Lately, I've been into music that's... calmer? I wonder if I'm getting tired of dance songs or I'm getting harder to please after finding a lot of awesome artists with unique sounds. Oh oh.

I think the only time I listen to dance tracks is when I'm exercising. But other times... skip skip skip skip. :laugh

Probably since I work a lot of things that requires hours to finish, I need ambient with music stuff. Or easy to listen.

emi♡ 27th April 2012 07:13 AM

^you should check out Faye Wong! :D

calm calm calm~ she's a chinese artist. I think my favorite album is Jiang Ai.

I was hooked on her music for a while, cause it was the only thing I could do homework to lol

reason I checked out back in 2009, which btw is like a godly year for Kpop fans idek for me the idols domination is wayyy too much

anyway the few I still like is e.via ( she is a rapper), Ivy and After School, their Japanese material tbh

===========

maybe I am the only one but my standards are rock bottom for Namie's new album, I hope the 4 tracks are good so badly
these singles this era vary from painfully generic to really good, usually Namie is spot on but this era feels like she was overly commercial and rushed (yah I know its been like 2 years anyway) maybe to please avex or keep her peak

I've actually liked SNSD lately...but less because of the music and more because I love the girls.

In any case, I get why the idol music is popular, but tbh snsd is the only one that has been able to hold my attention so far. And I think it's mostly because I feel like I know the girls better and I know they're talented people who work really hard.

The songs are catchy though and they have a lot of feel good songs, which is something I'm usually in the mood for a lot. Their biggest songs seem to be the ones I like the most. The rest of the albums are all filler for me for the most part.

I don't have any interest at all to get into other groups who make this type of music, because even with all my love for the girls, I can't take too much lol

Anyways, last kpop besides snsd I listened to was...Sunny Hill, T-ARA, and um some others...and meh. I didn't get to listen to Last Fantasy yet though.

I am also meh on Namie's new album. But since I didn't really like Past < Future or any of the single songs besides YEAH-OH, I didn't have high expectations to begin with.

so far in my to buy list in June - 2 albums & a single

it's not counting future concert goods BREAKERZ will be issuing too , especially in July lmao

ah what can I say ? BREAKERZ is the only group that has the ability to make me poor but I don't mind xD

It's amazing how our favorite artists can make us poor but so happy at the same time, lol. So far I have a mini-album and an album preordered for May (I'll be ordering another album in May when it becomes available for preorder) and two albums and a DVD preordered for June. This is excluding all of the other items I want to order that are artist-related. I'll never catch up at this rate, lol.

I know how you feel. Towards the end of last year, I started to gain a preference for slower music rather than fast paced songs. I still listen to dance songs when I'm in the mood but overall, I've been listening to more relaxing music instead. Prior to that, I definitely listened to dance songs a WHOLE lot more than slower songs.

sesshy 27th April 2012 08:38 AM

@Emi: I remember Pommy recommend me to listen to her. I'll check her out. :)
And I get you about getting into Kpop. I was a huge fan of TVXQ (the time they just broke into 2 members. Bad timing...). But I was a fan of their Japanese music than their Korean stuff. (Still am)

I don't know... no matter how much I try listening to the music... I cannot get into it. I still don't understand the hype. The image? The constant update with shows, dramas, etc? I guess it's not my thing or I'm just boring lol. Some catchy songs will get me, but the rest... whatever. And they get old a month later. SNSD... I've only been able to listen to their Japanese stuff. Only kpop bands I listen to are SHINee and TVXQ.
Korean indies and other Korean related music I did get into. (I miss Epik High dammit.)

Oh well.

@AyusakiFan Ah, but I'm not really big on ballad stuff. (You should have seen how annoyed I was during the winter ballad season. :laugh) Unless it's really good.
But yeah, I've been getting into calming music in all languages. Also electro. (★STAR GUiTAR's latest mini album was lovely.) :heart And I'm also into Japanese rock. (UVERworld, Abindon boy school, SPYAIR and such.) for many years. Ahaha :heart

---

I have this habit of imaging PV/MV of songs in my head... Even if they have PV/MV. lol Maybe I should be a director than a graphic designer.... or just do both. Music gives me awesome imagination. <3

TofuBunny 27th April 2012 07:29 PM

lmao who's going around rating the Kpop threads one star :roflmao?

Why would you even bother to enter all these threads you don't like just to do that :tired

About releases, I think I won't be be buying any other releases this year except the full SHINee album that SM promised to us :laugh .. And if EXO release their full album this year as well I'm getting both versions for sure but that's it XD

^ Ah yeah SNSD's Japanese album seems to appeal to JPop fans better. Emi if you haven't listened to it yet you should give it a try :D It's very different than their Korean stuff!

emi♡ 28th April 2012 12:58 AM

^lol whoever did also hates koda :laugh

and I've listened to...Girls Generation, then Run Devil Run, then the Japanese repackage of The Boys...and I think next up is the non-repackage of The Boys in korean lol

so far, actually Run Devil Run has the most songs I like...but I think the Japanese repackage of the Boys is really good, and I agree, I think it's the most appealing for a crossover. It has a really nice tracklist.

I just always always prefer the native language...like I can't even listen to Gee in Japanese :laugh

I really love singing in Korean too, and it's nice to practice again! I forgot all my syllables lol

sesshy 28th April 2012 04:09 AM

^^ I got use to the Japanese one even though I heard the Korean one first. orz I'm a weirdo. Sometimes they annoy me, sometimes I'm all... oh cool, I like this. I think I have love-hate relationship with them. :laugh But I find Sooyoung (Is that her name?) really pretty.

And UVERworld... Are we going to have to wait till the end of the year for your album? I'm ready for one. And I hope Abingdon boys school releases one finally this year.

KarenPang 28th April 2012 12:43 PM

is it a good or bad thing being the only 1 commenting in certain threads in Artistes & Bands ? :x

it's either I'm the only 1 that knows about these group of artistes or I'm just being really stupid in talking to themselves about them ._.

then again I don't want these threads to just 'die' just like that willingly

KarenPang 29th April 2012 04:47 AM

been impressed with what ARASHI has been releasing lately , especially since I'm the most picky person when comes to ARASHI's music

After Wild At Heart , they surprised me once again with Face Down . I so can't wait to hear Your Eyes now since I love the preview for that

KuuXAyu-fan 29th April 2012 05:02 AM

I'm so hyped for Kuu's announcement on May 1st right now. I'm ready to pre-order all editions of whatever new music shes about to put out. :luv2

KarenPang 29th April 2012 05:00 PM

so much nosebleed over the latest batch of BREAKERZ's official fanclub live shop photos omg

how am I supposed to sleep later :tired I should blame my friend for causing this *in mock horror xD

AyusakiFan 29th April 2012 07:47 PM

I'm so proud of Girls' Generation -TTS! They peaked at #4 on the top albums chart when they released their mini-album Twinkle on iTunes US yesterday!
I thought it would chart but I didn't think it would THAT high! They should do well the next time they release something in the US!

I too think I've been getting into calmer music recently due to school. I've been quite stressed out this past semester in particular and I think the slower music has helped to calm my nerves while I'm doing homework and stuff. But now that this semester is over, I may start getting into more dance music especially with summer approaching.

I have that habit of creating my own PVs when I listen to songs too. It typically changes once I see the original MV for the song but if I imagined one that I think is better, I'll stick with my version, lol.

To be honest, I laughed about it too when I saw the person downrated all the kpop threads. They downrated the 2NE1 thread that I created too, lol. They probably downrated Kuu because a kpop artist is a big fan of hers, lol. I find it funny that this person took the time to actually go in each individual thread to do so when all they had to do was ignore the threads for artists they don't like. It's quite immature. I voted them back up again though. :ytongue:

I do Graphic Design/Web Design, organizing my family's financial stuff and been planning my future so the calming music does help a lot. Relaxing and get me out of my artist block.

Same here! :laugh I remember when I first listen to Party Queen, I didn't watch the PV first. So already imagined PV's for each song... Well after watching them, I prefer my own. orz

-----

I listened to MEG for the first time. She's not bad... but could be a little more unique because some the songs I heard sounded the same to me. That typical style artists like to use.

I finally get to know Laruku deeper...

hyde made me squeal with his adorableness, he's just a combination of cute and cool at the same time (*A*) his accent is just too cute. Ken is very talkative and Tetsu is just simple dork :laugh Yuki stays quiet all the time lol
