- Entry application for a special event

No poster this time? :eyes

I'm surprised at that, but also maybe not. The limited pressing of the repackage seemed to be more popular because it had posters as a bonus instead of cheap rubber coasters. Universal is probably trying to make the deluxe edition more appealing this time by making posters part of the package along with all the usual extraneous, useless junk. :P

I preordered the limited edition of the single and the deluxe edition of the album on YesAsia together to get free shipping for the single (and one of those Japanese toys that you get free when you purchase two Japanese items, lol), but unfortunately that means that I won't be able to listen to the single until it comes with the album (I don't listen to anything except the promotional tracks before I receive my physical CDs). Fortunately, I'm quite patient when it comes to these kinds of things so it's not much of a problem, especially since I'm saving money. Anyways, looking at the partial tracklist for the album, I'm SO happy that I didn't purchase their "Oh!" single. Based on their previous releases, I had a feeling that all of the content on the single would be on the album and it is.

I hope they can release the OS press soon !!!

"Oh!" Performance

Talk Session - A brief interview in which the members were asked to say one thing about another member. Taeyeon complimented Jessica’s free spirit, Sooyoung brought up Yoona’s beauty, Jessica described Tiffany’s voice, and Yoona spoke of Sunny’s cuteness after Sunny gave an example of her infamous aegyo, which caused MC Imada Koji, a fan of Girls’ Generation, to fall on the floor in happiness. ^thanks a lot !!
It was a great performance!!!
I especially like ALL MY LOVE IS FOR YOU, this song is growing on me a lot !!! It's not a boring song anymore for me

AyusakiFan 8th October 2012 04:22 PM

While I still feel that "All My Love Is For You" is pretty generic, it has grown on me as well. I don't love it but I like it more than I did when I first heard it.

Overall, I think that the singles that have been released thus far in this era aren't as strong as any of their previous tracks from their first Japanese album (excluding "FLOWER POWER" AND "Beep Beep" as we haven't heard them yet). I'm hoping that the album tracks for their upcoming album make up for it and I'm looking forward to hearing the digest so we can get a feel for what the album will sound like.

ExodusUK 8th October 2012 04:35 PM

omg i'm still embarrassed for them that only sooyoung and seohyun can only really speak Japanese, they debuted two years. TVXQ and BoA were speaking it during their first few singles promotions.

Utena 8th October 2012 05:26 PM

Oh man.. again? Not going to go into too much details, but here's what you need to understand:

How can you compare SNSD to BoA and TVXQ? They are definitly not in the same situation, kpop wasn't as big as it is now, THEY HAVE to remain active in Korea and all over the planet. Moreover, Japan is not their top priority, they made it pretty clear from the start.. It's just a way to milk Japanese fans and grab new fans at the same time lol.. Learning Japanese actually requires a LOT of time, which is not something they have on their hands.. It's not like 9 girls can go on a hiatus to learn a language, and they would need more than a few months.. They all have different schedules when they're not performing as a group. How can you expect them to add in some Japanese classes?! During the few hours of sleep they have? Don't be ridiculous. Saying it like it's such an easy thing to do.. You mentionned Boa? She took a few years to learn the language, even before she actually DEBUTED there (even before debuting in Korea), same applies for TVXQ.. So before stating something like that, do some background research or just don't say anything.

There is more to it than just learning a new language.. Not to mention how hard it is for Korean people to learn Japanese, you wouldn't think it's that difficult, but it is.

ExodusUK 8th October 2012 05:42 PM

excuses, excuses...
Korea is their top priority? They've released 3 singles in Japan this year, a DVD, announced a tour and album. One subunit album in Korea..their priority is where the money is and it's not Korea.

ahtka-chan 8th October 2012 05:44 PM

I agree with Utena, but even so, I still think it's extremely disrespectful going to a different country and start singing things you don't even know what is.

And it's not like they seem to be interested in learning...

SM just wants to mik money, that's a fact.

yeah, thanks for repeating what I've just said. You've proven yourself very useful. You forgot the other half of the story though.. They also had various solo acts (dramas, songs, other events) and a korean album on its way... That's pretty much 50/50. Releasing a CD in Japan doesn't imply doing tons of lives each weeks either, so Idk what you're talking about. Remember Twinkle? You know, that song they promoted for WEEEEEEEKS.

I'm not saying it's not lacking respect for Japan, but things are just what they are. They're definitly milking the Japanese market and that's all they need.
Idk if we can say that they're not interested into learning, it's not something we, as outsiders, can know. It may just be a lack of time. I know I haven't taken a Japanese lesson for a year simply because I can't make time to do so even though I want to.

emi♡ 8th October 2012 08:24 PM

I don't think it's that disrespectful.

Learning a language is difficult. ESPECIALLY when you have a **** load of things going on in your life.

They're people too.

♥ you! 8th October 2012 10:22 PM

Top groups like KARA and T-ara have taken an effort to learn the language though...and they have very busy schedules. I'm sure there's some boy groups I could name too but I don't pay attention to any of them.

If it was only their first year of debuting in Japan then fine but I do think it's starting to look bad now

I know this is kind of unrelated but this forever. You understand me. :yes :heart

terra 9th October 2012 05:41 AM

I don't know about T-ara but KARA has been learning Japanese long before this all happen. During 2009's Kpop boom they showed that they had a hiragana-katakana study board or some sort in their dorm, they were surely meant to debut in Japan.

SNSD's debut in Japan were not as sure as KARA's until it was clear from that they were debuting after DBSK's scandal from avex etc. And in my opinion Nayutawave intentionally market the girls as foreign artists unlike BoA or DBSK, a group that release stuff in local language but doesn't intend to stay there. I think if they debuted with avex they may have the language learning first.
