Why would it be? All her songs have English titles yet none were ever in English. Brilliante means pretty much the same thing in almost every language...

^ BRILLANTE could be in french as well lol

njanjayrp 17th July 2011 12:04 PM

^ or any other language with Roman roots.

I doubt this. "Brilliant" means something much different from "Brillante", I'm sure Ayu looked into the differences before she chose the name.

But the meaning of "brilliant" (in english) and "brillante" (in spanish) is the same, so we could expect anything from this song! :P

I'm spanish and i want her to say 1 or 2 words in spanish (that could make me laught) but I prefer the song to be GOOD instead of in spanish!

Maybe its the best song of the album, but maybe is the worst. We will know all these answers on 31/8. Lets be patient! :lech

SURREAL__RAINBOW 17th July 2011 03:16 PM

yeah, brilliant and brillante mean the same lol

koumori 17th July 2011 03:23 PM

Brilliant is usually used to mean "good" etc, its meaning has changed; brillante still holds its original meaning in most cases if my friend is correct.

EDIT: I guess what I'm trying to say is that "brillante" is more used to mean 'grandeur', but it also could be Ayu just being more impressed by how it's pronounced. :laugh

SURREAL__RAINBOW 17th July 2011 03:40 PM

yep, I think brilliant lost its initial meaning in English, now as you said they use it as "good" or "smart" talking about somebody.

In Spanish it can mean that but also "bright", shiny, radiant, glowing, or even "diamond", so :P

Raiu-Ayu 17th July 2011 03:47 PM

OMG I just typed 'brillante' into Google and this is the second result:

But in spanish "brillante" can also mean "good". Él tiene una idea brillante. (he has a brilliant idea). So I think the meaning is the same, :)

What really matters is that the song should be good!! XD. This title has lots of discussion!! We all hope it's a good song! haha.

Ugh it would be italian as well :laugh actually it would be the same for every language with latin roots though lol.

Anyway it's the song I'm looking forward the most :D really can't wait.

I think Ayu named song Brillante instead of Brilliant because.... Oh, don't you know this song, Mirrocle World? Step you? You do. You got the anserw xD

I don't think so, because BRILLANTE is not a typo or a voluntary mistake, but REAL world that exists.
It would be about something either smart/clever or shiny/sparkling.

Kazeyomi 17th July 2011 04:55 PM

I think she use BRILLANTE because it sounded exotic to her lol.

jiarongisme 17th July 2011 04:59 PM

"Brillante" is actually a music term too, where a certain piece of music is played with brilliance and bright manner. I'm kinda expecting this song to be quite grand-sounding. And maybe with a strong orchestral backing.

Why? I want more, they stand out. Especially GREEN. Lady Dynamite wasn't as good but still really fun. And I like seeing gaythemed videos that are not completely sexualized and only for shock value a la "look, two guys making out!!!"
