Warning lyrics similar to until that Day
|
Does no one else notice how WARNING totally sounds like a track from the rock section of NEXT LEVEL? lol
WARNING and Out of control are the only 2 songs I'm looking forward to at this point. I'm not really that excited for them either, but I'm sure I'll listen to them from time to time. I don't hate NO FUTURE, but I really wish she'd decide on a sound already. Just stop mixing the 20-years-dated anime-melody TK shit in with the rest of your songs. It was fine for one album for Love songs, but at this point she's just bogging her albums down with cheesy as fuck, out of place, incompetently composed shit that ruins any possible cohesion any of her recent albums could have had. :grumpy These songs just aren't going to work together as an album, or as a mini album bloated with interludes for that matter. We have 3 non-ballads, and 2 of those 3 are basically the same anime-reject TK track??? The rest are just ballads. Just one generic ballad after another. X_x I wish I could see this as the return to form some of you guys seem to think it is, but it isn't. It's just more LOVE again. I don't get it. I don't get what's so hard about making a proper full album either lmao. |
It seems like the song Ayu is the most enthusiastic about (The GIFT) is the most disliked among us lol.
But I suppose The GIFT will be a hit in Japan, since they are suckers of those mellow-marshmallow-ballads. |
These were my feelings while listening to each one...
I actually do not care for WARNING a whole lot. I don't hate it, but I find that it sounds so familiar...like...I can't think of what it sounds like to me... I think The GIFT is pretty. XD Hmm, I really like NO FUTURE a lot so far. It totally sounds like a song that would've suited Love Songs. Wow, it really does sound like "Like a Doll" and a little bit like Friend II. Out of Control made me think of some of the songs from Party Queen. And WHOA we really are getting Snowy Kiss part II... XD That HAD to be on purpose, right?! I actually like it though...I like better than Snowy Kiss from what I've heard. It makes me want to dance :D :D :D And I knew from the other previews that I'd like Story quite a bit. I like her vocals best and the overall progression and feeling it has. STILL... ...I think Walk will be my favorite song on A ONE. I think overall, this album has a nice amount of energy to me. Even the slower songs aren't a total snooze-fest. (Sorry for the long post!) |
Everyone keeps mentioning snowy kiss but the only melody that keeps popping up in my head when I read "snowy kiss" is sending mail...

Haha! Oh yeah, "the song that never ends." I don't dislike snowy kiss but every time I think it's going to end I hear "SAYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A" and I'm like, "Really? Again?" LOL.
|
Warning - well that one was fierce and baddass even in the lame quality preview lol . It's like a sister of "Lady dynamite". Just a bit better. It just has the same attitude lol Like "Move, biotch, i'm on the scene!" lol
The Gift - i dunno why people hate it so much. I think it's such a warm song. A really beautiful song. I love that piano. I somehow think the instruments, the ones that are used for it are rather unusualy combined, like it makes me think of The Beatles for some reason.. I really think it's a very heartwarming song. No future - that's some sort of weird hybrid, but i'm kinda digging it. It's interesting. It reminds me of something but i cannot put my finger on anything lol Out of control - newly born sister of "call"! She even sounds a lot like in "call". I'm in love! I also love the drums in this. Show must go on - surprsingly i'm digging that one. And i have to say it's better than snowy kiss >D. It has more character than that one. Story - loved how when the song climbed into chorus it bloomed into these different sounds. Lovelly one. An other warm one as well. Neither of these two ballads make me feel sad. They are so soft and did i mention heartwarming? lol exactly. I'm totally not disapointed cuz i feel like they are going to grow on me even more. Cuz i'm left with a very lovelly feeling. Well done, Ayu ^_^d Also am i the only one who thinks she sounds amazing in these? her vocals in the Gift totally gave me shivers. I also have to say i like how they all are kind of different. Each song seems to be going for a different impression on a listener at least to me, and i have to say i've always liked when artists put a lot of variety in their albums. Cuz for example Colours it was soooooo the same apart from a few songs. Which made it even worse for me. Cuz i get borred very quickly lol ANd stuff like this "cohesive" aproach just makes it all one long track for me lol I like being surprised with every track like "hey, i was not expecting that to come now" lol yeah... |
to me the songs are just "meh" :(
WARNING: repetitive, sounds like until the day, and i hate until the day. The GIFT : meh..(nothing, NOTHING special) NO FUTURE: kind interesting Out of Control: generic and boring B side s**t WHOA: classic TK melody that you have to lower the volume in your car. Story : meh x10 Seriously i would preffer a dance album with cheap sound and fully produced by RED ONE |
No future is Trauma!

Actually, I really liked Colours because she didn't take it too seriously and just gave us some fun stuff made by competent producers. I feel like part of the problem here is that she's trying to take it seriously but doesn't really... have the team to deliver something that takes itself seriously like this right now. idk. |
The album still sounds quite promising with the hq previews.
I just want to commit suicide when I hear the first notes of The Gift. I just don't understand her tastes at all... If she really has any. Is this really the "came from heaven" BS she was talking about? The melody is nice sure (even if it's predictable from the start to the end), but the arrangements, oh god... Can you be MORE LAZY SERIOUSLY? :headache Is it possible to be less uninspired or have she and her team reached the limit? The Show Must Go On's first notes with those guitars... PURE LOVE :luv2. Too bad they aren't """"""experimenting"""""" that much with different sounds like this. It would really transcend the melodies and give some freshness while remaining true to her style. I wonder if they will understand this someday... It does sound like snowy kiss. While I hate the latter (too noisy, too long, boring), TSMGO sounds great IMO! Some other arrangements don't sound really interesting either (Story), but I'm still looking forward to hearing them. Eventually I'm quite excited! |

I knew the day would come when ayu would just... start singing random songs like all of these in this new album.
I'm not disappointed (fucking hate seeing that word in here tbh), I'm rather uninterested, bored and just... want something exciting, and it's not going to happen with this album. Gonna pass this time. Good luck though. |
The composition of no future is perfect. I agree that the first part sounds more like Like a Doll but I develops to be so much more. And something different from other compositions in ayu's disco. I really really need that song. It's exactly what I needed ayu to produce. And actually towards the end of the preview, it reminds me of something I'd hear from hear from I've Sound, which I also love dearly lol. So it's perfect. Ugh. I'm so in love. I can't wait to hear it in full and pick apart all of the musical intricacies.
This album is shaping up to be nice, though I don't care much for the Gift. I already love the single except for Zutto... But that's whatever. And everything will fit in a nice way. This album, just from previews is already developing a certain mood for me, I'll figure it out when it's all released. I wish I knew the theme though. The songs have the potential to be cohesive and work well together but that depends on how she arranges them. And then what the overall theme will be. She better not fuck it up lol Warning sounds like it was made by Fall Out Boy or something at some parts lol. But I love it. Ayu is really bae right now. Colours was a good album but some of the songs were just so...I don't know how to describe it...lame composition-wise and just fun. So this is so much more for me. Now I just need a booklet with quality of the colours one lol and awesome covers. I wish she'd do another photo book. She's looked so awesome lately. |
No Future's still my favorite, I hope that the beginning part repeats itself throughout the song.
I actually liked The Gift more than Story... The Show Must Go On sounds really cool!! (TK anyone? lol). WARNING and Out of control are awesomeness. |
I'm really looking forward to the album after hearing the previews. The upbeat songs sound like they're going to be great, and I don't think the ballads are terrible at all. Both Story and THE GIFT sound sweet. The Show Must Go On does remind me a lot of snowy kiss though, but she might be alluding to it in the lyrics.

As for the previews, I am most excited for Out of control. There are so many intricacies and layers it makes me excited. It reminds me of the quality found on MY STORY. Now that someone mentioned it, WARNING does sound a lot like Lady Dynamite. Sadly I am not fond of that song but WARNING sounds great! It's more like until that Day which I like. NO FUTURE sounds really interesting and bouncy. I did not expect it to sound as electronic. I'm excited for this as well. I do have to say, however, that I am disappointed in The Show Must Go On. Blatant snowy kiss ripoff, and I love that song. I wish the beginning guitar intro was prevalent throughout the entire song, but we will see what the bridge does. As for the ballads, I am much more excited for Storywhich, like Walk, has a subtle oriental feeling. The GIFT is nothing to write home about. It's pretty typical, but it does have a very sweet, heartwarming feeling. Both ballads do, like artcika said earlier. I really do hope that the two songs not played are actually full songs. Even though this album is more of a "return-to-form" so an intro and interlude would make sense. I'm still excited for everything! |

No Future's intro is perfect!
The rest are pretty bland to me so far, but I think ill enjoy Warning aswell! Really hope the other 2 tracks aren't interludes (I know they probably will be). Feel like this album needs more upbeat songs, maybe she should throw You & Me in at the end hahahaha. |
