They don't. brener has no idea what he's talking about.

Oricon used to use 1.75 as an index to get the estimated total sales for the day. They've stopped using it years ago. Oricon does not count digital sales in any way.

Also Tal correct me if I'm wrong but =>
...
Total Sales: 132,159 + x
...
3rd Day
Position: #2
Daily Sales: 4,159
Sales: 9,294 + x
Total Sales: 141,453 + x

I wonder if the CD will be sold alongside the game in some venues and if the release will affect sales~

except Famitsu is notorious for being an easy grader and giving out perfect scores like they're candy?

You forgot to add the first day sales too though xD
The sales this week so far are 9,294 + unknown one day (x) so adding it to the total is 141,453 + x (the unknown day).

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2011 07:06 PM

lol, all these numbers are sooo confusing!

bluegie 8th September 2011 07:33 PM

Now I wonder if ayu can get no. 1 this week, seeing KREVA got a sudden boost today (7k copies)... :P

Weren't the weekly sales 127k + 9k that's not 141k, but 136k + x >.< which might be around 141k total, but not 141k + x or am I missing something?

You see I am sure you added the 1st day twice...So the sales so far are 132,159 (first week + first day of the 2nd week) + x (2nd day) + 4,159 (3rd day) = 136,138 + x

Fifteen games have received perfect scores from Famitsu. They are listed in chronological order:

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998, Nintendo, for Nintendo 64)[9]
Soulcalibur (1999, Namco, for Dreamcast)[10]
Vagrant Story (2000, Square Co., for PlayStation)[10]
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (2003, Nintendo, for Nintendo GameCube)[10]
Nintendogs (2005, Nintendo, for Nintendo DS)[10]
Final Fantasy XII (2006, Square Enix, for PlayStation 2)[10]
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008, Nintendo, for Wii)[11]
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (2008, Konami, for PlayStation 3)[12]
428: Fūsa Sareta Shibuya de (2008, Sega, for Wii)[13]
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies (2009, Square Enix, for Nintendo DS)[14]
Monster Hunter Tri (2009, Capcom, for Wii)[15]
Bayonetta (2009, Sega, for Xbox 360)[16]
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (2009, Nintendo, for Wii)[17]
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (2010, Konami, for PlayStation Portable)[18]
Pokémon Black and White (2010, Nintendo, for Nintendo DS)[19]

Games that received a near-perfect score of 39 (in which one of four reviewers gives the game a "9" while the other three give "10's") include:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991, Nintendo, for Super Famicom)[20]
Virtua Fighter 2 (1995, Sega, for Sega Saturn)[20]
Ridge Racer Revolution (1995, Namco, for PlayStation)[20]
Super Mario 64 (1996, Nintendo, for Nintendo 64)[20]
Tekken 3 (1998, Namco, for PlayStation)[20]
Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Oratorio Tangram (1999, Sega, for Dreamcast)[20]
Final Fantasy X (2001, Square Co., for PlayStation 2)[20]
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (2001, Sony Computer Entertainment, for PlayStation 2)[20]
Resident Evil (2002, Capcom, for Nintendo GameCube)[20]
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (2004, Square Enix, for PlayStation 2)[21]
Gran Turismo 4 (2004, Sony Computer Entertainment, for PlayStation 2)[20]
Kingdom Hearts II (2005, Square Enix, for PlayStation 2)[22]
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (2005, Konami, for PlayStation 2)[20]
Dead or Alive 4 (2005, Tecmo, for Xbox 360)[23]
Ōkami (2006, Capcom, for PlayStation 2)[24]
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (2007, Nintendo, for Nintendo DS)[25]
Grand Theft Auto IV (2008, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[26]
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009, Activision, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[27]
Final Fantasy XIII (2009, Square Enix, for PlayStation 3)[28]
Red Dead Redemption (2010, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[29]
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 (2010, Namco Bandai Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[30]
Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010, Activision, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[31]
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (2010, Capcom, for PlayStation Portable)[32]
L.A. Noire (2011, Rockstar Games, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3)[33]
Tales of Xillia (2011, Namco Bandai, for PlayStation 3)[34]
As you can see Square-Enix and NINTENDO games get perfect/near-perfect scores often. Imo FFXII is everything but outstanding. And Bayonetta getting a perfect score just screams that someone gave them loads of cash...

I thought they gave out like only 20 perfect ratings in their whole run, too o.0

truehappiness 8th September 2011 07:47 PM

Well, it depends on the person which is why they have four graders, right? (about FFXII)

The only real puzzler I guess is Bayonetta but I suppose that is why they have rating systems like this to begin with. Looking back, scores across the board for Bayonetta were pretty good so I don't -really- see the problem with the 40/40.

To make this relevant to Ayu, my point was that being rated so highly can bode well for Tales of Xillia which in turn can result in a few more copies of FIVE sold to the public. Maybe not too much more, but sales are sales and even just a few thousand more copies would be awesome~

TeamAyu2004 8th September 2011 07:50 PM

Totally wish this album could get the top spot for the month...

What are the other two weeks looking like for releases??
Anything major???

As for the game reviews.. I agree with some things on them, but its my understanding that the reviews are a matter of opinion? So it's highly possible that all four could like a game and a majority of people might not agree with them (Say for instance Bayonetta)

Ah I am not saying Xillia isn't an amazing game (as it's currently among the games I'd like the play the most) just that Famitsu Rankings are over-rated and that they might not be as un-biased as it seems. Especially considering that Bayonetta got a perfect score and Uncharted 2 didn't :innocent And come on, I doubt that any person with a sane mind could actually prefer FFXII over FFX and give FFX the same ranking as the one FFXIII got >_>

@njanjayrp
So, their grades aren't prestigious cuz they underrate games u love and overrates games u hate? :P Oh my, fandom is such a funny thing xD

No...that's beyond the point. When it comes to Uncharted 2, this is the list of the awards that the game has got since it was released. So I am not sure if the famed Famitsu couldn't see what everyone else has or if Naughty Dog and Sony just didn't wanna pay up >_>

I am not a fan of Uncharted although I've enjoyed both games. Now if you do your research you will see that Bayonetta was an epic fail compared to it. Now I've completed over 400 games since I was 5, so that kinda gives me around 20 years of gaming experience, it's not that I am talking out of my ass here ^^

Sorry for being off topic, but gaming is my field of knowledge~
