NOOOO! Naruto??? :(

Nackar_91 16th June 2010 12:47 AM

Honestly people, does it matter for the song if you don't like the anime? I despise Bleach but I wouldn't give a flying **** if one of her songs were a Bleach opening >>

A+ post. I agree 100%

I don't like Naruto but this will give the new queen of j-pop more exposure!

Crystal_Ageha 16th June 2010 12:59 AM

^^ It just sucks because she deserves better, and, most importantly, I'd hate it if this is what really kicked off her career. Because then she'd be known as 'the girl who did that one Naruto song', lol (which would also set her up as a potential anime singer, which is never good). Then again, I guess I shouldn't really worry about that too much. She's already popular enough, so hopefully nobody would associate an anime hit as what made her. ^^' But of course, there's always the idiot who really would think that. Like how some foreigners/anime freaks believe Dearest was Ayumi's first big hit. :rolleyes

I think her face looks kinda weird too. I dunno, I think her photoshopped pictures made me think she was some goddess at first but she looks like a completely different person in motion. Anyway can't wait to hear the new song and I like the title.

adantatu2 16th June 2010 01:53 AM

Oh I love Naruto and Bleach (and all the openings)
I can't wait for the new song

but kana already had an anime tie-in. "Style" was used for SOUL EATER two years ago. although she wasn't popular back then, i'm sure she's still associated by some people with that. but do you think now that she's actually popular, she'll be more known for "Naruto" instead? (but it's just for the movie, right? not for the actual anime. so i don't think it's that big of a deal since technically, it's not used for the anime itself. the movies aren't usually that popular, i think..)

either way, i think it's great publicity, regardless. i'm sure she won't have her singles being used for anime all the time (this is only the 2nd time in 2 years). almost every sony artist has a tie-in for an anime, anyway. or at least that's what i've noticed. :P

this. She won't be known as the girl who was popular from Naruto, two of her recent singles did really well and I'm sure her album will too. she's already established a name for herself as an artist (high digital sales as well) so I don't think the Naruto thing is going to do anything but give her more publicity

Aa, I didn't even know about that tie-in... I'm glad she didn't get popular from that one, either, of course. ^^' But yeah, like I said, I guess I shouldn't worry about it since she's already pretty popular. The only thing that would bug me would be if newer fans (or even 'haters' or whatever) saw that as her way in (like I said about Ayumi).
So yeah. I'll just take this as some well-earned promotion for a talented artist. :P ....Still wish it could be for a better anime, if it must go that way, though. >.>

I'm loving that Kana writes all her own lyrics. What about her first album though? Did she write everything for that one too? She has the possibility of being the new J-Pop Princess. Ayu and Kuu were both somewhat plain in their debut, I doubt they were as outgoing then than they are now. Also, she is an amazing digital seller, which is the new way to buy music. She could be the leader of a J-Pop digital revolution! :P But, maybe not. I'm happy, so long as her music stays amazing <3.

waterballoon 16th June 2010 03:31 AM

I don't watch Naruto but it'll be fantastic exposure for Kana woo woo

She wrote all of LOVE one by herself except for Kimi no koe wo (co-written with Verbal), candy (w/ Jeff Miyahara), and Kimi ni aitaku naru kara (w/ Kanako Kato.) So she's done the great majority by herself, and co-wrote everything else as far as album tracks go.

Oh and I saw her referred to as Queen of the Cellphone World or something along those lines "the charisma girl of the cellphone generation" once, in reference to her really good Chaku-uta sales.

If? So what happen to "I swear"? New title or just another song?

Mirrorcle Monster 16th June 2010 08:20 AM

I love Naruto and Kana, the song will surely be great!!!

They're probably the same song. Kana may have just changed the song title.
Naruto? Okay, I'm fine with it :innocent

I wish the song is something different though. I dont mind if it's anime-ish but hopefully its not like her usual mid-tempo ballads ><

"deserves better" is sort of your opinion though, isn't it? Besides, it's not like she's virtually unknown right now. She's one of the most popular pop artists as it is at the moment, so I wouldn't worry about that ; )

I can see how you'd find that annoying, but it all comes down to how much attention you pay to it. Besides, I think I don't think a lot of artists are remembered solely for their anime tie-in. Haruka Kanata kickstarted Asian Kung-fu Generation's career with being a Naruto opener, but they're known for being one of the best and most popular indie rock bands in Japan, not for Naruto ; ).

Twinkle ! 16th June 2010 10:11 AM

I Don't think shed be known as naruto op/en theme singer , Because she's already popular , for example Kuu wasn't popular till she sang FF Theme and most of my friends know kuu from FF , But kana is popular since motto as a strong digital seller and in physicals too

OogoeDiamond 16th June 2010 11:33 AM

its not like she is anime singer for god sake....
But it will give her attention in fandom for sure

Earth_maiden 16th June 2010 03:59 PM

I don't think we will care once it's released anyway, it will be all about how the music sounds. XD
