KAT-TUN achieve their 23rd consecutive No.1 single

Popular group KAT-TUN released their 23rd single "Dead or Alive" on January 21, and they've found themselves at the top of Oricon's single ranking.

The new single's first week sales reached 192,000 copies, and it allowed the group to grab the No.1 spot on Oricon's single weekly ranking.

"Dead or Alive" is their 23rd consecutive chart-topping single since their debut song "Real Face" (released in March 2006), and they are ranked in second place for the record of "the number of consecutive chart-topping single since debut", following KinKi Kids (with 34 singles).

KAT-TUN's new single 'KISS KISS KISS' to be released in March

KAT-TUN's new single "KISS KISS KISS" will be released on March 11.

The title track will serve as the theme song for TV Asahi's drama 'Second Love' premiering on February 6. In the drama, member Kamenashi Kazuya plays the part of a dancer who falls in love with a high school teacher played by Fukada Kyoko. It's a sexy song that will add heat to the melodrama.

The single will be released in 3 different types: Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2, an Regular Edition. Limited Edition 1 DVD will contain the PV and making footage for "KISS KISS KISS", while Limited Edition 2 DVD will contain an original special footage. Each CD will come with different coupling tracks. Among the 3, Limited Edition 2 will include a song by Taguchi Junnosuke and Nakamaru Yuichi, and a song by Kamenashi Kazuya and Ueda Tatsuya.

Kamenashi Kazuya & Fukada Kyoko Find Their New Roles Challenging

KAT-TUN's Kamenashi Kazuya and actress Fukada Kyoko attended the press conference for their upcoming TV Asahi Winter 2015 drama, "Second Love". The series' script was written by Shizuka Oishi.

The drama follows the story of 'Kei Taira' (Kamenashi), a skilled dancer who later met and fell into a relationship with senior high teacher, 'Yui Nishihara' (Fukada). Nishihara is older than Taira and the situation gets even more twisted as she also has an extra-marital affair with her colleague.

The two actors were both surprised with their characters and the script as it has a touch of provocativeness especially for Kamenashi who is often required to be shirtless in some scenes. They also hope that they will get a notch higher in their careers from playing their roles in the new TV series.

Catch Second Love's pilot episode tonight at 11:15 p.m. It will air every Friday.

INKT, with former KAT-TUN member Tanaka Koki, announces their 2nd mini album

5-member rock band INKT which former KAT-TUN member Tanaka Koki serves as the main vocalist, announced that they would release their 2nd mini album entitled "Physalis" on April 25.

The announcement was made during the band's one-man live "the birth of INKT" held at BIGCAT, Osaka on February 21st. As soon as they announced it, they performed its lead track "Physalis" in front of 800 audience, and received loud cheers and applause.

INKT performed 15 tracks during the 2-hour live concert including "Trigger", the lead track from their previous album. They are also scheduled to hold another one-man live at EX Theater Roppongi, Tokyo, on May 5th.

KAT-TUN's Ueda Tatsuya Challenged To Survive In The Arctic Circle

KAT-TUN member Ueda Tatsuya has challenged himself to survive in the arctic circle for 100 hours.

The challenge is part of TBS's "World Extreme Survival" program. The show challenges celebrities to survive for 100 hours in exotic, dangerous places across the world.

For Ueda's challenge, the idol had to endure frigid cold temperatures that dropped as low as -50 Celsius (-58 Fahrenheit) while scavenging for food.

After surviving the challenge, Ueda expressed his gratitude for being back in Japan with its pleasant weather.

Ueda's challenge will be broadcast on TBS on April 7.
