Ah..It's so nice hearing about how people discovered Kuu. It's great to know she has devoted fans. :heart

Misato 21st October 2010 09:39 PM

My first Kuu song was "Real emotion", because of Final Fantasy X-2.
And after that, i heard long time nothing from her. In fall in lover with her after "Promise/Star" again.^^

Speaking of devoted fans, I always wondered why Kumi has two fan clubs and what is the difference between them? Do they both have a lot of members?

RikkuChii 21st October 2010 10:04 PM

The two fan clubs are called Koda Gumi & Playroom.

One's a fan club, & the other one's a mobile fan club. I think Playroom's the mobile fanclub, I'm not too positive. I would assume they have a lot of members..if there are two clubs. :laugh

The only benefit of being in Koda Gumi is that you can order priority concert tickets and FC editions of releases. Playroom gets all of the goodies, because it's a closed mobile source, so you can't copy and paste information like you can on a PC. it's much more secure and that's why they get all of the song previews, CD covers, and just random pics of Kuu on there. I was a member of Koda Gumi for a year and didn't bother renewing my membership, there was just no bonus in it for me. :(

Wow I didn't know there were such things as mobile fanclubs... How much do they cost?

It's really amazing what the Japanese do with cell phones haha, like there was this one video where this guy put in his credit card info into his phone and when he was at the store scanned his phone and then there was a fingerprint scanner thing on the phone to make sure it was him attempting the purchase. Neat stuff!

jbrat2219 21st October 2010 11:54 PM

^ Wow that's crazy! You know those 2-D barcodes that have been used in Japan for forever! I finally saw an American ad featuring one not too long ago! We're so behind the times xD;

I have an app on my iPhone to scan them! But there's none to scan lol like on Kumi's official website they post the barcodes for the different chaku-uta websites and I scan them and it just takes me to the main page. I feel so primitive...

jbrat2219 22nd October 2010 12:15 AM

I think if I were in Japan I'd go with Playroom, it would be cool being a member of a mobile fanclub! ;D

This is going to sound like a strange compliment, but I love Kumi's eyebrows and I want them...

Lee^ChaN 22nd October 2010 01:14 AM

I love her since Real Emotion in 2003 (that's when I start to lose my interest in the queen of J-Pop and *boom!* the queen of live appeared!)
I really love her looks in Real Emo PV.. so cute!!

Usually on each concert, you'll get a barcode, and after the concert, you can scan them on your mobile phone, to check whether you're lucky enough to win gift. How comfortable! (Too bad, I'm not belong to the crazy rich fan group :scry)

I would kill to be in Playroom. I wish American phones were like Japanese phones..

The first Kuu song I heard was "Cutie Honey" back in 2005. I bought her "secret" album and it went from there! :)

Yeah! I became a fan around that era too! I was listening to that album the other day on the way to school (1 hour long drive x___x) and all those old feelings from my first listen came rushing back! I'm on a Koda Kumi HIGH right now! :luv2

waterballoon 22nd October 2010 04:36 AM

is it bad that I can't remember what my first Kuu song was? lol but I was a fan just a while before Black Cherry came out. God, it's been 4 years.

Lol, that's pretty much that same story for me. Well Promis/Star made me interested a bit but I grew tired of it quickly and then officially became a fan due to 12 singles project!

I know exactly what you mean! That's one of the reasons I love music so much. It takes me back to the first time I heard it/that era of my life. It's like a way to relive memories. :yes
