Incase anyone missed it, here it is, The performance from last nights Grammys

I thought it was quite nice, not like her usual performances! It had an intimate quality to it once Jay Z appeared, they have such a strong presence on stage together, and gosh lookatthatbooty.

ame-na-otoko 27th January 2014 09:35 PM

I like Drunk in Love but I abhor Jay-Z's verse due to the crude reference to Tina Turner being smashed about. :(
The performance was nice but her hair looks greasy and lanker than owt.

It' so strange that BEYONCÉ isn't doing well in Japan '-'

it peaked #9 and sold only 16,648 copies till now. Sales rised a bit during these two last weeks due to the japanese edition release, but these numbers accumulate 11 weeks on charts since it's also counting the american imported edition sales.

I'm sure the digital numbers in iTunes Japan is much better.

brener 27th February 2014 03:25 AM

Do you have some link from iTunes Japan top 100?

brener 1st March 2014 11:30 AM

So she isn't doing good even digitally there... Her songs aren't charting on Recochoku either

GREENsora 18th April 2014 07:53 AM

So..apparently, Jay-Z and Beyonce may hold a summer tour together? *fan girl scream*

Andrenekoi 18th April 2014 09:17 AM

Beyoncé was never a big seller in Japan...

I won't trash Beyonce too harsh for Formation, but I will say Formation is going to make it hard for Beyonce to be as varied an artist moving forward. She's going to be slapped around very hard by fans if she goes back to a more pop-oriented sound; it will look like she's selling out. Not like she has to worry about the bills, but using your platform to make a political statement usually comes back to bite. (Madonna, Dixie Chicks, among others.)

I just hope 'Yonce will veer away from the Rihanna-type stuff. I've always seen 'Yonce as too sophisticated for the bargain ghetto stuff Rihanna has put on her last few records. Formation is a huge step toward a more niche sound. No offense, but as a white fan, I feel a little out of place listening to Formation.

oaristos 16th February 2016 04:32 PM

I'm white and I don't feel out of place listening to Formation at all. I don't understand many parts of it because it was clearly not written for me, but that doesn't make me enjoy it less. I think it sounds different and fierce (and the video is everything!), that's enough for me :)

It makes me happy you had this reaction! I'm not African-American either, but I think pride in one's culture and being outspoken about any political message you have should be reflected in music. All art is a reflection of society at a given time and place anyway.

Beyonce scalping all of us again by releasing LEMONADE unexpectedly. Unfortunately, only available for streaming through TIDAL but I'm sure people already got rips of the album. I hope she releases it physically, getting tired of TIDAL artists releasing their stuff only through that outlet.

thinkingoutloud89 24th April 2016 09:06 PM

Lemonade is not as good as Beyonce too me, altough both are pretty different.
And actually: it was obvious she would do this stunt again...which was cool the first time around but nothing special this second time.
