I hope she is alright. This is the first time I've heard of her having anemia!!

What rotten luck she has had recently, I hope she chooses to postpone the PCDL and if she does perform the other lives that she will go easy and sit down while performing with no sudden movements :(

This happened in her apartment according to sources. No one else was around I'm guessing? They said her staff took her to the hospital, so she did seek help. According to an article on another thread, she injured her hand on Christmas Eve and got emergency surgery on Christmas Day. If it was an emergency, I'm going to guess it happened on the same night and she got her surgery after midnight, which would make it Christmas.

I always thought it was because she didn't get enough sleep that led up to this. Now I'm reading it's anemia...which from my understanding of it has no correlation to sleep at all. I've read that it can affect your sleeping patterns.

Poor Ayu.
I hope she will perform on Kouhaku, I can't imagine any other snger/group to be the first.

AyuMyu 28th December 2008 11:32 AM

Usually she must run because kouhaku &her concert 's opening hour is very close! If she cancel Kouhaku, it's maybe to be in great shape for PCDL

Ayu injures hand, may drop out of Kohaku
Sat, December 27, 2008 (8:24pm EST)

Pop star Ayumi Hamasaki has suffered an injury to her right hand. According to her agency, she fell down some stairs on Christmas Eve due to anemia. She underwent an emergency operation on Christmas Day, but it said that the injury will take about three weeks to completely heal.

Hamasaki was scheduled to appear on the Music Station Super Live on Friday, but she had to cancel her performance due to the injury. It has not yet been decided whether she will still participate in NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen on December 31, even though she has been chosen as the opening artist of the contest.

If Hamasaki cancels her appearance at Kohaku, there is the possibility that the performances will start with Akira Fuse or that a replacement will be found. A decision should be reached by the time of the show's rehearsal on December 29.

guys her hand is broken. I hope you all know that, so she cant perform at all as much as Ayumi wants to disagree. But I dont think a women deserves to put that much pressure on herself for many years Miss Hamasaki has given the greatest live shows and the best time possible. But this time she must fall back and stop everything and just rest this is hard for me to type. But Im begining to see that Ayumi could be in danger her blood pressure was low she doesn't get enough sleep and she needs that, I have a feeling that its Avex that is making her work to hard they need to take care of there star. What happens if she decides to do the performance and she has another attack of anemia its not only her hand she fell she must be in so much pain dont you all see that and it hurts for me to know that shes half deaf and now with a broken hand. Shes my hero and even heros need there rest with 4 days to go she wont be able to go through with it I dont want her too and I hope most of the Ayu fans agree. Thank you Miss Hamasaki for everything! Please be safe have someone with you at all times!

Part of me wants ayu to rest well instead of aggravating her hand's condition, part of me hates to see ayu being replaced by someone else to do the opening of a prestigious event D;

Jwiz 28th December 2008 12:44 PM

^ Which is tomorrow...this is so nerve wrecking!

makie_7 28th December 2008 12:59 PM

Thanks for the news. If she has anemia is not just her hand, it may be difficult to do efforts, dance, maybe sing, she may feel tired. I hope she takes care and doesnt do too much efforts. I'm worried if she performs the PCDL, it's 3.5 hours singing and dancing! I don't want her to suffer the consequences of her anemia on stage and fall or feel sick. and her arm with all the movement could get worse.
Take care Ayu!

Ayumi27 28th December 2008 01:30 PM

Wow, she may use a headset, but it would be better if she decided to perform Days, because MW may imply choreography

pUrpLeSn0w 28th December 2008 01:47 PM

there'll always be another NHK red & white singing contest, she can always join again next year, i mean, what's more impt now to her is her health..right? she can make use of this "opportunity" to have a rest.. *sigh*

se7entheaven 28th December 2008 02:05 PM

she can use headset mic and then can just move her hands a little
thats all

dez0424 28th December 2008 02:42 PM

it's not only about the microphone.
since she will be singing MW on Kouhaku,
it means she will need to do all that dancing and swinging her hands so hardly.
she can't do it with an arm that have just been operated on.

i think ayu want to either not do it, or do the best.
she won't want to just stand and twist her waist a little and call it a performance.

i'm worried about this since the CDL will be for such a long time,
the more she use force on her injured arm,
the higher the possibilty trouble will happen as time goes on.
it won't be cool if her stitches break during CDL.

prussian blue 28th December 2008 03:13 PM

this is horrible, ayu was working too much for the show. i hope she will learn from this mistake and get a better and healthier schedule next time

AyumiBest 28th December 2008 03:27 PM

OMG! THE STAIRS?!! TT.TT
I'm sorry Ayu...please rest you really deserve it.
