got popular a few years ago. Hikaru is still big, of course, though she has never been one to put out a lot of stuff, so of course it's hard to get tired of her. As we speak, she may as well be on hiatus. (Seriously, what happened to Hikaru lately?? ._.) Namie Amuro is in a similar position. Of her long career now, she's only been active for about half of it. Ayumi Hamasaki is the only one who can truly say that she's been here for over a decade. And she's still charting and selling above average, despite it all.

Ayumiko 27th August 2009 11:46 PM

wow the 3rd week's sales are really steady...it has a good chance at breaking 100k by the end of this week...if not definitely the 4th week.

That's telling AC to sell more than half of its current sales. LOL. Which imo is quite impossible.

A bit less than a half but it's still impossible. XD

njanjayrp 28th August 2009 12:44 PM

^ yeah totally, it would take years if it keeps selling 500 copies/week.

keikeiaznqueen 28th August 2009 01:31 PM

Well, I didn't doubt that S/S would sell under 100k since it debuted. Judging from T2M's sales pattern, it's just not likely. :P Ayu won't fall off the chart that fast. There are 200 positions to drop. Of course it'd be fine.

And honestly! The position shouldn't matter anymore since Ayu got her weekly no. 1. She'll very likely be in the monthly top 10 (actually I'm quite sure she will be) and that's enough, isn't it? She won't stay in the top 10 for 3 weeks, that's quite the feat and you probably have to be... a boy band, or you know, just a band with a male vocalist.

Btw, what are S/S's sales now compared to T2M's sales during its 3rd week?

Namie Amuro has been around for more than 14 years, please don't ever say that " Of her long career now, she's only been active for about half of it. Ayumi Hamasaki is the only one who can truly say that she's been here for over a decade"
Do u listen to Namie in 2003 until now? if u do I belive that u wouldnt say such a thing, because she has tried hard enough to get into new music direction, everyfans of her knows that. She had never given up.=/ I was become her fan at the time ppl think Namie Amuro was over.
I do agree that she didn't sale well some years ago, but it didn't mean that Jpanese ppl don't listen to her at that time and she's not around in ppl's mind who admire and respect her. Because the fact that halp of the songs in BEST FICTION are all from her 2003 to 2005.
Please stop bringing her name into your speech just to prove that Ayu is the best of the J-pop world or anything, when u r not a fan of her, don't say like u know about her =/
Put your self in my place, u'll understand why i reply your post, i didn't mean anything so get it easy okay? :)
When ayu get down in her sale, ppl here just find their own self-believing reason to prove that she's not been over yet, yeah, u have the right to do so, because u r her fan.
Then someday when her peak returns, u feel happy for her and u know that at her down time, she had tried her best.
Imagine if some ppl say that Ayu wasn't around from 2009 to 2..., what would u think?
