High by the Beach is fabulous! I really loved it. :heart Also, I got some Once Upon A Time in Mexico vibes from this PV. I really like that movie. :heart

Lana songs rarely played in here. How disappointing.

The only Lana song I have heard on radio in my country was Born To Die and that was years ago. :( None of her songs released after that song were able to get plays on the radio stations. It totally sucks because Lana is more amazing than so many other popstars out there. :'(

oaristos 15th August 2015 04:17 AM

The only thing I ever heard on the radio was that remix of Summertime Sadness.

Lana face when she blow up that paparazzi chopper, FIERCE!! LOVE IT!!
And when her robe snagged and she use all her might to pull it, I thought 'poor beautiful robe'. Kinda funny though. And I think using a fictional Alien movie gun was kinda lame, it's pretty obvious the size of the gun didn't match with that guitar case. She should carry a AT4 launcher or RPG 7 AT, now THAT'S a pure WHAMMO.
This makes me wonder if Lana is getting on the nerve about paparazzi stalking her or is this about her latest love life with that fashion photographer?
I thought radio stations in my country is the only one who 'reject' Lana's songs. It's kinda ridiculous though, when other artist could be more explicit in the lyrics (if that the main problem why Lana's song rarely updated and played) mix with tacky music.

I'm not really fond of the new song, which is surprising :/

I honestly thought I was losing my mind when her hair started moving. The cover art for her new song is really good tho.

Originally HBTB debuted at #7 but due to a margin of error it actually debuted at #51 and the meltdowns are too much.

oaristos 18th August 2015 09:27 PM

^ I cried blood after reading this, was so happy that High by the Beach was a "hit" :no

This is too sad, it's a good song.

Lana never was and never tried to be a charting queen in the US. I don't understand fan reaction. SS remix was an accident of a hit that she didn't even exploit... She doesn't care.

Refix 19th August 2015 12:19 AM

#51, yikes. It's like the end of Lana's era. I thought whenever she drop a single, it will always on top 10 billboards. Wonder why...

Delicious n Bold 19th August 2015 01:10 AM

Even though Lana wasn't actually high by the beach, HBTB will be forever iconic with that billboard failure. A "reverse warholian experience" tea. Everything lana touches turns iconic.

Exactly.

Well, not really. That's actually one of her best positions on the charts in the US, after the remix of Summertime Sadness (#6), West Coast (#17) and Young and Beautiful (#22). Video Games was a moderate hit but it only reached #91, for example.

NintendoHTF1242 19th August 2015 03:04 AM

lol I don't think Lana gives two shits about her singles considering Ultraviolence was #1 on the Billboard Album Charts.

^ I think it's normal for die-hard fans to have a strong reaction regarding sales of their beloved artist :D especially from what I've read that LDR's fandom is quite fanatic.

I loved the song. Having high hopes for the Honeymoon album!!

xLuna&1LOVE 19th August 2015 11:37 AM

Well lets be honest. HBTB was announched out of the blue and had not had promotion at all. Lana's fanclub is very dedicated so her albums will sell eventually. Besides I have never seen one of her singles in a music store. Hopefully the album will be received much better. I am having high hopes. So happy with both Honeymoon and HBTB!

thinkingoutloud89 19th August 2015 01:07 PM

She is pretty popular in Germany though. Summertime Sadness, Blue Jean, Born to Die, Dark Paradise and Ride were all on the Radio and Music TV. Ride, Young & Beautiful and West Coast too.

Utena 19th August 2015 08:47 PM

It's been a while I liked a Lana song so much. HBTB is really refreshing yet still so Lana <3

HBTB is the kind of song you should play when the cocaine is wearing out
