Ayu is still performing HONEY in her concerts so why shouldn't she perform Virgin Road which probably was made even before she met Mannie? She might have other songs in her repertoire connected to certain people she no longer is close to should she stop performing them as well? Ayu lives the moment and doesn't regret.

they are close but just as brother and sister.

ayu once said that Shu-ya is like a dad to her, so unfortunately no chance for any romance there. :P

You're right about Virgin Road. I mean, she met Mannie while filming the PV, so the lyrics and concept were planned without him in mind. She didn't know him when she wrote it. Same with all the single tracks that involved him. I think that if there is any awkwardness with songs for Ayu, its going to be the album tracks on Love songs, like November as someone said. But, that's if Ayu lets it bother her. I'm sure she probably wrote a song about Nagase and still sings it.

Yeah! There are lots of singers that have written songs about people but still sing them. It's not just for them, it's for the songs. If you write a song and it becomes a big hit, then you have to be prepared to please fans and sing it. I know Ayu wouldn't have to, but I'm sure she'll sing songs even if they remind her of past relationships.

I think it's more describing the nature of their relationship. Shu-ya has been there for Ayu for years, probably giving her advice etc.

femtrooper 27th January 2012 05:32 AM

Yeah, I can see that.

Zeke. 27th January 2012 06:36 AM

Although I do remember reading the reason she does not like to sing poker face much is because of how her Grandmother died after she left her side to go and record it.

Mai82Go 27th January 2012 10:25 AM

^But she did sing poker face again. Although she doesn't perform it often,, you're right because of her grandmother. But even though it is her debut song it wasn't such a big hit if I remember it correctly. She doesn't perform most of her earlier singles.

@happiholic★
HONEY is the Tomoya Nagase song. :) At least the most obvious one. There are probably more.

SummonerXI 27th January 2012 11:27 AM

I love HONEY though. I'm glad she still sings it.

I do have to ask one question: If the earthquake and tsunami never happened, would Ayu still be married?

Also, is she officially divorced now?

Okay, so I asked two questions :P

If this is true than it shows the bad side to manuel

FULL ARTICLE
Spoiler:
Japanese diva Ayumi Hamasaki wedded Austrian model-actor Manuel Schwarz on 1 Jan last year.

Now just barely over a year later, the two have called it quits.

Ayumi had issued an official statement on her divorce days ago, citing that the distance between Manuel and her, as well as her unwillingness to leave Japan for the reasons behind the split.

According to overseas media reports, the singer has reportedly signed a 200 million yen (S$3.2 million) confidentiality agreement with Manuel, where the latter is not allowed to leak any inside information pertaining to their divorce.

Other conditions of the agreement include not being allowed to pose for a nude pictorial, work for any Japanese publishing house, discuss anything about her with anyone or ask for more money in future.

If Manuel does not adhere to the agreement, he would face a huge penalty.

When asked, Ayumi’s management company denied the existence of the agreement, but her lawyer, however, did not refute the rumour.

On the other hand, the singer, who recently returned home to Japan after working in Dubai, refused to make any comments when she was approached by reporters at the airport.

It was only when Ayumi heard one reporter ask about what she had to say to her fans that she responded.

“I’m sorry to have caused anyone to worry,” she said.

She later left a cryptic message on Twitter which seemed to be about her divorce with Manuel.

“I have no regrets because it was what I wanted at the time!” the singer wrote.

interesting..
and that's a lot of money!!! Mannie can live happily ever after...if he can manage the money wisely

happiholic★ 15th February 2012 07:33 AM

I love how the article got her quote from Twitter totally wrong. I'm sure that wasn't intentional.

I wonder what Mannie would have said if he was allowed. I mean, the fact that she paid him of in the first place is a little curious.

EDIT: I'm meant to say "I'm sure is was intentional". I think the tabloid wanted to twist her words.

Aderianu 15th February 2012 07:43 AM

I hope that's just a tabloid article
can't imagine Ayu paid so much money for silence when she can help her country

ayu_ready? 15th February 2012 12:22 PM

I always hated him :D
